L'Oréal Paris ELVIVE Colour Protect Conditioner Review

The smell of this conditioner is amazing but my hair was left feeling rather oily after using it which was disappointing. It bought out the brightness of a little bit of blonde I had in my tips also made my hair feel super soft which I loved. I did like this product I would have used it again if it didn't make my hair so oily.

Overall I really liked this product.

First of all, the packaging is really nice and sleek. It is also a practical sized bottle which stands up easily on a surface. The colour of the bottle is nice and vibrant!

I LOVE the texture of the conditioner. It easily goes onto the hair and gets rid of any tough knots (I have problems with this from years of bleaching my hair). The scent of the conditioner is really lovely and fresh.

In terms of colour protecting, its really hard to tell if it does its job. I have ombre hair (brown to blonde) and previously had bleached hair. I wanted to try this to see if it held my colour! It's hard to tell whether my colour has stayed because it began to fade before I started using the conditioner. I haven't noticed any further fading though so that's a good sign!

First Impressions 1. Colour of Bottle Great so stands out 2. At least the conditioner bottle stands with the wider end at the base so doesn't fall over and the opening is at the bottom so you can get the last bit out. :) 3. Smell was great again felt like you were in a salon.

So on first use, loved the consistancy and thickness of the conditioner, felt nice on application counteracting the stripping feeling of the shampoo.

Felt great while wet. Once dry I felt that it left my blonde ends feeling dry even though it had a nice shine.

Overall it left my hair shiny, but feeling dry and puffy.

Just some back ground on my hair it had been coloured 2 weeks prior to using this product Dark at roots and blonde ends. My hair is of medium thickness.

I couldn't say 100% that it protected my colour and hair.

As with the shampoo, the conditioner bottle is a bit gaudy and basic looking with its fire engine red shade. I found the size a bit wide for my smaller hands, however liked that the lid opened easily. Pleasant smell, and good creamy consistency of product - not too thick like some conditioners can be. My hair is salon coloured with permanent product, and as I didn't use for 28 washes it was a bit hard to tell whether the colour is protected over time. Would buy again as an 'in between' bottle as a switch from my usual brand which I'll continue buying. As I'm getting through the bottle, I think it's going to be harder to squeeze the product out as the bottle is a hardish plastic and is looking a bit shrunken the more I use!

This has an accompanying shampoo and both have the same smell basis but I found there is a definite strong chemical undertone to the scent used in the conditioner. To me, it's nearly overwhelming and makes me want to rinse it out fairly quickly! Luckily, this conditional isn't one of the ones that you have to leave in for 5 minutes etc. so you can just follow the usual conditioning process. After having my hair bleached, I've found that the ends can get all dry and "crusty" after I wash it, but I haven't noticed it with this conditioner which is great to see. The blonde and colour in my hair hasn't changed (the only thing that has is my regrowth, oops...) so it looks as if it does the job. At such a cheap price compared to salon products, I'll definitely consider purchasing it in future - the main thing putting me off is the smell.

Although I didn't like the shampoo version, I actually quite like this conditioner. My hair always gets tangled after using the shampoo, and I find it really difficult to untangle my hair with my hands. But with just a little bit of this conditioner, poof! My hair is soft and smooth again.

I love how light this conditioner feels, as it doesn't feel weighed down like some conditioners can be. I can feel the difference in my hair immediately when I don't use this conditioner after shampooing.

I also really like how easy it is to apply this conditioner, and the fact you don't need that much to coat your hair from the roots to the tips. Would definitely use this again!

I really love this conditioner! It feels like a deep conditioning treatment but doesn't weigh my hair down. I have dark brown hair with toned highlights and my hair still looks great! Very healthy and shiny and i've been getting a lot of compliments on it. Nice light scent and easy to use bottle. I would definitely buy this product again.

So i was given the opportunity to try this product along with the ELVIVE Colour Protect Shampoo. There is little scent to the conditioner which although i like to have a lovely scent to my hair, the shampoo scent sufficed. I colour my hair regularly and as time passed, I didnt really notice anything special, until a class mate asked me if my hair had been recently done again? i said no, she commented how it looked good and the colour was brighter. (my hair is lightened and i had no toner left, so was nice to see that people noticed my hair was lighter and brighter as opposed to darker and dull looking which is not the effect we want when lightening my hair). Made my day that comment.

Also i wash my hair often and with my frizzy/curly/wavy confused type of hair i noticed after a few washes my hair did start to settle down bit. I have to wash my hair nearly everyday, blow dry and straighten, because of appearances within my profession, and found my hair has no damage, still looks healthy, no built up residue, and im also someone who NEEDS to change hair products as "although not proven" if i use one thing too much my hair starts getting oily and yuck. i havent yet experienced this yet using Elvive, so ill be buying another bottle of the shampoo and conditioner, because im happy with the condition of my hair.

I love this conditioner, I had an ear operation two days before the trail, half of my hair was stuck together and this helped get all the blood out, and smoothed it enough to brush it without effecting my ear at all, I also dyed my hair during the trail and after originally washing out the excess hair dye, using the shampoo and conditioner after that was awesome, it always nice when you dont have color wash down the drain, because I love the conditioner so much I will be replacing my trial product with loreal color protect. I've already been recommending it.

After two weeks of using this I have enjoyed using this product. my hair doesn't look like its faded. Loved the smell of this and it made my hair nice and soft and silky. overall I would use this again so thanks BR for giving me the chance to try this out. :)
