I am reviewing the shade 'shooting star'. Max factor makes great shadow duos and the eyeshadows are creamy and buttery smooth to apply, very pigmented and long wearing. This is a duo I have purchased repeatedly and I find it very good value and very versatile.
The product comes in quite a small compact but I like the fact it is so small as I really don't like large bulky wasteful packaging. It also encloses a tiny sponge applicator which I don't use and could do without. But it's a nice idea that they include it. The shades are a soft pink tinged beige ivory pearl which is a flattering pearl - not shimmery, gritty or glittery just adds a nice sheen. The second shade is a deep bronze brown with a hint of a red undertone. Both work very well together and are a great basis for several looks or you can wear each shade alone just fine too. For day I will wear the lighter shade on the brow, over the lid and the bronze into the socket and as a liner. For night I will wear the bronze all over as a smokey eye with black liner. The bronze is an excellent shade for my hazel eyes it is very comparable to my Clinique black honey eyeshadow single which is another red based bronze shade. Wears nicely on it's own but over a primer this little duo will stay on all day without creasing. I really hope they keep this duo around for a long time!
I purchased the 433 Blooming Passion Duo Eye Shadow from Farmers a while back. This product is on the more pricey side.
There are 2 colours both shimmer shades: a light pink and a raspberry pink colour, comes with a small eye shadow brush. You can use either colours on its own or combine the 2 for a very nice romantic look.
The texture is light, smooth, has a slight creamy/silky feel and quite pigmented. Very easy to apply (ignored the brush in the set). I prefer to use my fingers to apply the eye shadow and then a blending eye shadow brush to make it come together.
The product stays on the eye lids quite long but begins to smudge in the late afternoon if no primer is applied.
Tips: Use an eye primer or invest in a good eye shadow brush.
