A bit of a clunky applicator

This mascara has a very unusual applicator, with very small plastic bristles. It does live up to its reputation of being clump free, but also doesnt offer much volume. I find that the applicator is very large and unweildy, and often leaves a line of mascara at the base of my lashes. I also have difficulty capturing the end lashes with the shape of the applicator.

I purchased the waterproof variety and true to its name it doesnt slip off my lashes by mid day with my notoriously teary eyes. I do find that this can flake a bit if you rub your eyes at the end of the day so it is not completely bulletproof. I find that it is quite easy to remove at the end of the day which is a bonus.

Unfortunately this mascara is only okay in my opinion. Will continue to see if I can get the knack of the applicator in order to get a better result

No need for falsies

This is a thick formula with a weird rubber brush. These things scream fail to me, but somehow - they work!

My fine lashes look thicker but not clumpy, long but not spidery. It really does give fluttery butterfly lashes.

This mascara has a really fresh smell, which is weird, but not unpleasant. (wanna sniff my eyelashes? said no woman ever....)

Bit expensive but I pick it up on special during beauty week.

Lovely packaging.

Tips: Gently zig zag/wiggle the brush.

Easy on the lower lashes!!

WOW

Mascara is one of those products I use daily but don't give much thought. I read the claims but honestly don't expect any to really stand out.

Except this one. I picked it up from my local pharmacy on special. I liked the packaging, very stylish.

It's a rubber applicator/brush (things have changed since I first started using mascara!) and it applies like a dream. No clumps, no excess product, just a really clean application.

One coat is enough for day wear, two is perfect for a dramatic evening look.

I think price wise it's pretty on point, especially as I've tried much more expensive mascaras and gotten poor results!

Fluttery Lashes

I recieved this mascara in the ball season BBBE. I'd noticed the discrepancy in reviews for this mascara so I wasn't all that excited to test it out, but i've been pleasantly surprised.

The packaging makes this mascara stand out from others, it's a big shiny bullet type thing. The brush is rubber, which I was slightly concerned about as I've had mostly underwhelming experiences with rubber mascara brushes in the past. The bristles are surprisingly short, I was very doubtful that it was going to be any good. As the bristles of this brush are so pewny, they dont hold much much of the mascara formula which I find is a good thing as it minimizes the chance of clumpage. In fact, I haven't had any issue with clumpage at all with this mascara.

It applies lovely, fanning out lashes as promised and is perfect for getting the bottom lashes without making a mess. I generally use a lash curler prior to mascara application, but this does such a good job that the curler is not needed. With 3 coats of this mascara I really like how my lashes look; long, fanned, fluttery, separated nicely and not too thick. It's also quite easy to remove.

This is a pretty great mascara in my opinion and reasonably priced, I'd repurchase and recommend.

Fly My Pretties

This is my new holy grail mascara.

Previously Benefit's They're Real held a special place in my heart for creating bold lashes, but L'Oreal's False Lash Butterfly Wings blows it out of the park.

First of all, the packaging is beautiful. So sleek and silvery. Secondly, the formula is perfection. Not too thick, not too thin, it glides on my lashes without clumping and doesn't smudge, and my lashes are left looking big, black, long and bold. Thirdly, that wand. I mean. Wow. It really helps to create a butterfly effect - my lashes fan out and up, and, wow. Lastly? At under $30 it's a bargain.

I recommended this to a friend who bought it and she loves it too, which leaves me quietly confident that this mascara is the real deal - and everyone should own one.

Does what it says

I was so fortunate to receive this in the 'ball season' BBBE. I'm so bad, verrrry bad, I already have a couple of mascaras open and on the go but I opened this as soon as I received the box. I think I wanted to know if it really could give the butterfly wing effect, I mean come on could it REALLY?

Packaging wise this comes in a larger than needed box, but the colours of metallic green and purple look pretty and very appealing. The packaging of mascara tube is funky in a mirrored silver finish.

I open the tube the be greeted by a smell, a familiar kind of smell, it's the Natio brand scent that I dislike, it's like an aloe Vera/perfume kind of scent. It's quite strong but I'm still interested to see this brush. I am then looking at the brush, rubber looking bristles that a long for the 1st third of the wand and the rest look very short and stubby. It is sort of curved and it is making me wonder how it's going to 'flutter' my lashes.

I start applying to my top lashes and I do notice my lashes spread out and give that butterfly wing effect, I really didn't think it would work but it did. The formula of the mascara is very wet I find it takes quite a while for it to dry. So I try my best not to look up or down so I'm not getting mascara around my eye. I apply 2 coats and it gives good length and makes my lashes look thick.

I love this mascara for something a bit different than the usual. I love how this product does live up to its claim, I was very sceptical at first. Since I received this I haven't reached for any other mascaras and would probably repurchase again.

False Lash Butterfly, from B.B.Box, The Ball.

Yessss! I was really stoked as this was in the ball box that I bought lately.. Love this mascara, such a cleverly designed brush and it really does work to seperate and flare out the lashes so they "flutter" nicely! Not sure if the formula I got is waterproof, but i was out in rain and did not budge or flake.. So must be? Black, black pigmentation, not only lengthens but thickens, which I loved too.. All in all I can say that it 'did what the box says' for sure!

Tips: Definitely do not let dry between coats.. And, it's all in the angle and way that you hold the brush, as to how it will go on your eyelashes so have patience and work with the brush to achieve perfectly winged lashes..

Va va voom

Wow this mascara certainly does give your lashes lots of volume and length. The colour is a jet black. As the name suggests, this mascara gives your lashes a nice curl and creates a winged effect where your outer lashes are coated in more mascara and are longer. It has the effect of wearing false eyelashes.

The brush and wand is quite unique, it's a different shape which I have never seen before. The brush is made of hard plastic, opposed to bristles which I am used to, and is in the shape of a cat eye flick. The brush has tiny teeth which separates your lashes so that the mascara coats every lash.

The formula is nice, applies easily and coats your lashes evenly. This mascara didn't clump throughout the day or flake. This mascara is also waterproof, and it really is waterproof. I wore this mascara out in the rain and also cried a lot while wearing it (I attended a funeral), and this mascara didn't budge at all. My lashes still looked perfect at the end of the day.

The mascara tube itself, the packaging, is a little bulky and fatter to other mascara tubes I have used. The tube is a silver blue that is tapered at the top and bottom. The front of the tube has a striped design.

Overall, I really liked this mascara and I think it's very good. It creates long, full looking ladies great for a night out. I would definitely purchase this again.

Fluttering eyelashes

I am currently using this mascara, deciding to give it a go after seeing the interestingly shaped brush. I like skinny brushes so I can get the mascara into the corner lashes, and this does exactly that.

I am not using the waterproof formula, but it still waterproof and it doesn't run throughout a sweaty gym session.

There seems to be a couple of ways to use the brush. If you hold it in the angle it was designed, and keep it parallel to your lashes, you get a nice thin coating, which can be built up. If you hold it against the lashes at a harder angle then you get more mascara on the lashes and get a thicker coat which sticks some of the lashes together. I think that is what a few people have complained about previously but I find it useful. If I want a quick thick lash effect, apply it one way, if I want a defined seperated lashes, use it the other.

Barely any clumping on this one either, the formula is 95% smooth.

For me this is as good as Covergirl Clump Crusher, but with a better brush. I am having a hard time deciding whether my next mascara will be this one or Clump Crusher again - they are both great.

Butterfly lumps

The brush for this mascara annoys me a lot. Because it has a 4D structure with some brush inside an outside brush, the mascara clumps. Grrr

Tips: Replace the brush with a different one, the mascara itself it great.
