Olay Total Effects Moisturiser Normal UV SPF15 Review

When I think of Olay I'm taken back to years and years ago when I used a product by Olay and didn't like the smell at all - I didn't like the cream, I can't remember what it was but it didn't leave a good impression & I haven't touched Olay since.

I put my hand up for this trial because, as I said that was years ago, and given this product had SPF in it I was intrigued to see if my opinion would be changed. Surprisingly yes!

My skintype is "dry/dull", I have some fine lines & wrinkles and I'm covered in freckles, with a few age spots starting to sneak in. This 7 in 1 day cream for normal skin is so darn good for my skin, I'm loving it.

The texture is kinda puffy/creamy - hard to describe. I'm surprised it's for "normal" skin because during winter my skin is extra dry but this day cream has been great. Not sure how this would play out for people actually with "normal" skin.

The last skin consultation I had my face was so sun damaged. Knowing there's an SPF in this day cream is comforting and lets me leave out a step of purchasing and applying a sunscreen. It also hasn't stung my eyes at all (which I've experienced with ALL sunscreens on my face). I also love that this cream gives me radiance, it gives me glowy skin, I've been complimented a few times about my skin while wearing this.

I definitely would use this again! I love the packaging too :) oh and it smells good too!

I have normal to combination skin that is a little tired and dull looking just due to where i am in my life.

The packing and bottle is pleasing to look at and it looks and feels a bit like luxury! It has a lid and pump that was easier to use than i first though, and a clear lid to go on top which helps stop it drying in the pump tip. When i pumped it out it was light and creamy and really smooth to apply and absorbed very quickly and felt light on the skin, it has a light fragrance nothing to over bearing though and disappeared after it was all rubbed in. I only needed half a pump for my face and i did use a full pump every second day to do right down my neck. I was unsure weather something this light would stand the distance of the day but it did my skin still felt as silky and smooth in the afternoon as it did when i applied it in the morning. For me this seems like its a great choice as i don't seem to use as much an will last longer than other products i have tried before. If it truly is $14.99 its a steal because this so good but in honesty i have only seen it out there for $32.99 which i think i still good for a decent facial moisturiser in my opinon.

This did everything its says it does it absorb quickly which meant no waiting to apply other product, and i was so surprised to see that my skin just looked brighter and smoother and less tired! while all my fine line and heavy creases were still there they just seemed less noticeable! (well to me) Its only been a few weeks but my pores haven't clogged, my skin is looking healthier and just all round better. It really does what it says it will and is now my regular go to daily face cream i would recommend this to anyone wanting to try something new for there tired skin!

I was lucky enough to be sent this product to review. I am a fan of Olay products, they are such a trusted, familiar brand that typically no matter what you buy, you’re always getting a decent product.

This moisturiser promises 7 benefits in one ranging from anti-ageing to improving uneven skin tone and texture, age spots, dryness, dullness and pores. It’s enriched with green tea and vitamins and contains SPF so sounded like a miracle product.

The product comes in a pretty pearly gold pump bottle. The pump dispenses just a little too much product so a single pump is more than enough to cover face a neck (use the excess on your hands).

The cream absorbs quite well and has a subtle scent. The instructions say to apply twice a day which I am assuming is because the SPF is quite low, but obviously you couldn’t do this if you wore it under makeup, and certainly not at night, so I found that a little odd. It does leave a slight sheen which I wasn’t a fan of, but if you like that look then this could be an alternative to a BB cream.

It does moisturise well, however nothing about it stood out for me, and I tend to go for a higher SPF for day creams. Overall I haven’t noticed any improvement in my skin so won’t be rushing to replace it.

I would like to preface this review with the fact that I am a 52 year old woman so there are realistic limits around my expectations of such a product. Now... that aside.... I actually loved this product. It had little to no scent which I prefer. it had a lovely consistency and glided onto my skin easily. In the past I have had trouble with day cream not absorbing into my skin. Olay however did get easily absorbed into my skin allowing me to put makeup on with no difficulty. My skin did feel softer after application and there was an overall fresher look to my skin. I absolutely love the fact it has SPF included. I only purchase face skin products with SPF. As for reducing fine lines and wrinkles the jury is out - I love this product so will persevere. I am realistic about this so won't be disappointed if there is minimal change in this area. Overall Olay have produced a great product that is a real hit with me,

I really love this moisturizer! Firstly the packaging.. I'm a sucker for nice packaging. I love the bottle shape and the pump is awesome! Not to much or too little comes out at a time. Plus it looks fancy on my bathroom shelf.

The scent is decadent. It is a nice velvety rich scent and perfect for winter.

It goes on smooth and doesn't leave an oily residue on my face leaving it feeling hydrated but not heavy.

I haven't noticed a lot of difference in regards to fine lines. But I deffinately have noticed a difference with the unevenness that I get in cooler weather. Plus my skin just feels and looks better.

Highly recommend this product!

The Olay Total Effects 7 in One Day Cream was a pleasure to trial, from the clean and handy packaging, to the great price and the way it made my skin feel this was a winner in my books.

Firstly this day cream has a visible glow and gives your skin a glow from within and an awake look about it, I found it really brightened my complexion on mornings when I was feeling a bit tired and dull, which did in turn reduce the look of fine lines and spots.

It has a lovely texture and is fast absorbing and settling so I could happily apply it directly before I put my make up on. I should also add my foundation sat well on top.

To have the added bonus of SPF 15 which is so important for any skin complexion (who doesn't want to stay looking young and youthful for as long as possible) was excellent. Especially since it does not have that sunscreen feel or look.

To finish I can definielty recommend this daily face moisturiser. If you want to hydrate your skin while protecting it for the elements and achieving a healthy glow all at the same time this cream is for you!

I like the Olay range, its readily available almost anywhere and its economical. This particular one boasts ‘7 in one’ for fine lines, uneven skin tone, pigmentation, texture, pores, dryness and dull skin. All of which I sadly struggle with.. So to start with packaging is tidy, the bottle itself is plastic and it has a pump action top to decanter -very generous amounts if you so desire. First application and it has a lovely faint scent and almost luxurious texture, on first application I decantered far too much so lathered myself and had to wait quite some time for it to dry to apply foundation. But the feel on the skin I loved - it felt cool and hydrating. After using it for a week I havent noticed any major changes in my skin other than my forehead which usually has lots of fine lines - it still does but I think it may smooth them out ever so slightly which ill take! And dry patches is something I struggle with in wintertime so trialing this was a gamble and not even a hint of dryness with this moisturizer. My makeup is easy to apply over it and seems to hold fairly decently through the day. I think the winning attribute for this moisturizer is the hydration factor. Overall I think its a good basic daily moisturizer, I personally would alternate it with my more intensive moisturizer. Great trial product, would recommend.

Olay is a brand I grew up around, my Mum always used 'Oil of Ulan' prior to the rebranding and so I associate it with a tried-and-true skincare brand. Myself I have tried various Olay products but this was my first endeavour into the Total Effects Moisturiser so I was excited to trial it. I'm 30 and as such have been beginning to incorporate more anti-aging products into my skincare regime so this was a perfect trial for my skin.

My first impressions was I love the packaging design, it's minimal and sleek which suits my personal preference and I love the pump dispenser. I did find the pump dispensed a lot of product so I preferred using a smaller pump so that I got just enough product for my face and neck without wasting any.

I really enjoyed the formula of the moisturiser! It was a thick lotion more than a cream and not too heavy, so went on easily and didn't leave an oily residue.

In terms of the benefits, I found it too hard to judge whether it had any effect on discolouration or wrinkles but I did find it very hydrating and perfect for my dry winter skin. My skin felt instantly refreshed and soft. I've found my skin has been looking hydrated too and it hasn't made my sensitive skin react either. I do love the spf factor and have found that on busy mornings I am completely happy using just this moisturiser when I don't have the time for serums and sunscreen.

Would I recommend this? I already have! A friend wanted a more affordable alternative to a high-end brand and I recommended Total Effects as I think it's a great all-rounder.

I was excited to try this face moisturiser. It comes in a plastic pump bottle and has a very nuetral smell. It is very easy to apply and you only need a little bit as comes out of pump quite fast. Is a quite thick but smooths onto your skin easily. I have been using it every morning and to be honest I haven't noticed any different in my fine lines and wrinkles. I do however like the moisturiser itself as my skin does feel smooth and my makeup goes on easily afterwards and lasts all day. Its not greasy at all even though it looks quite thick. I would use again and it is value for money and easy to pop into your grocery shopping.

I’m not sure it made any difference to wrinkles or overall texture. It has helped the slightly drier patches that randomly appear though. Overall I found this product a little heavy for my skin. After application it seems to take ages to feel like it’s sunk in properly so for an hour or 2 it feels slightly greasy on the skin. I did try experimenting and using less (1 pump is HEAPS and could do face neck and décolletage!).. Will continue to use until gone though to see if wrinkles,texture etc improves with longer use but suspect it’s too much for my skin in hotter months (I get super oily greasy shiny in summer and even though it’s oil free I think it’s too heavy. I was lucky enough to be asked to review this by BR. It’s not quite right for me but still a great product as most Olay are!
