Bambi False Lash mascara

Read reviews about the Bambi False Lash mascara before and really wanted to try it, thank you for affording me the opportinity.

Love the packaging and especially the fact that its silver....I could spot it easily in my handbag which was a big plus for me. It looks expensive and high quality with an almost aerodynamic design to it.

Love the brush. The mascara goes on well with no clumping and lasts all day with no smudging or flaking, and my lashes look fuller and somewhat more curled. Did not particularly look like false lashes and also wasn't the blackest of black, but overall a really good product.

The price of this mascara is a bit more than the one I was currently using, but the long lasting effect is worth that wee bit extra. It actually takes some effort to get the product off which only speaks to its staying power throughout the day. Eye makeup remover was required to get all of it off.

I’d definitely recommend, I’ll be buying it again!

Tips: Might have to apply a layer, wait for it to dry and add another layer to get a better effect.

Bambi Eye False Lash Mascara

Bambi Eye False Lash Mascara comes in a cardboard box a little longer than the length of the mascara itself. There's a cut out section on the front where you can see the shiny silver mascara through the packaging. It's clearly labelled on the box with font in block letters that reads, DOE-EYE LOOK, EYE OPENING EFFECT. The colour is Black which is stated on the front of the box. 8.9ml is the volume and the formula is Black Velvet. There's an image of an eye with this mascara applied which shows the product's 'False Lash' Mascara look on one side of the box. On the other side of the box, there is a before and an after results images. You can see the difference in the photos. It says underneath the images RESULT: CURLED, ELONGATED & DEFINED LASHES. NO CLUMPS! There's an image of the wide eyed brush on one side of the box and ingredients list and recycle instructions on the back.

I opened the box, twisted the lid off the mascara. It's shiny, bullet shaped with a pointed tip. After a few twists, it came off easy. I applied this False Lash mascara with the wide eyed brush to one of my eyes' lashes first. It went on easy with no clumps. I found the mascara wand easy to use. After a few blinks on the brush, my lashes were defined, longer and did curl a little. I thought it did make my lashes have that false lash look but it wasn't overboard. I applied a light coat to my bottom lashes as well then I looked in the mirror and you could definitely see the difference compared to my eye with no mascara on. I applied Bambi Eye False Lash to my other lashes on my other eye and I was satisfied with the results. It stayed put all day and didn't run or smudge when I sneezed from pollen in the air at the moment.

I left it on all day and took it off in the evening with Garnier Micellar water and Swisspers wipes but before I done so, my lashes were still elongated, curled and clump free at the end of the day. The next day, I wore the mascara again and liked the results. I will continue to use it daily as mascara is a must-have with my daily makeup routine. I like that it makes my lashes look lovely and lush and longer. Without this false lash mascara, I have no lashes. I probably would buy it in the future after trialing this. I had a look at how much these retail for at Farmers, $30.99 at the moment but I think it's worth paying more for a good quality mascara. And who doesn't want eye opening effect and the Doe-eye-look? I noticed my lashes and eyes didn't itch either which is great.

Great product if you want to get that Doe-eyed look and eye opening effect.

Not quite up to the hype

L'Oreal Paris Bambi False Lash Mascara promises a "bigger, wider, doe-eyed look" but for me, that didn't eventuate.

The product is a beautiful silver case which stands out (especially in the depths of a handbag) and is a more angular shape than other mascaras. The brush is passable - nothing revolutionary.

The mascara itself isn't black black, but rather more of a muddy grey/black. It seems weird but it does dry to be quite dark. It glides on easily without clumps and the brush does an acceptable job.

But I failed to see the "bambi" eye or the "false lash". My outer corner lashes did curl a smidgen, but that was all. The others were much the same, just with mascara on them. I tried it on one eye for the night (at home!) and honestly, there was no discernible difference in curl or eye-opening effect. When I wore it out in the daytime, nobody mentioned anything about my mascara, so it obviously didn't look overly different. It didn't look like I was wearing false eyelashes either. Sadly, this mascara offered no difference to any other mascara that I currently use. It didn't live up to it's promises sadly.

In saying that, it's still a decent mascara. It wasn't clumpy, it didn't smudge (even in the middle of hayfever season!), but it was also relatively easy to remove. I'll definitely use it all up, but I won't be in a hurry to replace it. There's plenty of mascara that does the same for less.

I had hopes this mascara would mean I could ditch (or at least ease up) on my eyelash curler. While I'm not so naive to think it would replace it, or offer something better, it was disappointing it did nothing of the sort. Just the merest hint of a curl in a corner. Disappointing.

Tips: Don't ditch the eyelash curler just yet.

Bambi Falsh Lash Mascara

The packaging for this product was nice and light which would make it ideal for travelling. It also meant the wand was easy to control and use. The bristle brush was really good at defining lashes. I had NO clumps at all after applying 3 layers of mascara. Despite being a normal non-waterproof mascara, this lasted me pretty much the whole day without the panda eye look I sometimes get due to my oily eyelids. This didn't really lengthen or add volume to my lashes but would make a great low-key work mascara- it's easy to use and I had soft fluttery lashes for a whole day.

Tips: Curl your lashes before applying this mascara, this will open up your eyes more.

Black Velvet

L'Oreal Paris False Lash Bambi Eye Mascara in 'Black Velvet' promises a "doe-eye look, eye opening effect."

This mascara is packaged in a shiny silver torpedo-shaped or "D" shaped tube.  The flat, "Bambi Eye False Lash" printed side of the tube does help it to stop rolling off a flat surface, but it kind of ruins the sleek looking effect of this tube.

It contains 8.9mls of mascara, and the wand applicator is bulbous and chunky.  Personally, I'm not a fan of fat, wide mascara applicators.  I do prefer a more classic, slender mascara wand, but that's just personal preference and isn't a bad reflection on this product.

The consistency of the mascara formula is quite thin, so it coats every eyelash individually, without clumping.  I didn't really find that this mascara curled or elongated my lashes as much as other mascaras do, and I definitely didn't end up with a "doe-eyed" effect.

To get a slight 'false lash' effect, I did have to apply one coat of the Bambi Eye mascara to one eye, then apply one coat to the other eye while that coat dried, then go back and apply a second coat of mascara over the first (dried) layer.  Continuing to wait for coats to dry between applications until I had reached the desired look.

Usually I apply numerous coats of mascara to one eye at a time, to prevent the mascara from drying and clumping, but that doesn't work with this one.  Instead, if I keep applying more coats to one eye, I found that the mascara clumped and stuck my lashes together.  It's definitely better to wait for it to dry between coats, with this one.

Personally, I'm not all that impressed, and I get a better effect from a really cheap mascara. I don't like the fat wand, there was no lash curling effect as promised, if anything, it made my lashes stick out more straight than curling them upwards, and it feels like an average mascara that's promising big things.  The only thing that it does have going for it is that the mascara doesn't flake or transfer into 'panda eyes' on the lower lashes during the course of the day.  Once it's on, it stays where you put it. Sadly, that's not enough to make me want to purchase another tube of this when the time comes for me to replace it.

Tips: Wait for it to dry between coats, and apply more coats until you get the effect you're looking for.

Pleasantly surprised!

I loved the idea of this product from the get-go "Bambi eyes" says it all really?

Now, I am super picky with mascara brushes, I don't have the longest eyelashes, and they're all a bit wonky, so I love a brush that can coat them all, without also clumping them. I was worried when I first pulled the wand out, it was a plastic type brush top, with all even and straight bristles. I haven't had much luck with these type of brushes in the past, so imagine my surprise when my lashes were all evenly coated and lengthy without the clump?!

The first go I had, I didn't put too much on (for fear of clumping) and though the length was a little lacking, however, the second go I did with a heavier makeup look all over, I found I could easily build the length, and also noticed there was no transfer onto my lids (as sometimes happens with you have to push harder to coat lashes).

I think this is a genuinely great mascara, that does what it says, the packaging is fine although I was expecting something a little cuter...'cause you know 'bambi" and all that, but it's really not that important. It's build-able, forgiving and a great formula that I also noticed did not irritate my eyes at all, and I have pretty sensitive eyes at times.

I would happily re-purchase this, and also incorporate it into my everyday makeup I reach for!

Tips: This product is super build-able and simply blinking down onto it will coat your lashes just fine.

Lush Looking Lashes

First off thanks so much BR for giving me the opportunity to be part of this trial. I had just run out of mascara so this was perfect timing for me.

It comes in a gorgeous metallic silver tube. I find it visually appealing. I however don't feel the need for the box it comes in. Just a waste of packaging to me. It came in black which is the only colour I ever use. The tube is quite chunky but it is easy to hold.

The brush has short bristles, it does a great job at coating my lashes and defining them. The formula is more on the dry side, I find one coat is all I can do otherwise it starts to clump, especially on my outer lashes. But one coat is really all I need so I'm ok with that.

My lashes are instantly noticeably longer and lush looking.  They fan out beautifully and are definitely more dramatic than the previous mascara I was using. I really love how they look.

I get no transfer or flaking at all. It stays put all day long until I remove with micellar water. This is a really great mascara for both day and night. A great affordable price also.

One word....WOW

I am very picky with my mascaras so I wasn't sure about this one...until I used it!

The shape of the applicator is oval which I found weird and normally ones I use are curved the opposite way. The applicator is also rubber rather than bristles which I prefer as it doesn't clog up with product.

My first use had me hooked. You know how normally when you first use a mascara it has soooo much product on it when you first pull it out..well this one didn't do that at all so the container must have a good design inside.

The first brush on my eyelashes went on so easy and kept all the lashes separated well. It did take a lot of coats and strokes because of the shape of the applicator, you can't get all lashes in one go. But I do wonder if this is how it creates the most amazing dimension to your lashes.

Not only do you get amazing dimension the lashes are soo long it's crazy! However because of the shape of my eyes this length did mean it rubbed on my eyelids and transferred product. This was the only downside to the product for me personally. I did look up to see if it came in waterproof and it does so that will be my next purchase to solve that little problem.

100% recommend this product, you wont be disappointed!

A miss for me unfortunately

I've seen the ads for this mascara and the claims sounded promising. Unfortunately this just didn't live up to the hype for me. My lashes are sparse, short-ish and I have oily lids. The formulation isn't humidity proof so I found slight panda eyes by the end of the day. I didn't see much lengthening action either, but I did like that it didn't clump. However I think if you have longer thicker lashes, this might be the mascara for you.

No falsies required!

Love, love, love this mascara. Why? Read on....

1. It looks nice and it's easy to use. Its design is attractive. It's silver, sleek and eye-catching. Its lid is a little thick, but having said that, holding it isn't a problem as it's been designed in a way that makes it easy to grip and use comfortably.

2. It's buildable. One coat of this in black/noir works well for me and does the trick, but I've also found this mascara to be buildable, so for a more dramatic effect, you can apply two or even three coats.

3. The look it achieves is lovely! This mascara is aptly named as it gives you that beautiful, wide-eyed, doe-eyed look! Bambi indeed! I love that it lifts and curls my lashes effortlessly and provides added length. Elongated, winged-out lashes look very pretty on me. It also does provide that kind of attention-getting false-eyelash look! A case in point: I was asked recently if I was wearing false lashes! Nope I replied, I used one coat of LÓreal's Bambi False Lash Mascara! Oh my god, they replied, how did you achieve that with mascara? I don't know was my answer, but it's much easier than mucking around with false lashes!

I'd been on the lookout for a new black mascara and now I've found it! Thanks BR crew for introducing me to it! I'd recommend it to anyone who is looking for a mascara that has the X factor. This one definitely has it.

Tips: It's buildable, so if you're going for a more dramatic effect, add a couple of coats.
