Best. Product. Ever.

This amazing product came in a recent beauty box from BBBE. And I love it! It is the first time I'd heard of highlighting drops.

The product is pinky and pale and watery in a dropper top bottle. The dropper isn't much use to be fair, as the product clings to the dropper itself so I slide it off with my finger to apply it to my skin. While none of that sounds ideal exactly, the product is awesome and makes my skin look dewy and fresh. It sits on top of whatever other makeup I have on, without moving anything and I feel like it makes me look awake and healthy.

I will certainly be buying more when it runs out, and it has lasted for ages already.

I very highly recommend it. Very highly.

Tips: Wear it everyday to look glowy and fresh :)

Glowing review

I’ve had a few shocking highlighter experiences sometimes it just looks blah or I look like I haven’t got any on at all.. this was easy to use and looks great.

I was hesitant about a liquid vs powder but these were so easy to use. A little dropper that I just dab on my skin and then use my fingers or silicone blender to blend.

They sit on top of my skin as I was a bit hesitant being a liquid they would mix in with my other makeup and not be noticeable or leave me looking like I haven’t blended my makeup properly. So it’s easily set on top of the makeup and isn’t absorbed in or under it so you know it’s going to make you shine.

It’s a champagne?? Kind of colour and gives a nice shine to your skin but not in an oily way. My skin glowed and looked so fresh and not at all dry looking. It really catches the light and gives an amazing glow that some other highlighters I’ve used just don’t.

Wait for a farmers sale as I got this pretty cheap. It’s going to last a long time I haven’t used much as it goes quite far on application. I feel with this product you can’t over do it and both sides look even with minimal effort.

Very similar appearance to a shade on a $90 palette I’ve used so can’t complain with it being much cheaper.

Wake up and glow Mon Amour highlighting drops

My word....I am absolutely in love with this product. Being in my 40's my skin seems to have lost its youthful dewy complexion to make way for dull, nothing to write home about skin.

Having used two other similar products I was sceptical using this one. Was it going to look like I had fallen asleep in a bowl of glitter like I did with product 1 or will I look like I added some glow in the dark paint to my daily make up regime found with product 2? I was nervous to say the least as the contents looked quite glittery/shiny at first glace.

I added 2 drops to my daily moisturiser and rubbed it all over my face. Loved the tinted effect the product gave and wasn't too glittery at all. Smallest hint of colour means you can wear without make up for a fresh look or under make up for a dewy finish. Finished applying the rest of my makeup and added a drop to each cheekbone as indicated on the packaging. It's not too glittery or too shiny just beautifully luminous.

Got to work and immediately received a number of compliments from my co workers on how good my skin looked. Even got told I looked younger, always a PLUS, right?

Oh, one more thing I need to mention....I love the smell of the product. Subtle, cant quite figure out what it smells like. Maybe someone has an answer for this one, let me know if you figure it out!

This product will now form part of my daily regime, no doubt. Yet another great product from L'oreal. I have already recommended this product to all the ladies in my office today, so more customers hopefully coming your way!

A great intro to highlighting drops

So, this is a product I've never tried before personally. While I've had makeup artists use highlighting products on me, I've never had any at home/used any myself. So I was excited to trial these.

The L'Oreal Paris Wake Up and Glow Mon Amour Highlighting Drops make for the perfect intro to this type of product. I love how versatile they are and played around with them a lot over the past few weeks. The product is quite thick - but not overly thick. Just seems a bit weird that there's a dropper. It seemed to cling to the dropper, rather than get sucked up it so to speak. But that's ok - I could still dispense drop by drop.

How you apply it is really up to you - it is heavily pigmented so you can really experiment. You can use your fingertips and use it direct to highlight your features, you can use a makeup blender, you can apply it direct or add it to other products, like your foundation, moisturiser or primer. I loved adding a drop to my BB cream for a subtle glow during the day, and applying it directly over foundation on targeted areas. It's a great way to get to know and understand highlighting, as you can slowly build up the intensity of it.

The product lasted the day and didn't feel heavy or clogging on my skin. It came off simply with Micellar water, and didn't cause any irritation on my sensitive skin. The simple drop dispenser means this will last quite some time too. A great product I'll be adding to my routine!

Tips: Experiment - start with a simple drop mixed into your base creams and slowly build up.

Sparkling Love

L'Oreal Paris Wake Up & Glow Mon Amour Highlighting Drops in 'Sparkling Love' are an iridescent champagne coloured liquid, packaged in a generous 15ml glass bottle with a dropper applicator.

These highly pigmented liquid illuminator drops contain shea butter and coconut oil, and they blend seamlessly into foundation or on bare skin.

The drops can be used in a number of ways:  they can be used on bare skin for a no make-up look; two drops can be used all over for a radiant glow, or one drop in targeted areas (like on the cheekbones); the drops can be applied on their own over foundation, or mixed into foundation, primer, or moisturiser before being applied; and they can be blended with a beauty blender or with fingers.  I applied mine with my fingers and they were really easy to blend with a light tapping motion.

I don't even think I needed one full drop to apply it to my cheekbones, on top of my foundation.  Half a drop (or a light tap of the finger to the side of the dropper worked), and the 15ml bottle is going to last ages!

My first impression was, "Wow, this is really shimmery." But once it had been blended, all that was left was a beautiful, light reflective glow.

I really do like these drops.  They're a multi-purpose item, a little goes a long way, and they do help to brighten a dull or tired looking complexion, while also reflecting light and acting as a highlighter.  I'd definitely recommend these to someone who is looking for a fantastic highlighting product.

Tips: Use less that you think you need, you can always add more.

Shine Bright like a Diamond

I don't have much experience with liquid highlighter, but I do love my highlighting powder and even when I'm doing light makeup I ALWAYS do a little highlighter to brighten up my face!

I was super excited to try this one, it looks so absolutely gorgeous in the bottle and has a great little dropper to apply to the face. I tend to go for a more dewy look, and figured this would also really help achieve a natural dewy glow. At first I thought I put too much on, and felt it was a little streaky, but once I spent some time really patting it into my upper cheek with my finger tips, I really saw the end result. I have never had a glow like that with powder before, it was the perfect dewy summer glow that I've been craving my whole life! What a winner of a product! The shade was great, and a little goes such a long way, I would absolutely purchase again but who knows when I'll ever run out?! I think I will be wearing this A LOT this summer, and it can definitely be built on for a night time look, or as I said, kept subtle for a day time glow. I will certainly experiment with this more, maybe even add it to some foundation for an all over shimmer.

If you're on the fence about liquid highlighter, I would highly suggest grabbing this as a start, or as your new holy grail. This is truly a beautiful product.

Tips: Start with a little, and build to your desired shine, make sure to reallllly pat it into your face for an even highlight.

Get your glow on!

First off thanks so much BR for the opportunity to be part of this amazing trial. I have never used anything like this before so was very excited to try it out.

It comes in a stylish looking 15ml glass bottle with a dropper. I got the shade 01 sparkling love, a pale pinky/peachy colour. There is a label which you peel back and it has instructions on how to use.  Simply add a few drops to your skincare or add a drop on cheekbones.

It is a thin consistency, a little really does go a long way. While it is only 15ml it will last forever.  The dropper is a bit useless as the product seems to stick to it so I just get a tiny bit on my finger. My favourite way to use it is applying on my cheekbones then blending in with my fingertips.  It sits perfectly on top of my makeup and gives me a beautiful glow.

I was a bit worried it would make me look like an oil slick but it makes me look fresh and dewy. My skin is dry and can look dull so this really livens it up.

What an awesome wee product. I don't think I would ever have tried this if I wasn't part of this trial. I think $30 is a fantastic price and I would definitely purchase this when the bottle is eventually empty.

GORGEOUS product, but my skin reacted to it

I got LÓreal Paris Wake Up and Glow Mon Amour Highlighting Drops in the '01 Sparkling Love' shade. My review is a bit of a mixed bag in that I really loved this product and wanted to keep using it, but for some reason my skin reacted to it.

These highlighting drops are attractively packaged in a small, see-through glass bottle, with a rose gold lid and white drop applicator. It looks luxurious and sparkles inside the see-through glass bottle.

The dropper is a bit unusual in that I assume it's meant to suck up the liquid and squeeze it out, but instead the liquid seems to stick to the dropper - perhaps because the formula is quite thick in texture. It doesn't come out of the dropper as cleanly as it appears to in the picture above. Not a biggie, but the dropper just doesn't seem to act as a dropper should so perhaps a wee bit of a design flaw there. I ended up kind of 'dabbing' a few of the drops on to my finger tips rather than attempting to squeeze the liquid out of the dropper. You only need to use a few drops at a time, particularly if you use it solely as a highlighter. A little seems to go a long way, so it's economical.

It's also a versatile product. You can use it purely as a highlighter, you can mix it in with your foundation, apply it after your foundation or even use it as a primer. If your skin is reasonably blemish-free and even-toned, you could even get away with using it INSTEAD of foundation. I guess it depends on how much coverage you need and what skin issues you may or may not have. It's up to you how you use this product. It's definitely a multi-tasker. I chose to use a few of these drops over the top of foundation. I blended it in evenly and it made my skin glow and took away any dullness instantly. WOW!! My skin looked luminous, it sparkled and I felt younger, like a Queen ...for about 5 minutes...until the stinging sensation started to occur.

Unfortunately my skin reacted to these drops, which was a shame as I really did love how this product looked once applied. It made my skin sparkle and glow and was the perfect way to counteract any dullness. The stinging sensation increased so I had to get the makeup remover out pretty quickly. I don't have overly sensitive skin and hardly ever react to makeup products, so it really was disappointing and if I hadn't had a reaction, I'd probably still have those lovely luminous drops on now!

This product is a great way to get your glow on because it makes your skin look radiant, dewy and gorgeous. But I obviously can't personally use it. That's not to say you shouldn't. Everybody's skin is different and just because I had a reaction doesn't mean you will. It definitely does what it claims to do and gives your skin a healthy, radiant glow. So I can't criticise it at all in that regard, I can only say that it's not for my skin.

Tips: A little goes a long way, a few drops at a time is probably all you need, particularly if you're only using it as a highlighter.

L'Oreal Paris Wake Up and Glow Mon Amour Highlight

I was lucky to get on the Beauty Review trial for these Highlighting drops. The glass bottle is quite cute. Fits in the palm of my hand. It has a shiny, rose gold top with a white grip tip, which looks like an ink dropper. (Sounds weird, but it looks cute.) You can see the highlighting drops liquid through the tiny glass bottle. It looks like shiny, nail polish liquid in a pale, light colour that glistens. The shade is 01 Sparkling Love and there's 15ml of Glow Mon Amour in the little bottle.

The lid is easy to twist off and when you do so, the ink dropper is covered in the highlighter drops which has a similar consistency and look to nail polish. It has a slight fragrance which is pleasant. It's not too strong, it's a subtle scent. I tested this out on my hand first by squeezing the dropper tip and then swatched it on my hand. It came out as a 'drop' then I rubbed it across my skin on my hand. The swatch looked a shiny, pearl-like colour. I have olive toned skin so this shade was lighter when applied to my skin but once it's rubbed it, it does highlight. It is Metallic and when I moved my hand, I could see it shimmering. I rubbed it in more and it blended in good with my skin.

I first tried this as part of my morning make up routine. After I washed my face and moisturised I applied Glow Mon Amour.

The dropper tip is easy to use. A few drops on different areas of my face was enough. You don't need a lot. Just highlight areas where the light hits your face naturally. The drops are cool to the touch when they drop onto your skin. I used my blender sponge to dab it in. It absorbed into my skin and I could see it was metallic and shimmery. After that, I applied a light coat of light Thin Lizzy 6-in-1 mineral powder all over my face lightly. Areas of my cheekbones, nose, chin and on the side of my forehead were highlighted and looked glowy. When I looked in the mirror and tilted my face in different directions. I could see Glow Mon Amour luminating parts of my face.

The next couple of days, I tried these highlighter drops, doing the same in my makeup routine each morning. During the day, I got compliments from my family that I was 'glowing'. I like the glow look it gives although, I probably won't be using Glow Mon Amour every day. I would recommend using these if you're having date night or Girl's night or got an event to get glammed up for or, if you like to put on full make up every day. They do make your skin glow though. I would say, less is more and one bottle would probably last awhile.

I will be continuing to use Glow Mon Amour and see how it goes until this product is empty. I don't think I would purchase myself as I'm more of a moisturiser and powder foundation gal but I will be recommending to my friends who are into face highlighters.

Highlighting without the price tag

There are some well known highlighting products out there (e.g. Benefit, Mac) that do some amazing things. I was skeptical that this could live up to these other more well known products and I have to admit it's a really good (and cheaper!) alternative. The glow is pretty and enough that you can tell you've got something on. The gold shade may not suit all skin tones, however I find it works great on the inner corner of your lids too.

Tips: Don't be too heavy handed with these, put too much and you could end up looking quite metallic.
