Not for me.

A friend gave this to me as she knows I am constantly losing lip balms. I hadn't tried these before and thought the packaging (with its cute baby pink tube), looked pretty.

This smells really nice - kind of sweet but it isn't overpowering. The scent didn't last that long on my lips so that shouldn't be an issue if scents are something you dislike in lip balms.

Be warned though, that this lip balm has shimmer in it. I didn't realise until I had applied it. Personally I can't stand shimmer on my lips - this is just a personal preference for myself, although it can look amazing on other people.

The shimmer, however, isn't like glitter - it looks more like crushed pearls. The sheen is very frosty and pearl like - so if you like that look then you'll probably really like this. However, I really, really dislike that so this isn't a product I would ever purchase or reuse.

If you like shimmer then I definitely think you'll like this! Hahaha - honestly, I don't like to highlight the fact my lips are so big - maybe that is why I don't like this. Hope you do though!

I love a bit of shimmer (not glitter) in my lip products, they make my lips look fuller and bigger, maybe you don't like them as you are already blessed with such nice & full lips.:) I'll be buying this lipbalm!!

Frosty!

I'm usually a big fan of Nivea lip products, but this one just isn't for me.

I really like two things: the scent and the packaging. It smells sweet and sugary without being too overpowering, and the tube is handy, sturdy and cute (gotta love pink packaging). However, that is basically where my love for this lip balm ends...

First off, unlike the other Nivea balms I have tried, this is not particularly moisturising. It definitely doesn't leave my lips "irresistably smooth" or soft, and I find it slightly waxy to apply.

Second, I *hate* how the colour looks on me. It's a very pale pink, which looks really nice in the tube. However, the "pearly shimmer" is no exaggeration - it's super frosty when applied, and looks almost white-pink in some lights. Overall, it just is not a flattering shade or finish on me (~NC15 skintone).

So, I won't be repurchasing this and I wouldn't recommend it to others unless they are a big fan of the frosty lipstick look.

Tips: If you're wanting a good tinted balm, I'd definitely recommend any of the Nivea Fruity Shine lipbalms over this one - they are moisturising, glossy, and nicely pigmented. xx

A Sheer, Pink, Frosted Lip Balm

I bought this a long time ago when it was on special. I liked the idea of a moisturizing balm with a hint of color. I have this in my purse since it's easy and fail proof to apply, and sometimes I apply it over my existing lippy to give it a hint of shine. It doesn't have a lot of color to it as it's really sheer, frosty pink and if you want the color to stand out a bit you have apply several layers on. It does fade and it's not as moisturizing as lipbalm but it is more hydrating than lipstick and isn't sticky like lipgloss. I'll often color in my lips with a nude lipliner and then apply this over it to do a sort of nude lip. I wouldn't buy it again because I've found some tinted lip balms I like better. Overall it's good inexpensive product for a lippy junkie or good starter lip product for a preteen just starting out in the world of lippies or even for a child's collection.

Tips: I have a nude lip liner I color my lips in with and then layer this on top for a gorgeous slightly shimmery nude lip. I also find wearing lip liner underneath helps the color last long and brings out the shimmer a bit more.

Pearly and dry

This "lip care" let me down. I thought I'd try it out because I liked the idea of having a pearly glow while taking care of my lips. Nope! There was a pearly shine, but it was the kind of chalky shine that I used to experience when messing around with $2 shop glosses etc when I was 8! And it really didn't do anything for my dry lips. If anything it made them worse, and with the chalkyness of the texture once dry, I was not a happy camper.

I'm glad you got your money's worth anyway, even if I didn't like it :) You're right that it might've changed formula

It turns out I really like it. Maybe they've improved it since your batch because it looks like a lot of people didn't like it when you didn't? maybe it's better suited to us older folk :(

Sorry for the disappointment MareeB! Maybe it could be re-purposed as a glittery eyeshadow or something if you dislike it as much as I did?

Frosty looking!

I love lip balms and have tried everything out there. I usually don't mind nivea products but this was a bit of a miss for me. It comes in a standard wind up tube and I paid around $4 for it.

I don't wear lipstick as my lips are super thin and it just looks a bit ridiculous on me. Well in my opinion anyway. So I thought this could add a subtle bit of colour. It goes on ok but in terms of moisturising my lips I feel like it does nothing. It just kind of sits on top of them, definitely gives me no relief.

Now for the pearly shimmer.......it looks silver/pale pinkish and looks absolutely terrible with my pale skin tone. It looks super frosty and accentuated my dry lips. It has a weird taste too it, almost like sunscreen.  This is a total fail for me,  the best place for this is in the bin. If you want something moisturising then Blistex is the way to go.

Shine

I found this product really did 'shine' perhaps a bit too much for my liking as an everyday lip balm. It does come in a nice twist-up stick and I felt it absorbed into my lips nourishing them nicely. However, it didn't give me the soft feeling described.

Shimmery shining goodness

Im a lip balm hoarder since teenage years, and Ive used and owned many great Nivea lip balms. This was the first pearly lip balm I had ever purchased and was excited to see how this product would work with my dry lips. I purchased the Nivea lip care from New World for $6, it comes in a great tube that is easy to remove and secures on tightly after every use. It smells like light petroleum and has a tinge of shimmer to the formula, it is easy to apply to the lips, the formula is a little hard to apply but once the product is warm it glides on like a charm. It isn't sticky and keeps your lips soft thru the day. I like to use this lip care as a base for if Im wearing just a lipgloss, it makes the lip gloss last longer and gives it added shimmer to my lips. My 4 year old daughter loves to use this as it makes her feel like a big girl without the colour of a lipstick.

I would recommend this lip care to everyone, it gives your lips a beautiful but subtle shimmer to your lips while conditioning and hydrating your lips.

NIVEA Lip Care Pearl And Shine

I bought this by accident (the accident was that I didnt realise it was pearly!)

Firstly, Nivea lip balms have such a great feel and texture. I really love them over say, a Chapstick.

I honestly didn't like the pearl, though. It made my lips look pale, and no one needs pale lips. Sure, they were sparkly close up, but if you are not getting into someones personal space then they will just do a double take at your face!
