I've used this sharpener for a couple years and the blade is still nice and sharp. I've never had issues with it breaking the tip of my pencils or filling up and not working etc. It's a good quality sharpener that does exactly what you want. That being said though, as with all MAC products, is it really worth the price tag?

The MAC pencil sharpener is probably one of the cheaper tools they offer. I bought it in Hawaii so I think I only paid about $6 NZ which is more like it tbh.
The positives are that it's sleek, compact, the lid doesn't pop off, and it works well. Shavings are collected, and it comes with a wee scraper to help clear any blockages.
The drawbacks are that it one accepts one size pencil, and that the clear lid gets a bit grubby from time to time. it's also expensive for what it is.
Other than that, theres not much to say about it It's a makeup pencil sharpener, it's a good one. All good, really if you're happy with the price!
Tips: makeup wipes and cotton buds to clean it out periodically work well
I bought the sharpener in order to finish off my MAC voucher some years back. Lets be honest - who needs a $10 sharpener? No one. I believe the sharpener is the cheapest item in the MAC store.
The only good point about this sharpener is that it collects the shavings. The cons is that it’s so small that you have to empty the top case after sharpening about 5 times and if you use lipliners and eyeliners as regularly as I do that’s annoying.
Aside from the plastic, the quality of the blade and black case is good however it’s no different to what you can find at a bookstore or a $2 store. With the regular emptying of shavings I understand that it can take a toll on the case but I didn’t expect the plastic top to crack near the opening after 2 weeks. It was only a matter of time before it actually broke apart.
After a month of use my sharpener no longer collected shavings so it was frustrating having to leave the vanity just to sharpen my lipliners. If you need to finish up your voucher and don’t mind adding an additional $2 or $5 to purchase the next cheapest item in the MAC store then by all means avoid this sharpener.
This sharpener was a bit of an impulse buy. It is a little expensive but it does work. The blade is still sharp after a number of years but it doesn't sharpen some larger pencils so another one is needed for this. My only criticism is the clear plastic lid comes off easily when using so I recommend holding the lid down when using. Yes I recommended this.
