Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder Review

I’ve been a massive fan of hourglass for ages now but this powder is the star of the show for me. It gives me a soft glow without sparkle or glitter and also helps to blur my many imperfections-haha! The powder is extremely finely milled- if not a smidge delicate, so be careful when traveling with this one. I use this most of the time as my setting powder although is really best suited as a finishing powder as is not as effective when it’s mid summer or to give me all day longevity of my makeup. Will forever repurchase this one.

This is one of the best powders you can buy! It's expensive but so worth it. It blurs pores, makes my skin look smooth and radiant, doesn't emphasize fine lines and feels so light on my skin. I don't have a full-sized powder but I have three of the powders in Dim Light, Diffused Light and Radiant light.

Dim Light - a neutral peach beige powder that blurs imperfections and highlights a radiant complexion with the perfect balance of warm and cool tones. Diffused Light - a soft, warm, pale yellow powder that conceals redness and gives skin clarity—like a soft ray of morning light. Radiant Light - a sun-kissed golden beige that enhances overall complexion with believable, subtle warmth, and also extends a summer glow.

I really like using either Dim or Diffused Light all over my face to sort of set my makeup and then I like to use Radiant Light lightly all over to give a bit of a bronzed glow but then I like to use it as a very subtle bronzer and I have done a touch of contouring with it as well. As far as as setting powder goes it doesn't give a matte finish it gives a subtle glow. I really don't see a huge difference between the effects I get from using Dim or Diffused Light to set my makeup but Radiant Light is like a bronzer for me. I can also use this to set under my eyes and it doesn't make my under eye concealer crease. I only have a few grams of each of these powders but they have lasted me a long time and they're my most reached for setting powder. The only drawback I can think off besides being expensive is if you want your makeup to look shine free all day this won't stop your face from getting shiny or needing a touch up. But still I would definitely repurchase these, especially Radiant Light.

I love to use this powder as a bronzer! I find its such a great tone for my skin colour, and provides a nice bronzed look without being too orange or too dark. It blends out so well and I never seem to have any harsh lines.

I have this in ethereal light and dim light and I love them both! Such a lightweight powder, that sets your base really well without looking powdery or heavy. It adds a subtle radiance to your skin, and doesn't make my skin feel dry and mask like as some powders can.

I also LOVE this as a touch up powder, as it doesn't cake or look heavy, even when applied over a full face which has been on all day! Takes down the excess shine and adds a slight boots of colour without being too much

I cannot rave about this product enough OH MY LIFE. I purchased the ambient lighting palette with the 3 powders first and just had to purchase the full size of dim light because it is BOMB.

I use this as an all over face powder over my base and serrrrriiiioooouuusly. You can't understand till you try it but it gives my skin such an air brushed, natural looking glow and evens out my complexion amazingly. I don't know, it's magical. So damm good.

It is pricey but it does last a LONG time. I used the one in my palette every day for a good few months and still haven't hit pan on it and so I'm sure the big one will last a decent amount of time.

There's also just something about the Hourglass packaging and everything that feels so luxurious. Ok I'm done. 10/10, 100% yes yes yessssss.

I was given the ambient lighting playlet for Christmas and I'm so glad I was given it. To begin with I only really used the blush but have since fallen in love with diffused light for setting my under eyes and dim light for setting my whole face.

These powders gives my skin a soft air brushed glow and it leaves me looking youthful and healthy even on the days I have struggled out of bed.

When ever I wear these powder I get so many compliments on my skin. I al looking forward to adding more of these to my collection in the future.

I'd had the ambient lighting palette for a while and hadn't even considered getting any more Hourglass powders until I started seeing KirstyJ raving about her Diffused Light powder. A powder with a yellow tint that helps combat redness? Yes please!

So I picked it up. It certainly wasn't $50 - I'm assuming this is the American price? Mine was $76, and worth every penny. It's a good sized powder and is the same beautiful, silky formula that all ambient powders are.

I use this powder every single day to "finish" my makeup. I don't use this instead of a setting powder as I find it really does work best as a "finishing powder" once all your makeup, including setting powder, has been applied. The only thing I apply after this powder is my highlight.

This powder really is the perfect tone for my fair, redness prone skin. It helps combat the redness and gives it such a healthy finish. If I don't use this powder my makeup looks so much more cakey by the end of the day, it keeps my cake face looking more like skin. I love it and will definitely repurchase!

I have Radiant Light, Dim Light and Luminious Light and will probably be buying the rest in the near future. The effect of these $50 powders is so subtle that I really can't justify buying them. BUT I think it's a combination of the pretty packaging, pretty product and pretty shades that makes me go back for more.

I watched people use thei I'm YouTube tutorials all the time and their skin went from dull to fresh and glowing and I was deeply jealous, I ordeded the dim lite and fell in love with the way my skin looked with this powder on. I gently blot it on my face especially in the areas I want that natural looking glow and my complexion immediately transforms ! I'm so happy with this setting powder !
