In love with london

I haven't tried these lip pains before and picked it up in the vault.

It comes in a box with gold writing. Which I don't think is needed really if the put a decent seel over the lid.

I love this colour. I found it a bit tricky with the sponge applicator I would have preferred a brush in it.

It goes on well and lasted a decent amount of time given eating and drinking was still pretty good.

Definitely make sure you have exfoliated your lips first as I noticed dry patches stood out a bit.

Going to check out the other colours

Good and non-drying

I have the matte Mellow lip paint in Milan, a dusky pink nude colour. The formula is really nice and creamy, it applies really well without smudging, I can get quite precise lines which is nice. Once on the paint feels very light and isn't drying at all despite the matte finish. The colour barely transferred onto anything all day although I did notice after a couple of hours it had worn away a bit on my lower lip, but given the nude colour you couldn't tell at a glance. I am very very interested in trying more colours from the Mellow matte range.

Love!

I love this stuff! Amazing colours, and such depth of colour. The way it looks in the tube is how it looks on lips, you don't need to layer it. It's literally like paint, and I adore the matte finish, it doesn't even feel like you're wearing anything on your lips. Passing a mirror after a few hours, I'm actually a tiny bit shocked at what is on my lips, and it doesn't even feel like it! One has to be a bit careful applying this, it can look a bit over done if you miss the line of your lips. I really like it though, and plan on buying more colours.

Amazing colour

I should confess, I fell in love with these before I even tried them - the colours are just so incredible!

But I have now got two different shades - a pale pink (Rome) and a dark purple (Tokyo). I was really surprised to find the formula was a lot creamier than any lip paints I've tried before, but this is great for my dry lips. The colours were really intense and it seems like with a little patience to allow layers to dry, you could build them up to an amazing intensity.

On the downside I did find the lip paint didn't stay put particularly well, instead wiping off on things even when I expected it would be well and truly dry. Also because of the intensity of colour it is going to take a very steady hand to apply it properly (instead of just the quick job I did today as soon as the package arrived in the mail!), as I had darker bits where more product had come off the brush.

But patience and practice pay off with beauty products (I'm looking at you, liquid eyeliner!), so I'm sure with a bit of practise I'll find these the most amazing product in my arsenal!

Tips: I've been told about something called invisible lip liner that can really help keep your lip paint in place. I'm off to find one for myself now!

Budapest

I have been delving in the liquid lipstick range for a little while now. I'm glad to have my hands on this brand. It comes in a sleek tube that has the logo branding in gold writing down the tube with a gold lid which has the doe foot applicator inside it. The shade is a deep brown nude which is nice but more a fall shade since we are now meant to be in spring however I'd still wear it. The application is quite simple & easy ti glides onto the lips not streakh ir sticky at all nor is it pathy. Such a good quality of application. As it sits on the lips it again doesn't have a sticky or slick feeling & having a matte finsih it doesn't seem to suck they hydration from my lips at all. Doesn't feel or show any sign of cracking in the lips. Has very good pigmentation & has a good length of longevity does need to be topped up after greasy meals but would uphold a few drinks of coffee. I'd happily repurchase from this brand again. It isn't a creamy lipstick such as Ofra but definitely a goody.

Matte magic

I got this as part of Best Beauty Box Ever "The Nudes" box in Shanghai. It is a touch dark for my taste but a bold neutral. It is beautifully matte and lasts well, although as it says on the pack do not expect it to survive oily food.

The packaging is pretty and application is easy but you need a liner to keep it looking tidy. It is an excellent introduction to a matte lip look and very good value for money.

Tips: This definitely need your lips to be in good condition with primer. I would also say you need a good lip liner to get it to look its best

Matte Magic

After learning about Mellow from BR, I decided to purchase one of their liquid lipsticks from their site. The colour I have is New York, which is a rich, dark, bold, plum shade.

The lipsticks come in a clear, glass tube, with a gold lid, and Mellow written in gold on the glass. The applicator is a doe foot, and it makes the lipstick really easy to apply, and really easy to draw on your lips with.

The formula is nice and thick, and not streaky (unlike some other liquid formulas), and lasts pretty well. After wearing it for a while I only noticed it had warn off in the corners of my mouth through drinking.

The formula also feels nice and light on the lips. It is not sticky, or very drying for a matte lipstick. I am proud that such lipsticks have been created in New Zealand and I cannot wait to own more shades!

Mellow Cosmetics have hit the nail on the head

Liquid lipsticks have become massive in the beauty world, and even more so when the liquid lipsticks have a matte finish. There are so many brands coming to the 'Liquid Lipstick' party and there are so many formulas around. Let me says this from the get go, Mellow Cosmetics have made an amazing product.

This liquid lip paint come in such pretty packaging. They come in slender tubes with gold lids. Simply and classy. They have a doe foot applicator which has a nice shape and I actually find this applicator is really easy to use too.

The formula of these are lovely. To me, they are a combination of the Ofra Liquid lipsticks and the Jefree Star Liquid Lipsticks. They are pigmented, long wearing and are so comfortable on the lips which is a huge factor for me when I chose, and wear liquid lipsticks.

I have a few colours and I have to say, I love them all. My favourites are the nudey-toned ones because I am still scared of colour (give me time, and I'm sure I will be able to rock a cool-tone Barbie Pink lip, but that day is not today). My favourite colours are Tehran, Budapest, and Shanghai because they are so wearable. The colour New York is next on my list (and I know its a bold shade... but I need it. Lets hope I'll have the courage to wear it out of the house).

I love that this liquid lip paint is so amazing and is made by a New Zealand brand. These are some of the best liquid lipsticks I have tried, and they are so easy to get your hands on as well. They are definitely worth a try.

One of the best on the market!

I like Mellow cosmetics products and when they released that they were bringing out a range of liquid lipsticks, I was over the moon! On their website they have added different currencies too, USD and AUD which is a great idea for people living overseas.

They cost about $21 each and if you spend over $40 you get free shipping. I had a little trouble with the website as I couldn't sign into my old account but it was good to know that the Team over at Mellow cosmetics had sorted this out so I could complete my order.

I chose 3 shades out of the 10 shades they have made. The shades were Tokyo, Puerto rico and Shanghai.

Tokyo- A dark deep purple shade. I love this shade very much, it is dark, it is vampy and is very pigmented. One swipe of this and you have a dark opaque shade of purple. The only downfall with this shade is it starts to chip on the inside of your mouth. The way to go around this is to add lip liner underneath the lipstick, focusing on the inside of your mouth. It acts as a barrier and prevents it from chipping off. What I like about this shade is it doesn't bleed, I have found a few dark liquid lipsticks that bleed but this one stays inside the lines of your lips.

Puerto rico- A grey beige nude, this has been my dupe for Jeffree stars Posh spice only slightly darker. I have a medium skin tone (MAC NC30) and find if I wear this alone it is quite similar to my lip colour, I use a slightly darker lip liner compared to this lipstick just to create some dimension in my lips and it doesn't make it look so washed out with the grey.

Shanghai- A chestnut brown shade, this would be my most favorite lipstick. It adds a bit of warmth to the lips without it being too dark or light. This applies very easily and is moisturizing on the lips.

Overall these liquid lipsticks are amazing, the pigmentation is perfect and they glide on beautifully. The foot of the application is hard and makes applying these very easy, especially Tokyo because its so dark. I like these because they apply wet but they take longer than usual (compared to other liquid lipsticks) to dry. It gives you time to remove any mistakes and doesn't set into your lips like other do which prevents staining. They're all moisturizing on the lips and dont make my lips feel dry. I am only slightly disappointed in Tokyo because it cracks in the middle but with a little preparation you can prevent that from happening.

I will be purchasing more!

Smooth Dreamy Creamy

I was lucky enough to pick this up in the last vault, and it fast became a favorite.

This color is pastel brownish nude tone. I feel that it looks surprisingly glamorous on the lips, I love it and I reach for it a lot when i’m wearing a full face of makeup. It looks really bizzare however, if you’re wearing a very minimal amount of makeup, you gotta go heavy to pull it off.

The packaging is simple, practical and stylish, with a sturdy plastic tube and a traditional, ‘regular’ sized doe-foot applicator.

The consistency is quite creamy, glides on smoothly and dries quickly. It’s not quite opaque, but nearly after a couple of coats. It feels really light on my lips and is non-drying.

Wear wise, touch ups are required after eating, but it seems to cling on reasonably well.

I love this lip paint, this color, and i’m setting my sights on a few more colors from the range.

On their website you can change it to NZ$ and you get free shipping for over NZ$40, so I think it's shipped from NZ.
