Life savior

I have tried so many eye primers, I have never found that one eye primer that soaked up all the oils on my eye lids and didn't crease my eyeshadow. I did my research and it interested me, I was hoping every single person on youtube was telling the truth when they all said it was amazing. My eye makeup game has never been so strong after the day I splurged and spent $48nzd on the sift ochre paint pot! I will never look back after trying this little pot of gold. I don't even know where to begin, the creaminess worried me at first because I thought that it wouldn't work well as a primer because it was so creamy but I was infact wrong. It sets pretty fast, one small dip with my finger in the product covered my whole eye lid and I set it with a light cream coloured eyeshadow then continue on with my other eyeshadows over top. Everything blended amazingly on top of it, and most importantly my eyeshadow lasted ALL day without any colour fading or rubbing off. Life changing. The hype is real GET AMONGST IT!

Tips: I made the mistake of using too much once, so be careful not to over do it! The smallest amount of product really does go a long way!

It's an essential!

This little baby is a winner in my eyes, pardon the pun... This is my holy grail of eye primers. I use the "Painterly" shade daily before applying eyeshadow. It is a neutral beige shade that suits most skin tones but there are many shades to choose from. It helps to prime the lids providing a seamless base. It helps the eyeshadow to be applied smoothly and last all day, without creasing or fading.

Go get some....it's an essential!!

Tips: You only need to apply a thin layer (I use my finger...) smoothed from upper lash line and all over the area that you apply your shadow to. Therefore it is great value and should last a few months even if used daily

Groundwork and Indianwood

I’ve had Groundwork and Indianwood for a few years now and the products are almost as good as the day I bought them. Despite using them a lot I find them hard to use up. They have great colour pay-off and therefore you don’t need much which is a bit of a bother if you’re trying to pan (I stopped holding my breath way back).

They come in clear glass jars which have a bit of weight so I tend to leave these at home because I’m not a fan of carrying around glass packaging. I love to wear these shades on their own but unfortunately this product doesn’t hold too well on my oily lids. It begins to break up and fade by the 4th hour (with or without primer) so I’m left looking a little weird. It works better for me when I use them as a base or an eyeliner.

The paint pots have a buttery texture and over time this can change if you don’t store them properly. I think I’ve done quite well at storing them with only the edges pulling away from the glass for Groundwork but the product is still fine. I just ensure the lid is on tight and store them inside my drawer out of the sunlight. I apply the product using a clean finger to help warm the product and then press it onto my lids which dries down to almost a powder finish but without losing any of the vibrancy of the colour.

Groundwork is a neutral ash taupe and I like to use this as a base for my smokey eyes. This shade would look amazing on a lot of skintones but especially those who are of a more olive complexion.

Indianwood is a warm metallic bronze which I use to intensify my eyemakeup or use as an eyeliner. I find that Indianwood is much smoother than Groundwork so it’s easier to blend.

The only con I have about this item is hygiene. Using my fingers is probably the kind of application I hate most because you just never know what nasties are lurking about especially because it’s going on your eyes. I generally make sure not to ‘double dip’ with the same finger. I pick up enough product for both eyes so that I don’t need to go back in for that makeup application.

I bought mine from the MAC store and I don’t regret it in the sense that I have definitely got my money’s worth and that I’m still using it today. I definitely won’t be repurchasing mainly because of the lack of longevity of the product on my oily lids; had they performed better alone I probably would have considered another two.

The most perfect eye base

I have this paint pot in painterly. I got it around one month ago and haven't touched another eye base. I just really love this one so much!

I've heard about these paint pots for years and definitely in the painterly shade as well but the price and mac not being easily accessible to me always put me off. I did buy mine second hand but only a tiny little bit had been taken out to swatch.

The packaging of this is nice and simple, just like mac products are. It's a clear glass jar with a black screw top lid. You look at this and think, hmmm, it's kind of small for the price but I think this will last the longest time. I've been using it for a month and mine only has a slight dip.

I jus use my finger tips to apply and blend this. It's so creamy so it blends out so easily and it is also opaque. This particular shade pretty much matches my skin on my lids so it looks super natural but manages to cancel out all the little veins and discolouration so I have a smooth canvas for eyeshadow. Obviously, this wouldn't be the case if you have darker skin but this would still be great for eyeshadow to sit upon and there are probably darker shades available.

I really like how this helps to prevent eyeshadow creasing as well as creating a smooth base. If I was comparing this to the Maybelline colour tattoos, this comes up far superior. I find the tattoos can be a bit dry and can sometimes drag on the skin plus they don't really help to prevent creasing.

I also think this would make a perfect look by itself, f you wanted a bare lid and massive lashes or something like that.

I can't actually imagine running out of this but when I do eventually, I will definitely look to re purchase it.

Absolutely Amazing

I have three of these paint pots, and I love them. They provide a solid base for your eyeshadow, and allow you to blend other colours on top. These paint pots are really versatile, and you can build the colour up, to create different looks. They are an amazing texture and really pigmented. They hold their colour very well. I can't wait to get more of these in different colours :)

Tips: I use mine with my Sleek i-divine palette in Storm, to build up the colour and to give extra "life" to my eyeshadow

Cult Classic Painterly Pot

Firstly, I'll just admit the only reason i got this product is because KathleenLights always talks about it, and uses it when she does her eyeshadow looks which just look flawless, so of course i had to get it.

This wee paint pot is quite simple. It comes in a small glass pottle, with a matte black lid. The lid simply screws off, so the design is pretty basic, but it works perfectly. Since the pottle is made from glass, by simply turning the product upside down you can see the colour of the product. However, when the pottle is sitting upright, you can't tell which colour is it, so if you have a few, it would get confusing.

This paint pot is a beautiful light brown, with a soft pink undertone, and i use it as an eye shadow base. Its completely solid, and has an almost cream texture to it. I simply use a finger for application because i find its the easiest way to do it.

I had reservations because i honestly didn't know if this would look good on darker skin tones, but it does blend out beautifully, and even when i wear it as a eye shadow, it still looks nice.

When i use it as a base for eye shadows, i find the helps the eye shadows last all day so I am really impressed. Plus, people may think it is expensive, but i have been using it a lot, and have hardly made a mark on it, so it is very economical too.

soft ochre

amazing for oily eyelids! i use this to cover up my veiny eyes and as a eyeshadow base, i dont need to set this as it drys itself and keeps the oil at bay, it makes my eyeshadows blend out so easily and they dont go patchy. It lasts all day and i note my eyeshadow lasts a lot longer than it use to, it is quite a strong yellow colour so i would go for painterly if you have a neutral or pink undertone to your skin

Tips: i wouldn't recommend for pink undertones

Changed my makeup game

I actually think buying a paint pot in soft ochre might have been the best purchase I have ever made. This product has seriously changed my makeup game. I am a huge eye shadow fan and like to wear it 5 days a week but I didn't own a good primer before. Then I went and got the soft ochre paint pot. It makes my shadow look so beautiful and it makes it last a long time while preventing creasing. Soft ochre helps cancel out any strange colours showing through on my eyelids and makes my eyes look awake. It could be used on it's own with a liner but I mostly use it as a base for other shadows. I love the packaging and I believe this product will last a long time as I only need a tiny amount. When I eventually run out of it I will definitely be ready purchasing. It is extremely expensive but I have never been dissapointed or regretted buying this product so it's worth every cent.

Tips: Apply with fingers

Pigmented/10

I only own 2 but thats okay because the 2 i own (Bare study and another one i forgot the name of :3) is so friggen pigmented and you get the best colour on the first layer I love them so much. The only issue I have is the price as in australia it's about $35 a pot...it's worth the money but I wish they were cheaper xD

SOFT OCHER!!!

This is currently sitting in my no.2 spot for top M.A.C product, I use it everyday, its just a great base, takes away the redness from my eyes, it stops the creasing, it makes the eyeshadows more vibrant, last longer, it just does the job and does it well, i havev had no problems with this and it beats my urban decay primer by a mile. Its creamy and opaque. The paint pot actually last quite a awhile I think i will use it all before it ever dries out. its worth the price.

Tips: If you can find the maybelline color tattoo in just beige thats a great dupe for this but when i went hunting for it all i found was the tester .
