L'Oreal Paris Revitalift Laser Pure Retinol Night Serum

I am a long time retinol user, including prescription grade, so I wasn’t expecting any adverse effects from this one. I still cautiously introduced it, twice a week to start, then every second day in the second week and then every night for the last few days of using it. I also ensured that I wore sunscreen every day. I did not experience any irritation at all. My skin did feel drier than normal though, the morning after the last night of trialling it.

This serum is easy to use as you only need a few drops applied to a clean face and as it is quite thin, it spreads easily. You then just apply a moisturiser afterwards and that’s it (this is known as ‘buffering’ and also lessens the chance of any irritation.) I find this great for nights I don’t feel like doing an elaborate routine but still want to get results. The trial period was not long enough to gauge the results of this product as retinol is a marathon not a sprint. But no irritation during that time is a result in itself. From previous retinol use, this product is comparable so I would expect to see results over time.

One thing I don’t like about this product, and it’s the same for every L’Oréal product that I’ve tried, and that is the smell. I find all L’Oréal products to be heavily perfumed and this is really unnecessary in facial products. This alone is enough to put me off purchasing this.

I will keep using this product until it’s finished but it won’t replace my usual retinol and I’ll probably just alternate it with that. I also prefer to use a retinol once or twice a week as there are other skincare products l like to use, such as exfoliating acids, which can’t be used at the same time as retinols. If you’re a first time with retinols and you don’t mind heavily perfumed products, then this could be the one for you.

I’d never used a retinol product before and this is a pure retinol product (0.2%) which is known to be more effective in fighting signs of aging.

To give my skin time to adjust to the L'Oreal Paris Revitalift Laser Pure Retinol Night Serum I started slowly, using it twice in the first week, every second night in the second week and then pretty much every day, wearing an SPF30 moisturiser the during the day.

While getting 3-4 drops out of the classy glass bottle with a pipette seemed harder than it sounds (quite a thick, surprisingly white serum) it easily spread over my face and absorbed quickly. I follow it with night cream.

As well as my skin being more moisturised, radient and smooth (as promised on the box!), an area of pigmentation has significantly faded and I have fewer blemishes. I’ve noticed some minor dry skin peeling and some occasions my skin has felt sensitive and gone quite red, but these effects have definitely not been enough to put me off continuing.

At the end of the first week my eyebrows were due for waxing and I the fact my skin would be more prone to burning in this manner never crossed my mind! It hurt a lot more than usual and the area was sensitive a good 24 hours but I was lucky that visually there was really no damage. When I was bothered by the post wax tenderness something back in my memory led me to google the link between retinol and burns and I will be sure not to do this again.

I’d have loved to try the L'Oreal Paris Revitalift Laser Pure Retinol Night Serum in conjunction with the Laser Night Moisturiser recommended as a companion product on the box. I also look forward to seeing the results after several months of use.

Loved it! After the first use i could feel the difference in my skin texture. Its a nice silky texture, super easy to add to the routine, 4 drops is enough to cover my face, I will continue to use it as the cost is relative to size, Although I have seen a difference in the deeper laugh lines, some fine lines are starting to disappear.

I was very interested to see the results of this trial and was excited to be chosen! The packaging was very basic and informative and the serum came in a glass bottle with a dropper and was very pleasant smelling. The serum on smoothly and made my skin feel really good. The instructions recommended using it twice a week for the first week then alternate nights on the second week so your skin can build a tolerance to the serum. I did as instructed but other than my skin feeling soft and smooth and some skin peeling on my nose, I didnt really notice much of difference to be honest. I'm not sure if it was because the trial wasnt long enough but I'm keen to keep using and update this review later as it says on the box that results can take up to 4 months.

I was very excited to try this night serum by L'Oreal Paris. This is a brand that I have always liked. Great quality products at a fantastic price point. I am in my late 30's and I have noticed over the last couple of years some changes to my skin, mainly in the way of lines, sagging and uneven skin texture so this is one product I need!

My first impressions were that I liked the packaging. The box is informative and the bottle stylish and easy to use with the dropper. I didn't mind the smell, it is fitting in what I would expect from L'Oreal quite floral but not too strong when applied to the skin.

I applied the serum as directed. Week one, I used it twice, week two I used it every other night, and entering week three I will use it nightly as tolerated. In the morning I made sure to use an SPF and was much better with wearing hats compared to normal! The serum glided on nicely and felt nice on the skin when first applied.

The first week I wasn't too sure about this product as my skin did break out in places and felt more oily than usual. By week two my skin had settled down. I didn't experience any redness, tingling, or dryness which can be common when using retinol products.

I found that after a couple of weeks my skin texture is starting to improve and it is looking smoother and feels well moisturized. I am looking forward to seeing what the improvements are after I have used it for longer.

At this stage, I would recommend it to people who a looking for a serum who want to improve the overall condition of their skin. I haven't noticed much change to my lines however I wouldn't expect this yet as the box says in 4 months there will be a visible reduction to deep wrinkles. Time will tell but so far I have been very happy with this serum.

I was very excited to get to trial this product as I'm on the otherwise of 40 and starting to see a few signs of time passing by. I love the colour of the bottle the product comes in, such an amazing blue, it always stays out on my vanity as an extra splash of colour. The serum is very easy to use applying 3-4 drops twice a week fir the first week, every second day for the second and every day for the third. The product has a lovely fresh fragrance and it absorbs quickly into the skin. I found four drops to be sufficient to do my face and neck so I feel the bottle would last a few months at least. Writing this review I have only just got to the end of the second week of use but I have found there has been some improvement to my skin. There may be a slight reduction in some of my fine lines in my smile area but the appearance of my skin has definitely improved. I feel that my skins texture seems smoother and it isn't as dry or tired as it had been. I didn't experience any redness or tingling that the accompanying information said could occur which I found surprising as my skin can be sensitive at times. I'm very interested to see what the results will be after a month's usage.

I was so happy to be selected for this trial. I'm a HUGE fan of L'oreal's serums especially, and to see them introduce a retinol product, this really does round out their serum offering.

Like L'oreal's other serums, this retinol serum is in the signature glass bottle with dropper. The serum itself has a mild scent to it - consistent with their other products. The scent doesn't linger on the skin.

I only needed a couple of drops of serum, after cleansing at night. The serum is absorbed into the skin very quickly. It doesn't leave the skin feeling tacky. I popped a hydrating night cream over top, and woke to plump, bright, super smooth skin.

There were very specific instructions on introducing retinol to my routine, which I followed, and didn't encounter any reaction to the retinol. By the 3rd week, I've been using it daily with no issues. I didn't even encounter any flakey skin at any stage of use, which has been my experience with all the retinol products I've tried prior. Perhaps the formula is slightly milder, but personally I like that my skin didn't react in any way.

In the short time using it, my skin is definitely smoother, feels hydrated and the fine lines are definitely minimised. I think the deeper lines need a bit more time to be noticeably reduced. This product is definitely about being consistent and building up usage to get the results. I love it.

I look forward to comparing my skin in a few more months and seeing how the deeper wrinkles are looking. Definitely recommend this product for anyone wanting to introduce retinol to their skin care. It's a great price and like other L'oreal serums, a strong performer.

This magical wee serum comes in a stylish blue bottle and promises to do great things! I followed the instructions about staging use for the first week or so - retinol can irritate skin. I didn't experience any irritation at all, but I'm glad I staged the introduction of the product just to be sure. I used at night prior to moisturiser. The serum is white and glides nicely on to the skin. It does have quite a strong perfumy smell, which I don't love, but I'm willing to ignore for the results! Almost immediately, I noticed that my skin was smoother after using the serum. The next morning my skin looked glowing and felt smooth. Given these promising results, I'm excited about what the other benefits that this promises. I've given this one a 4 because I think it needs a bit more time to really determine the true rating. It will be interesting to review again in 4-5 months to see whether lines and wrinkles have faded.

I looked forward to reviewing this product because it contains 0.2% pure Retinol which I know is such a powerful ingredient in a skin care regime. I followed the initial instructions and am now using it nightly and have experienced no side effects as suggested on the box. It has a creamy consistency and is easy to apply - I am using 4-5 drops and it absorbs well. The product is well presented and the lid is very secure. I apply it at night after cleansing to my warm and slightly damp face and it absorbs well, and it doesn’t make my face feel uncomfortably sticky and tight like other serums I have used. My skin is feeling more supple, smoother and tighter already and I have noticed particularly that the creepy skin around my eye area has softened and lessened already. Overall my face is looking plumper and my wrinkles are less prominent. It is still early days but I really am really pleased with what I see so far and am looking forward to working my way through the bottle with more pleasing results as time goes on. I would certainly recommend it to others - why wouldn’t I when the box says - 0.2% Retinol Delivered Straight To The Skin !
