VO5 Heat Protect Styling Spray

I was super hesitant to try this as my hair really, really disliked VO5s shampoo and conditioner.

My boyfriends sister had purchased this and decided she didn't like it and asked me if I wanted it. I accepted, thinking that if I disliked it I could pass it onto a friend.

I was quite pleasantly surprised that this boxed well with my hair. It definitely protected it against my flat irons, and helped my hair look shiny and soft. I really liked that my hair didn't feel 'crispy' after using this, as I have had that happen in the past with heat protectant sprays.

The spray pump itself is accurate and doesn't create a mess and I think the packaging is quite funky and cute. It is nicely scented which I like, and it helped my frizz ness a little but not majorly.

Once I've finished all of my heat Protectants I'd likely purchase this because I like how it looks and feels (and smells), on my hair. My hair tends to be a bit temperamental with products so I was stoked that it liked this.

I straighten my hair religiously, so I do a lot of damage to it. I pull this stuff out only when I know I'm going to be washing it out again within a day or so. It definitely does the job, but leave my hair quite heavy, and if I don't wash it out my face is oiled up by the next day. I imagine it would be a dream on really, really dry hair but in my case it is reserved for ultimate heat.

I didn't have great expectations regarding this product as I've tried many others of similar type which didn't seem to work at all except make my hair feel sticky and heavy. So I gave up searching for some time until I got this product for review and surprisingly I'm not at all disappointed. The bottle is a cute pink and well sized fitting most handbags for it's 200 ml. It promises to keep your hair protected up to 230 degrees which is great if you need higher temperatures to style your hair. Not only does it protect your hair from heat as it also gives it a healthier shinny look and leaves you with a soft heavenly scented hair. The spray pump with a useful travel friendly lock/unlock button on one side distributes the product in a fine spray for full coverage.I noticed that four pumps is enough for my hair (shoulder length) so It will probably last for some time. This product definitely ticks all the boxes in my list and if you are looking for a cost effective styling heat protecting product this does it all!

First of all always a fan of pink so love the packaging, really liked the lock button on spray to push when wanted to lock the spray. I wash my hair every 3 days so made sure to use my spray by their directions which is to spray generously on towel dried hair before drying or styling. The smell was gorgeous fresh and light. So the product it self promises to deliver frizz free shine and I think it fairly lived up to that, considering it is a supermarket brought item and very affordable I was happy with what it did. I didn't however like the feel after blow drying it had that slightly dense feel that products leave in your hair however upon using it the next day before straightening and on unwashed hair it was awesome, it did give me frizz free hair with a fair not a highly noticeable shine. My hair still felt light and knowing I was using something to protect it while straightening was a big bonus.

I have to say I can be a bit of a hair snob, as I normally only buy haircare products from hairdressers, with most items being Kerastase and Loreal.

So I was very interested to try the V05 Heat Protect Styling Spray, as it's a cheaper product that you can buy from the supermarket.

When I sprayed it on my hair the mist distributed lightly over my hair and didn't weigh it down like other products I have tried. I then blowdried my hair straight using my paddle brush.

I have to say I was impressed how this product tamed the frizz, giving me a straight, glossy finish to my hair- which lasted a couple of days! . I also loved the hot pink bottle and handy lockable feature for the spray pump.

The only downside to this styling spray was the floral type fragrance, which I found rather overpowering.

However, I found this product to be just as good as the expensive brands, and it more than does the job - the V05 Heat Protect Styling Spray is definitely on my shopping list from now on!

I am usually really fond of VO5 products...Being someone with very thick hair I rely heavily on my hair straightener. I always use a heat protector to stop my hair becoming dry and split and was really excited to be chosen to try this.

The smell is initially put me off - to me it smells like a mans aftershave, and I can still smell it. I followed the instructions and proceeded to style my hair as usual.

After I had styled my hair, it looked and felt super greasy - the promise to add shine to my hair did just that, only not the type of shine you would want. I also started to get a really itchy and irritated scalp from the product.

I don't think it is something I will be using again, mainly due to the reaction I had from it but also the look of greasy hair just doesn't do it for me.

This is a great heat protectant available from the supermarket. I am also not a fan of the shampoos as they don't do anything to my hair and also prefer another supermarket brand but to my surprise i actually enjoyed this product. I found that this has a lovely scent. I have found that if i use this before heat styling my hair it feels smooth afterwards and looks healthy instead of looking dry and damaged. For me this stuff lasts a year as i only heat style my hair in the weekend.

I was so excited to try this product on my thick coarse hair, straightening daily is essential to tame my locks so I really hoped this product would be good. I liked the look of the bottle, nice size and I thought the pump spray would be good. I know this sounds sad but I actually found the pump handle a bit awkward to use at first but it did get easier. I loved the smell of the product, it is light and fresh. My damp hair was easy to comb through after application however that is probably where the positives end. Once I started drying my hair, my hair started to feel sticky and claggy. My hair felt heavy after drying and had less shine than with my usual products. I persevered for the trial period but today used my usual products to make a comparison. I could see and feel a visible difference, sorry but I won't be continuing to use this spray. However I would still recommend it for others to try because as everyone's hair is different it may well work for others :-)

I by chance actually just bought this product yesterday as they didn't stock my regular brand. It was on special which always helps too! I've just used it for the first time and found it really lovely to use. It has a salon-type fragrance to it, and I did apply 4-5 sprays on my hair, and just dried it with a hairdryer. It's LESS frizzy than it normally is which is fantastic, feels nice and light and I'm not sure about shine but I didn't buy it for that. You can also lock the nozzle using a button on the side which would be great for travelling. It's also a handy size and fits comfortably in your hand. I'm really liking this product and it's worked really well. I have quite fine hair.

I bought this as it was on special. I definitely noticed a difference the first time I used it. I have fine hair so its been great definitely recommend it
