These aren't hyped up for no reason. If you're wanting a high end lipstick that is worth your money and you're gonna use it everyday, then MAC is the way to go. Theres different formulas that suit everyone. Personally i love the matte and creme sheen formulas.
They do stay on longer than standard drugstore lipsticks and the mattes are really opaque. For matte formulas, you do wanna scrub your lips beforehand or lines and those ripped skin on your lips will show, especially if its dark shades such as diva or rebel.
The creme sheen formula is quite moisturising and non drying although it doesn't last as long.
Tips: Make sure you blot after every application and apply again
I love the colour of this lipstick and wanted to use it because of it's matte nature. However, due to the matte finish this lipstick drys out your lips and ALWAYS cakes/crumbles at the corners of my mouth. Not great for extended periods of wear.
Tips: To add a little moisture, apply a lipbalm before the colour.
Mac lipsticks truly live up to the hype. The pigmentation and colour section is phenomenal. However, I do think the matte lipsticks are a little drying but have amazing longevity. My favourite finish is lustre, the leave a lovely finish and aren't too drying. My favourite colours are twig/ plumful, for a your lips but better finishes
Tips: Google swatches before purchasing if you're doing so online so you're sure the shade will suit you!
I love everything about mac lipstick! They come in so many colours so there is something for everyone, they are also always on trend with new colours that are seen on runways. The lipsticks smell really nice, and last for ages, they also come in different textures so there is something to suit everyone. The only downside is that they are waaay too overpriced, you wonder if it is really worth the money. But it is MAC so what do you expect?
Oh my....
Where do I start!
I finally purchased my first MAC lipstick... Why did I take so long?!
I decided to go with Diva as I wanted a winter plum colour. It is AMAZING! Cannot recommend anymore. Only thing is I find it a little dry. It lasts FOREVER though, cant believe I have wasted so much time with my Revlon lippys!
I have a couple of Mac lippys but I really need more! They are the perfect formula, lovely and creamy. They come in so many different colours, there is something for everyone. At the moment I'm loving "Craving" as the days are getting colder.
My lips are pretty dark so sometimes it's difficult to find a lipstick that suits me but i found that MAC had a great selection! I picked up party line in Hong Kong a while back on holiday and it's my go to lipstick when i go out! Glides on great and doesn't fade for a while. It also doesn't leave my lips feeling dry like most drugstore lipsticks do. I've been having a good look online for a while now and will definitely be dropping by my local MAC counter to pick up more colours!
If you have the money, mac lipsticks are an essential. They have such a wide range of colours that would suit anyone and have long wearing creamy consistency. Recently splurged and got my first one and don't regret it at all !
This was my first MAC lipstick purchase. The lady at the store counter helped match me to a shade of red that suited my tones well. The lipstick is smooth and vibrant - and can be dressed up or down with the rest of your make up to create a look that is perfect for you.
Tips: Definitely recommend to use a lipstick liner around it. Other lippys I haven't had to, but found this needed it to keep it in place :)
