Nothing exciting

Plenty of colours and a nifty little applicator (which I never use). For $5 it’s not bad at all, if you want some better quality shadows you’d pay a bit more, but if you don’t mind then this is just peachy. Not super pigmented so I needed to build up the colour a bit. With a good primer the colour lasts quite a while and doesn’t budge for quite some time.

Perfect for me

I was doing some online shopping and randomly decided to look at eyeshadows as I threw all mine out when I had a massive clean out. I spotted this palette and for $5 I thought why not. I don't wear eyeshadow often at all so I wasn't fussed if it just sat around as it was so cheap.

The packaging is simple but does the job.  There are 16 shimmer eyeshadows, I would say more nude/natural colours. I'm not a fan of the applicator that comes with it so I just use my own brushes.  I am definitely a novice at applying eyeshadow but man I can create some great looks from this! I even impressed myself lol.

I pick up a small amount on my brush then give it a tap to get rid of excess product.  Doing it this way I get no fallout at all. These are smooth and buttery which I love. So highly pigmented and have such a beautiful shimmer. I have blue eyes and these colours really make my eyes pop.

I do not use primer but these stay put on my lids for a long time, such an amazing palette especially for beginners like me. It is also really compact and sturdy and great to travel with. I would happily repurchase this. Give it a go!

Great for beginners.

This is great to buy for if you don't want to splurge and want pigmented colours or if to use to practice doing makeup and playing around with eyeshadow. The warehouse also usually does a 3 for $10 sale with la colors which is amazing. Only thing is though is that it has that gross cheap makeup smell but if that doesn't bother you then it's okay. The smell isn't noticeable when applied

Bargain, long-wearing, pretty shades

I normally stay away from eyeshadows this cheap, as I have super oily eyelids and even expensive shadows struggle to stay put, but I decided to give this a go, and I was blown away. The eyeshadows come in an attractive white palette with a gold font, it feels cheap and flimsy, but that's to be expected for the price, but the case doesn't look cheap. Inside is a dual ended foam applicator, I don't know why they bother including this as its terrible for applying shadow and a brush is better. The shadows all have a zig zag print imprinted on them, which does remind me a bit of kids make up. The palette comes with 16 mostly warm toned nude shades, which is a bargain for the price. There are however only a few mattes and most are shimmers, so if you are wanting plenty of crease shades this is not for you. However, I love shimmer shades so I was stoked. Many shades in this are essential nudes but there's also some interesting shades I didn't already have in my other nude palettes like olive greens. The shadows are generally all impressively pigmented and look stunning on the eyelid. I found they have a nice buttery finish. There was a lot of fallout, but it was easy enough to brush away and for the price I am not bothered. What really blew me away was the longevity of these shadows. Now I usually find cheap shadows can be pigmented but just don't last. These have been lasting long summer days on my oily eyelids, and most eyeshadows don't. I find there is minimal creasing with these and the colour doesn't fade much. I am honestly blown away with the quality and this is a bargain, at this price you've got to give it a go.

Execellent price

Did someone say a naturals pallete for $5? Yes please, Thankyou. I purchased this beauty while in the warehouse getting "just my sons nappies" but as I do I couldn't help but walk down the makeup aisle for a "look", that is when I spotted L.A Colors eyeshadow pallete for $5! With 16 gorgeous natural colours perfect for daytime wear or adding in some smoky effect to outer corners ( can't pass up a smoky eye ) . They all have great pigment with them but do come with some fall out and shifting, would be perfect for anyone wanting to try colours out on themselves without having to fork out alot of money, or wanting to experiment in perfecting their makeup skills.

Tips: Eyeshadow primer is a must to keep it from shifting alot longer, you will need to touch up through your day x

Great for beginners

I went through a stage of just starting to build my makeup stockpile, where I was all about quantity not quality. In amongst all the cheap purchases I found a few gems and this is one of them. This one as well as the smokey palette in the same brand. For $5 you can't go wrong really! I found them really useful when my cousin had a birthday and was getting in to makeup, a couple of these and she was the happiest person on earth at that moment!

The colours reflect that of what I would call natural colours like browns and pinks and tans. Nothing overly out there but still gorgeous whilst suiting all eye and skin colours. The browns are my fave out of all of them because they can be used to create more intense smokey looks not just straight brown. I don't usually go for brown but they do have a tendency to grow on you.

The shadows themselves are quite velvety and smooth. They do however tend to have a bit of fall out off the brush so you need to get the brush to your eye quickly. I prefer to use a brush to the dual ended eye tool that's included because it doesn't blend very well. The shadow is quite shimmery which gives the eyes a whole other dimension. The lighter colours are perfect for the brow bone too which adds sparkle to your whole eye area.

The stay power is something else though. I find that my shadow creeps its way up to the crease of my lid and sits there. I am left with minimal coverage over the whole lid and a big line of shadow in my crease! Not a great look. After that I used a setting spray which helped a tad by keeping it there for a bit long but at the end of the day I still found it all migrated in to the crease. Now that I have experienced quality this one took a back seat but it is good for beginners.

Tips: Use a wet brush to get a more dramatic colour.
