More than just a Barrier Creme

I was most excited to trial this particular product in the range as my daughter gets nasty nappy rashes. So to begin with the packaging is really cute and when opened I just fell inlove with the sweet honey scent. Next nappy change and I was straight into it - the texture is like a creamy body butter and its super easy to apply. Unfortunately after 2 days of using this product my daughters nasty teething rash came into full swing and I had to switch to a more medicinal barrier. I was disappointed that I couldnt continue using it. However not all was lost, once I gained control and the raw patches healed over I continued to use it as it boasts “moisturising and healing properties” and it didn’t disappoint. It brought the redness down and babys skin looked less irritated. Initially I lathered it on but in all honesty you dont need much at all and as a bonus Ive discovered that its like an everything balm - hands, elbows, knees etc. I love it. So for a 100g tub at a RRP of $14.40 its definitely worth it.

Tips: Can be used as an all over cream - targeting dry areas (hands, elbows, knees etc) just warm cream in hands and massage onto skin

Honey Babe Barrier Cream

This barrier cream works wonders for my little ones nappy rash. Such a comforting product that does not seem to irritate my little one at all. It has definitely left the nappy area looking hydrated and not sore looking at all. I noticed such a huge improvement in her nappy area after just a couple of uses.

I didn't hesitate using this product given that it contains so many natural ingredients - some of my favourites such as Avocado/Coconut oils and also Rosehip! As you can imagine these scents combined with Manuka honey makes this product smell and feel amazing. I really love the natural scent, not overpowering at all.

The barrier cream absorbs into the skin nicely too and feels lovely and light to apply, not super thick and greasy.

Such a reasonable price, and this barrier cream is sure to last a really long time as you only need to apply a little bit to the nappy area.

Love that this is a NZ made product also.

Tips: A beautiful present for a new mum, nothing beats a beautiful NZ made product.

Smelt nice but didn’t quite cut it for me

This product didn’t work for my babe, I was hoping this could be a natural and better version from the current very chemically smelling product I use on her however I was disappointed. It made little difference to her nappy rash and I found my trusted product did a much better job as a barrier cream. Smell was lovely and I was hoping for this product to be just as good as I prefer to use natural products of my girl, however no luck for me.

Natural Barriers

Very excited to be chosen to review the Wild Ferns Honey Babe three step system. I never really know what to use on my baby, apart from being recommend to avoid certain products, so I was pleasantly surprised to read this cream contains beneficial NZ ingredients.

I have been using the barrier cream every night, it is a lovely smooth but thick consistency, white in colour and such a beautiful soft fragrance.

My one year old daughter has had a couple of small red spots in her nappy area, these have not changed in size since using this cream, however they have not disappeared either which I thought they may have.

I think the pot is quite small, would prefer it came in a bigger size, but the tub is perfect for nappy bag/on the go changes.

Tips: A little goes a long way, use a small amount, you can always apply more.

Really great product!

This barrier creme is gorgeous! It has a gentle scent, nothing over powering. A little goes a long way, it spreads easily and evenly.

I used this on little man's nappy area, he usually gets a little red and sore overnight when he sleeps through - using this on the first nappy change of the day, the redness was gone by the next change!

I also reached for this for my sore hands, its actually an amazing non-greasy, intensive hand cream!

NZ made, natural, great prize and a good amount of product. What's not to love?!

Honey Baby Barrier creme with pure manuka honey

I was selected to take part in the trial team for this product. I was actually really excited when these products arrived as I am a fan of Wild ferns range!

The box has this beautiful yellow to golden orange ombre with manuka flowers over it, and the most adorable picture of a baby asleep on a manuka flower - even the inside of the box is yellow with white manuka flowers all over it. The barrier creme itself comes in a white tub with labels on the lid and tub itself that are similar in design to the box, including embossed baby and lettering.

The lid is a screw top and there is a solid plastic seal to stop the creme from getting on the lid. Unfortunately I misplaced my seal the first time I used it, but that has not inconvenienced me much. It just means that when my child chucks the tub around and it lands on it's lid, there is creme on the lid.

The barrier creme has a pleasant aroma and I found it actually quite soothing on my hands. I get eczema on my fingers, and if anything I found it soothed them and helped them heal. The texture wasn't as thick as the ecostore baby creme we have been using, and I liked that. Especially now that the morning are colder, it made it very easy to get out of the tub and warm a little before putting it on his bottom. I found I didn't need much and it spread quite well. I also found it helped heal any problem areas at the same speed that bepanthen does too.

We used this every night after his shower and every morning when he wakes up and there hasn't been any problems since we started using this.

I would highly recommend this product, it would be a fantastic gift for a friend with a newborn. We will be repurchasing, that's for sure!

Tips: A little goes a long way! Remember you can always add more if you haven't used enough!

Good multi-purpose balm

This is more of a thick cream than I balm. I use it even for my skin. It has a nice honey scent that is not too strong. The cream is a little thick but that helps to provide a good barrier. I use it around his diaper area whenever I change him and I have also been using it around his nose because he's been having a runny nose and the tissues are not doing so good on his soft skin! He seems to like it and it is certainly helping!

Tips: A little goes a long way, you only need a little bit if you use it anywhere on the body, but with the diaper area, you can use a little bit more.

Not Just a barrier cream

The product's smell took you right back to the memory of the little bundle you held in your arms. We only experienced a little teething rash that needed to be cleared up once over the trial period so it was hard to judge, what I did notice it took the redness down by 50% within 12 hours and completely cleared within 24 hours. I was determined to use this product and give it a full review so I decided to try it on myself. I have suffered from flare-ups of psoriasis so what better way to see if it would take the redness and itch out of something that usually needs steroids to clear up. I was shocked to notice after applying within 10 minutes the itch was gone! even more so when after 48 hours it was appearing to clear itself up (now because of the nature of the condition I will always have flare-ups caused by all sorts of factors but it was extremely reassuring knowing I could go to this product first before using a steroid cream directly on it). It would be interesting to see if it helped sooth other skin conditions so if you are running out of options there would be no harm in trying. Obviously, I am impressed by the repair of this product and will definitely be having it in the cupboards not only for my sons teething rashes but for my skin flare-ups too. I highly recommend.

Tips: test this product on other rashes, you might be surprised with your results.

Honey bum!

The scent of this barrier cream is a nice, mild honey scent. It's a very smooth, almost vaseline like texture cream, quite different to the nappy creams I have been using recently. You don't need much of this barrier cream because once it's on it does spread quite far. This cream comes in a tub which means you have to put your fingers in each time to get it out, this might not be the most hygenic way of doing it since your mid nappy change when you use it. I would prefer if it was in a squeezy tube. The packaging design is quite nice otherwise and it has a lot of information on it. As a barrier cream I find this works quite well. Because this cream is natural and has Manuka honey in it I am more willing to put this on at every nappy change. I try and avoid having excess product on her skin if I can help it. If my baby is already a little bit red this cream doesn't help her heal as quickly as others I have used but as a barrier cream it does exactly what it should. This barrier cream is made in New Zealand which is a huge drawcard for me. I prefer to buy NZ made skin care by far. The product is 100% natural too, it's something I look for in my own skincare but is especially important in skin care for my baby. This barrier cream is lovely, does what it says and is a good price, definitely something I would repurchase!

Honey Bum

Prior to using this product I was using the normal bepanthan barrier cream - never again will I use bepanthan. I am converted. The honey babe barrier creme is amazing. It comes in a 100ml pot for only $14.40. I have been using it for a week and will never go back, we have had no redness or irritation. Hallelujah! With Mānuka honey 80+ which is renowned for it healing properties it also contains Avocado, Coconut, Sweet Almond & soyabean oil plus Rosehip & Calendula essential oils to soothe and rehydrate with natural beeswax providing a protective moisture barrier to help prevent irritation and soreness. The smell is amazing it kind of smells like honey cocoa butter. Once again Wild Ferns have been able to provide a 99% natural product, that comes in recyclable packaging and it’s Made in New Zealand! Seriously what more could you ask for.

Tips: Buy it try it you will love it.
