Sally Hansen Miracle Gel Top Coat Review

I'm a long time gel manicure lover, spend my money with my fav nail techs but thought I'd heard such great things this was worth trying. Loves: price, colour selection, oacgaing, drying time, application No so much loves: just didn't last at all. I tried googling it, re do s , different ways of applying but I just couldn't make it work.

I picked this up for cheap at Love My Makeup after being super impressed with the Sally Hansen gel range.

I love the sleek black packaging, the distinctive bottle (square base, round top) and the rubber band on the lid which makes it easier to grip on and open the bottle. The brush is at the end of a thin rectangular wand, meaning that it's a wide, flat brush, which i LOVE.

The formula spreads well and dries quickly to a nice, glossy finish. It wears pretty well (i'm ROUGH on my hands but it copes for a few days before needing a wee touch up). I don't find it excessively pungent, either, which is nice.

I'd definitely buy it again - the only reason it doesn't get 5 stars is that it's def a top coat ONLY. I like 2 in one Top/Base coats, but when I wear it like that, the polish peels off (side bonus; if you WANT the polish to come off super easy, ie it's a quick look for one day/night, this works a treat).

This product is amazing.

Pop ontop of the miracle gel colours and your nails will look like you've stepped out of a salon with a professional gel nails.

This formula is the perfect top coat with several nail polishes. It makes the polish hard and shiny. I find with this top coat ontop of a regular nail polish that night chip within the day will last 1-2 weeks!

If you do use this ontop of regular nail polishes not just the Salley Hansen gel colours, make sure they are super dry or this can strip the colour off.

The brush I find quite bizzare, it's a clear nylon colour and just flat! Makes it a little hard to spread the product evenly over the nail.

The brush would be one of my dislikes and the smell! It's very over powering so much sure you're in a well ventilated area.

This product is fantastic and does a great job, just a couple of minor flaws.

The Sally Hansen Miracle Gel Top Coat has been my go-to top coat for about a year now! I love it so much.

I only have several of the Sally Hansen Miracle Gel Colours and the top coat makes them last for about two weeks which is a heck of a lot longer than any of my other nail polishes!

I also like to use this top coat over my other brands of normal nail polish and I find that they last longer than when I use a regular top coat.

The brush is flat and nice and wide meaning that I can cover almost my whole nail in one swipe which is great.

My only negative about this product is that after about 8 months, the brush has started to fall apart, making application difficult.

I bought this after reading a few reviews and have mixed feeling on this one. Firstly I bought from a nail bar and cost was $ 13 which I was really pleased with. I like the black bottle but with the availability of black nail polish you need to be very careful you get the right product. I applied my usual polish and let dry really well prior to applying the top coat after reading the other reviews. Yes I also love the brush in this product -lovely and wide and easy to use however even though my nail polish was well set it still picked up the colour and stained the brush which is why I have reservations and gave a 4. The end result was an amazing shine on my nails and I received a lot of compliments on the finish however I do use a computer all day and after 3 days the ends were all chipped. Maybe I am applying wrong and need more practice however I would purchase again and perhaps try another product next time as a comparison

I love this product, it is my favourite topcoat and use it over nail polishes that are gel. Its nice, shiny and looks really good as it brightens all colours. Definitely a great product.

I brought this to go with my coral coloured gel polish. It apply easily and drys really fast.

The finished product is super glossy which I love but still strong and can withstand a week of all the normal mummy duties.

I like the black bottle and design and would definitely consider purchasing it again

I got this in the last beauty vault from BR. I needed it to accompany the three colours I got. It promises to give the gel polish a coating and keep them strong and lasting for up to three weeks. This all sounds like music to my nail polish loving ears!

The design of the bottle is quite unique in that it's completely black. Normally the bottle is clear but not this one. I love the brush that come with the Gel Top Coat. It's very wide and thick. It means that I get the perfect coverage in just two swipes of the brush! It means that it saves me so much time.

The polish is clear as I would expect and quite thick. It isn't thin and dripping off the brush like alot of polishes can be like. I find it annoying however that the nail has to be pretty much completely dry to apply without it taking off the colour. It takes ten plus minutes to dry completely! That is far too time consuming to wait for if you ask me. It should be touch dry and then it would be good to go but nope!

The lasting power is something that still now makes me happy! It lasts for up to three weeks! It's all true and I get sick of the colour before it fades or chips. It means my polish lasts without me having to do touch ups in between.

The part that explains my three stars score was because after removing it my nails are very brittle and flake! My nails are so thin that they break with just a slight knock! My nails are in the worst condition they have been in ever. I assume it's taking the goodness out of them or just is so super strong that my nails peel with the polish. Either way my nails are horrible and this is all due to the Sally Hensen Miracle Gel Top Coat! No thanks.

That is not a typo. The brush on this is awesome, three strokes and you're done. I usually use two coats of this however because I like a really glossy top coat and sometimes I feel the one coat just doesn't cut it.

My only real gripe is that even if your miracle gel colour coats are dry, this will pick up the colour again, so say if I've done a metallic feature nail with a plain colour on the rest and use the top coat on the metallic first, it will transfer bits of metallic to the other nails. I just work around this and do metallic nails last.

Lasts ages and ages. And works nicely with other polishes too.

I brought this nail polish as part of a set when these range first came out and I also got a coloured polish aswell.

This nail polish is a clear top coat, and comes in a black plastic bottle, with a plastic lid which twists off to show the nail polish brush attached (like most nail polish designs).

I have to admit I really like the brush on the nail polish. Its white in colour and It's quite wide and thick so two strokes and the whole nail is covered. Plus because the brush is thick it can hold a lot of polish so you don't get streaky dry marks.

The formula of these polish seems nice aswell, it's a nice consistency and is a clear transparent top coat. Once the nail polish dry, it does set like gel nail polish and wears like gel nailpolish so it wears for a good 3-4 days before it starts chipping. So far so good right?

Well unfortunately that's where all the good things stop because I hate this top coat with a passion.

I feel like the ingredients in this too coat are overly strong because when I actually put it on my nails, it strips the polish and leaves bald patches on my nails. It's not so bad when your nails are only one colour, but when I am making more details nail looks, these nail polish destroys it by Blurring lines, smudging colour and leave gaps with no polish at all.

When i do light thin coats, Sometimes my nails works out! But 95% of the time this ruins my nail looks an it's so frustrating so I will be throwing this out or passing it along to my sister.
