DISCLOSURE: This is very similar to the shampoo review, I am sorry for this but I personally find it quite hard to review these two products on their own. They are products that I think should be used together. I am never one to mix and match my shampoos and conditioners.
This is my first review that I have ever done on a conditioner. Im never usually too fussed about what brand I get as I think they all do the same. As long as it smells good and it doesnt leave me hair feeling oily Im all for it. I dye my hair with a box dye.... Naughty, I know! But Im lucky with being a brunette as I find its easier to maintain. Here are some bullet points on this conditioner, hopefully they will help you girls that are more intuned to your hair, unlike me :) x
* Im all about information, I love to know the special key notes that are one the bottles. What I first noticed was NEW 80% of colour preserved after 28 washes. I unfortunately haven’t used this product that many times to see if this fact is 100% true, I have maybe done 8 or so washes (I always shampoo and condition my hair at the same time). I usually only wash my hair 3 times a week, but I tried my hardest to wash it at least every second day to put it to the test! So far I am pretty pleased with how well the colour has lasted. Its only lightened in the roots slightly, I did get my hair cut (washed and conditioned etc) inbetween this process so that proberbly doesnt help but even then I have found that it still looks almost freshly done. Im curious to see how long its going to last ;). Another key note that stuck out to me was that it does have UVA and UVB filters in this product, I have never noticed this on any other brands of conditioner (correct me if Im wrong) but I am a big sucker for any protection against the UV rays!!! Who shouldnt be!! This technology is proberbly what has helped my colour last longer as all us brunettes know the sun is a pain at lightening our hair, especially if we are wanting to acheive a nice rich deep colour! So Im all for that!
* The packaging is the only thing that bothers me, if only the base of it was a bit thinker so that its not so easy to fall over in the shower. For some reason that annoys the living day lights out of me, I like products that can stand their own in the shower! :P The smell of this product is very similar to the shampoo, nothing to overpowering it just has a nice fresh and slightly floral scent to it.
Overall I find this condition complements the shampoo nicely. It has helped to keep the colour lasting longer in my hair while giving the nourishment it needs without being too oily. Im still going to persist with these products and see if the 28 washes thing is true.. :) I hope this has been helpful for you all, wether you are a hair product junky or not too bothered with your hair just like me. Its always good to try something new :)
The ELVIVE range is definitely my go to supermarket shampoo and conditioner range. I absolutely love, love, love this product - it has definitely beat my salon brand conditioner!
Majority of Supermarket conditioners tend to make my hair feel super oily... not the ideal thing when you already have naturally oily hair and want it to look refreshed. I found that the Colour Protect conditioner was a fabulous and nourishing product. It conditioned my hair, protected it and made it look soft and silky.
I found that my colour looked brighter after using it, it didn't get as brassy or faded after washing my hair - I didn't find that colour was falling out when I was washing it.
I absolutely love the packaging.. It's so sleek and modern - Looks great in my bathroom! I also really enjoyed the scent.. I find that supermarket conditioners smell so harsh - but this was light and floral. Absolutely perfect!
I would definitely recommend this to a friend, and I will be continuing with using this product and trying out others in the range - think I might give the Total Repair a go next!
