Schick Hydro Silk Razor Review

Really liked this shaver, loved the moisturiser on it which helped the skin to be smooth and helped to prevent dryness as my legs get very dry when I shave them!

Wow this is the best razor i've had in a long time, this little baby is one smooth operator! It glides with such ease and because the head is quite large it covers more surface area than a lot of other razors. This razor has 5 blades and is really gentle but gives you the closest shave. I'm definately going to be purchasing some more blades for this razor!

Just bought one last week to try out as I usually purchase Schick anyway and was recommended to try this product by a friend. To be honest it was average. Used it for the first time it was great, but silly me left it in the shower and only realised after not to :/ The heat and water even if just kept in the shower causes the soap strip thingys to swell up and expand and I learnt the hard way it leaves a stringy mess in the shower. :( The type of strip thingys also don't seem like they would last long so think I've only got a few more uses out of it with regular soap. Hoping with the second refill and keeping under the sink it will last longer! Bit annoying though that it can't be left in the shower but guess thats the downside of soap bar razors. Gives a nice close shave though :)

Schick is my go-to brand for razors, they seem to make great quality razors that really do the job well of giving you a close shave.

I like the sleek look of this razor and the lovely blue and white colour. It looks modern and stylish -just what I expect from Schick razors.

I normally prefer male razors to be honest, just because they seem to have such a close shave, but this one is great!

I use my Aveeno body wash and lather this up on my legs, and then use this to shave. It gives such a close shave and I'm left with lovely, moisturised skin. This razor has never irritated my sensitive skin or given me little cuts like some other razors have.

The shape of the razor makes it easy to manoeuvre over your legs and just feels comfortable to hold. My legs after using this feel silky smooth and hydrated.

A fantastic razor that I will continue to buy. Would recommend to anyone.

The only downside, is the replacement blades can be pretty pricey- but this seems to be the case for most razors.

I got this razor free and I was so excited as I've been wanting to try it out for awhile! The first week of using this it was great! It got close and took all of the hairs with it, only days laters the soap strips started swell up, this meant the razor could not get close enough to shave and I gave up on it 8 days in. This was not left in a wet place also so not sure on why it did this :(

This razor is great. I won it off of a Facebook competition, along with a pack of heads (yay!) and I haven't purchased one in a while because of that.

The razor is very feminine, I think, coming in a purple box and having lots of curves. The curves on the handle make it easier to hold in your hand as you shave, and makes it less likely to drop. The head moves so it glides along your skin, going over your knees like they aren't even there. And the moisturizing strip stops you from needing to use body wash or shower gel for a clean shave.

The only negative I have, personally, is that the moisture strip expands and explodes out of the holes in the top and bottom of the razor very quickly. I keep it far from the water so I don't really understand why it does that.

I'll probably repurchase a full razor rather than buying replacement heads, because they're more expensive!

I received this as a freebie to try out and I'm glad I did. I've been using the same razor for about a year because I'm too lazy to buy a blade refill pack.

This razor gave a really close shave and left my legs soft and smooth. I really like the soap strips it has as it eliminates the hassle of using a shaving cream, gel or body wash when shaving. However the soap strips did disintegrate quite quickly when the razor was left in the shower for a week. This made them gluey and the razor rather more difficult to use.

The handle was easy to grip and maneuver, and I really liked using this razor. I will probably repurchase, and will recommend this razor. The blades are well-designed and it gives a great shave.

I normally use my husbands razors as I get a closer and better shave when shaving my legs, I received this in my sampleco box 2 weeks ago and was thrilled to try this new razor. It has 5 blades and outer piece that is like a boarder for the razors. The handle is shaped differently to normal razors, its more flatter.

It gives you a really close and smooth shave, I still get into the habit of exfoliating before shaving but it has a soapy strip to make it easier. The strip gets a bit gluey at times.

It gets all the hairs and its easy to clean, because it gives a close shave I do cut my legs at least once when I shave them which is quite unusual for me when I use a normal razor. I don't need to shave my legs as often as I would normally do with any other razor.

It is worth buying this razor if you can afford to, my husband is so happy because since I got this razor I don't use his razor anymore.

I was lucky enough to win this razor off the Schick Facebook page. I found it very exciting and loved the overall look of the razor. It gave a nice silky feel after use and a close shave without any irritation, which was great for me as that's something I sometimes experience.

However, I found the blades dulled quite quickly which was quite disappointing. I did really like this product, but was really disappointed with how quickly it dulled, especially for the price that it is. At the moment I'm using Schick Quattro and I find that works better for me, even though it doesn't leave that beautiful silky finish. I'm undecided whether to purchase refills for this, so I have saved the handle, and I'm still on the fence regarding if I want it.

I really enjoyed this razor! I found that it glided over my skin smoothly and the water activated moisturising serum was fantastic! I found that it did work better when used with a little soap, I don't recommend relying solely on the serum for a clean shave.

The blades did not pull on my skin at all and it went over my knees, ankles and behind knees so smoothly I did not have to worry about cutting myself.

Although this is a little expensive I think it is worth it as I found it took less time to shave my legs and anything that saves time is a great find for me!
