Best hair dryer I've owned

Love this hair dryer. I have long thick hair so it can be a mission to dry! This dryer makes it so much quicker and I love all the different settings. Very powerful and makes my hair lovely after a wash.

Tips: Blast your hair with cold air at the end to reduce the frizz!

No longer a chore

I was lucky enough to be gifted one of these and oh my gosh! It is amazing!

A bit of hair background - I have long salon blonde hair which can often take a while to dry as there is so much of it, I do suffer from frizzy hair and naturally my hair is wavy.

Before being gifted this I didn't think there was anything wrong with my old hairdryer at all and a new one wasn't even on my list to buy. Until I used this. It's lightweight, quieter and does the job in half the time! I instantly replaced my old one with it!

It has a temperature and speed settings on the handle which you can adjust easily but I don't find myself accidentally changing them when I use it unlike my last hairdryer which I would always accidentally change to cool and surprise myself.

Having this product has made me not mind drying my hair now it no longer feels like a chore. This hair dryer may be a bit more pricey but it is definitely worth the money! If your on the lookout for a new hairdryer or you are over drying your hair definitely try this one! I highly recommend it!

3Q Hair Dryer - Quick or what?

My daughter tried to persuade me to buy this product so she could use it but I was not convinced that it was as good as it was made out to be. In the end, she bought it and raved about it so much that I decided to try her one. It looked really clunky and I was so surprised at how light it was when I picked it up! This baby definitely has some grunt power behind it and beats my one by a long shot. Not only is it more powerful and lighter than my one, it also dries my hair so much quicker. Its 2200 watt power with three heat and two speed settings give you lots of versatility and options. I've tried a number of these variations depending on how much time I have to dry my hair and I was extremely impressed at how well it performed. I have ditched mine now and use my daughters! If you buy this when it's on sale like my daughter did, it's a steal, and if you don't have a hair drier then this is the one to buy. Don't bother looking anywhere else.

Blew me away!

Wholly moley this hair dryer blew me away at how amazing it is. Before using this hair dryer I never fussed about using expensive hair tools etc. But boy was I certainly proved wrong. It was time to buy a new hair dryer and I was very reluctant to spend big bucks on a new one. My old one was still in working condition but I felt like it was going to pack it in soon. I got super excited when I saw this hair dryer on a trial as it sounded like the perfect hair dryer for me and I was guttered I didn't get on the trial. When I saw a couple of the reviews and the discount voucher I received as a BR member I decided to bite the bullet and treat myself by purchasing this hair dryer.

I have very thick and long hair which takes ages to dry. I used to spend about 20-30 mins drying my hair. I often wash my hair at night so waiting for my hair to air dry was not practical for me as it would cut into my sleeping time. Because I would blow dry my hair often I did find that it made my hair very dry and damaged. Since using this hair dryer, my drying time has been cut in half. It now takes me about 10 minutes to dry my hair which is amazing. I have also found that this hair dryer is less damaging on my hair, and my hair feels softer and less coarse. I have noticed that my hair is a little shinier as well, but not terribly noticeable.

As for quietness, I do find that this hair dryer is still loud but in saying that the motor is 2200 watts which is pretty powerful compared to my old hair dryer! So I'd say the noise level is acceptable given the size of the motor. The air stream is so powerful that it knocked over a lipstick on my dresser.

Because of the size of the motor and the power it has, the actual size of the hair dryer is a bit on the big side. It's no travel size put it that way. I end up having to switch the dryer between hands when using it, but this is what I tend to do when drying my hair anyway. I part my hair in two sections, top and bottom, then dry each side separately, left and right. I use the dryer on high speed and high heat to get the dampness out of my hair first. I have straightish hair (slightly fizzy and wavy) so I like to pop on the concentrator nozzle once its half dry. This makes my hair super straight as the powerful air stream blows it straight. I must admit that I have never used the diffuser attachment. This hair dryer also has a unique "cold blast" setting which I've never come across before. The idea is that you use it after drying and styling your hair to "set" it. It's hard to tell if it works or not but I like the idea, and it certainly cools your head down too.

Overall this is hands down the best hair dryer I have ever used and would definitely recommend in a heart beat. So far I have had my hairdryer for almost a year now and it works just like I had purchased it. I'm hoping I won't have to repurchase this anytime soon as it looks like it will last a good five years.

Tips: use the cold setting for drying your nail polish

Beauty vault win

I got this baby in the most recent beauty vault. Can we just pause and celebrate how awesome BR is for running such an event 4x annually along with the BB. Wohoo!!! So thus baby comes packaged in a big padded box included are 2 attachments it's warranty & the baby herself the VS dryer that has a plastic clip to keep the cord tidy. This is a hefty dryer with a cool turbo setting 3 heat functions & 2 speed functions with just the switch of the button you can go from hot to cool from soft & slow to super speed with powerful bursts of heat...... I love it. What's also good is the noise reduction. I have not experienced a hairdryer that doesn't sound like it's something about to take off or the start up isn't some bold combustion even when you speed it up or turn the cool turbo on the fans don't seem like a turbocharger or lawnmower. What I also love is how well it dries & such a short time, with the added noise reduction. It also cuts down the time to straighten hair using without a brush or comb it easily straightens the hair. Bonus...... I have a very full head of hair & thus dryer takes less then 10 minutes to fully dry my full length thick hair. My hair is above my butt although alot of it & thick. This being said it's my best purchase for my hair since my ghds except at a super discounted price. Like no where near the rrp because I got it from the BR VAULT so I paid shipping & a little extra due to overspending my points..... From wet to dry within minutes without the huge noise of a turbo charger but with the power of a v8. Thank YOU BR

Yip it's true it's a winner. Lol or maye it'll be in the next beauty vault and you an score it there. If I just leave my hair to dry tied up & I've washed it that morning that night it's still damp so that's how thick my hair is for this to dry it.

Sounds like a good investment for me. My hairs thick as and it takes a day of wearing it out to dry. Maybe I could talk my partner into getting me one lol

Wasn't A Fan At First - Now I Love It!

When I first got the hair dryer, thanks to the generous voucher Beauty Review gave us to redeem at Farmers I wasn't impressed with the hair dryer, as I felt it didn't give me the sleek look that it promised. After some experimenting I can now say it is one of my favourite Beauty tools.

Using the right shampoo and conditioner, for me, felt like it made some difference. I also found that by not using the attachment that came with the dryer to achieve the straight sleek look made a major difference.

Definitely does cut drying in time in half and I feel that after using it is also cuts my straightening time in half as well (as the hair dryer itself helps with the straightening in the first place).

I don't personally feel it is much quieter than other hair dryers, but hey, that's not really something I am looking for when buying a new hair dryer.

Will experiment some more until I achieve the awesome results it seems other reviewers have got!

Wouldn't have anything else

I bought this dryer from Farmers when they had something like 40% off to replace my little cheap travel-type one. What a massive difference. Having longish, thick hair it would always take forever to dry. This only takes 5 minutes, straightens nicely and the cool shot function sets hair well.

There's two heat settings and three speed settings, with the highest being pretty intense. Packaging is solid and the dryer itself feels strong. Contoured handle with controls on it makes it easy to hold. While it looks bulky it's surprisingly light weight.

Definitely worth splashing out on.

VS Sassoon 3Q hair dryer

I purchased this hair dryer months ago due to the great coupon that BR managed to get us. I have had the same cheap hair dryer for years and was meaning on getting a new one for ages but none of them ever wowed me to I saw this one floating around BR and was like 'Wow. I need to buy that'

I was super impressed with the packaging this hair dryer comes with it just screams out extravagance.

I have never owned a professional hairdryer before that is powerful and actually does the job. I was super impressed with how many settings this had and also how fast it dried my hair. My hair is shoulder length and I believe it is quite thin due to always having layers (my hairdresser disagrees) and this dried my hair in around 3 minutes. My hair looks so beautiful and soft after drying it with this dryer. I am hopeless at styling my hair so I don't really use the cool function.

I definitely love this hairdryer the only thing I hate is that I can not use it if my heat pump is on at home because it kind of turns if the power. (OOPS)

Blew. My. Mind.

See that girl prancing down the street with the bouncy straight ponytail? That's me. Well, now it is. Before I was lucky enough to trail the VS Sassoon 3Q my hair was always tied up in a bun. Always. Anything to contain the wavy curly frizz. But now I get to mosey about with a perky ponytail - that's how good this beast of a machine is. And you know it's good the moment you see it.

It's packaged in a sturdy box, and nestled in a velvet like case. Fancy! The hairdryer itself is made from quality plastic, and moulded beautifully. It's also really nicely balanced, which is why I think you can hold it up above your head for a good while without getting a sore arm.

The 3Q makes a few pretty big claims, one is that it's up to 40% quieter, and to be honest I didn't notice that when compared with my existing hair dryer, it sounded about the same, but it does have a bigger motor. 2200 watts! Which explains why it's so powerful, and why it's claim to dry hair up to 70% faster was completely true.

I have fine hair, and a lot of it, and I often struggle to get my hair properly dry. It always ends up damp, and then it kinks and frizzes, and is quickly tied up in a bun again. Not with the 3Q. I can completely dry my hair in six minutes. If I want it straightened with the added use of a fancy brush - 9 minutes. (And that included toddler interruptions.) Unheard of! It's a total time saver, and it gives amazing results. My hair is less frizzy, straight as my GHDs can manage, and it looks healthier.

Another wonderful aspect of this machine is the cool shot button. It's actually cool. Not luke warm. Not sort of cool. It's cool - and it sets my hair beautifully.

I always thought my existing hair dryer was a goodie. The VS Sassoon has blown it out of the water, and out of my life. Worth the money (especially if you get it on sale). Can't recommend enough.

Tips: Definitely use that cool shot button to set your hair, it really helps! I also found I had best results when a straightening serum was applied before blow drying.

Hi Kellie, this review and your video one inspired me to demand this dryer for my birthday and I'm so so stoked with it! Thank you thank you thank you!!! ♡

Haha, I can give it a go, but I have to find my special brush first! I have no idea where it's gone, although I'm getting pretty good results with dragging a paddle brush through my hair followed by the dryer. It's easier too!

Can you please make me a video of how you straighten your hair with it? I'm seriously kak handed with the dryer and the brush and am getting varying results. I feel this is your duty since your other video convinced me to buy it ;)

This is not just a hair dryer...

...it is a gift from the hair gods. Seriously. The heavens opened, Angels were singing and all was right in the world when I opened this box. I was feeling like the luckiest girl in the world for getting on this trial! The boyfriend now thinks I may need some professional help after getting so excited about a hair dryer...

First thing I did when I opened it? Plugged it in and turned it on full to test the blow strength and scared the cat (who snuck up on me & got in the firing range...Sorry Tank!). I never in my wildest dreams could I have thought a hair dryer would blow this much! This made me eager to use it.

I have straight(ish) long thick hair. My previous hair dryer takes around 10 minutes to get my hair into a dryish state so I could whip it into a pony tail with the middle of it still damp. Then the frizzy arrived. My hair tripled in volume from the midlengths to the ends with my previous hair dryer, and my hair ends were pretty fried so I'd usually be pretty staticy by afternoon tea time.

Hair wash morning arrived, & for the first time in a long time that I actually was excited to wash my hair. I gave my hair a quick towel dry and left it to air dry for 10 minutes, then out came the 3Q. At first I could not figure out why there was nothing but cold air (& I mean actual cold air) coming out. Turns out my chubby fingers had hit the cold air feature. I was very surprised at how cold the cold setting was. I can't say it was drastically quieter than my previous hair dryer, but I could hear the radio a little bit better while using it (But then again how much can we hear over gale force winds being blown around your head!?)

It had my hair completely dry within 6 minutes (I mean all over dry!). My hair also looks as if I had straightened my hair with a GHD. I hoped that it would last and would not be temporary. My mind was blown at this point.

Fast forward to few hours later my hair was still straight and feels like it has had a conditioning treatment put through it. Shiny, straight, little to no frizz. I felt like a flipping hair commercial (You know, flip the hair & smile at the camera type thing...). I even had a friend ask me what I've started doing differently because my hair was looking so shiny and healthy!

Holding the two hair dryers (previous and 3Q) in my hands I can definitely feel a weight difference with the 3Q being lighter, & I felt less strain on my upper arms when blow drying my hair from above, so this is a bonus for a lazy person like myself (Seriously, if I can avoid hair wash day, I will! Or at least I used to...).

The only thing I have balked at with this hair dryer is the price. I would want to make sure it was living up to it's advertised expectations if I was paying the RRP. But in saying that, this hair dryer is pretty much how VS advertise it! I haven't yet had a chance to see how the hair dryer goes in terms of volume, but I plan on updating this in a week or two once I've had a really good play with it!
