Complete Let Down by TRESemme Yet Again

I couldn't find my usual dry shampoo, so picked this one up from Postie Plus. The price is reasonable as you get quite a lot of product, which will last you for quite awhile.

The fragrance was alright, I wouldn't exactly do a happy dance over it, but its okay.

Results itself - to be honest, I was so disappointed by this dry shampoo and it saddens me to have to write a really negative review on this product. Its easy to spray, I'll give it that, and at first it leaves your hair looking a little more cleaner than before. I know a dry shampoo just gives you a little refresh so wasn't expecting my hair to look and feel like its just been washed. Unfortunately after about 5 minutes of having it in my hair, it became very tacky and tangled up almost to the point where I had to check to make sure I hadn't picked up hairspray by mistake. I thought it maybe just a passing feeling until it worked its magic, but alas it just felt worse as the day wore on. I couldn't wait to wash my hair and get the product out.

I'm not really sure what TRESemme were trying to achieve by bringing this product out, maybe I'm just fussy, but I think I'll stick to my regular Batiste when I can get my hands on it.

Tips: Don't spray too close to your hair as you end up looking like a white ghost as it has a white powder look to it!!!

Cr*p

Silly me bought 2 of these at once because they were cheap, I needed some and I get through a can of my regular Batiste dry shampoo quickly, so foolishly thought I might as well grab 2.

This dry shampoo doesn't brush into my hair very well at all leaving it looking kinda grey, the darker your hair the worse it's going to look, might not be an issue if you're platinum blonde. I need to use a lot of it to see any kind of glimmer of what it is intended to do and it leaves a horrible tacky thick layer of film on the surface of my hair.

This dry shampoo does vaguely help to provide some volume and a cleaner look in soaking up the oiliness, but is it worth it? I don't think so.

Not for me...

I had high hopes for this product. I followed the instructions but unfortunately it was not suitable for my hairstyle, I was left with greasy hair. The good points is that you get a lot of product for the price and it smells really lovely but it just wasn't suitable for my type of hair. You could also see the residue left in my hair...i actually think that it may work better for me if I had towel dried my hair first.

Tips: Test out prior to going on an important date

thumbs down :(

If I can say one positive thing about this product it would have to be that I love the colours of the can (black with lime green writing and a lime green lid - my fav colour) but that's about it.

After following the instructions at the back of the can (shake well, spray rulers length away from hair blah blah blah) my hair was is a worse state than it was prior to using the dry shampoo. It left my hair feeling greasy(er) ,sticky and DEFINITELY left a VISIBLE white residue on my hair, no matter how hard I tried to brush it out. I also noticed that I couldn't use it more than once between washes as it left a white almost dandruff looking layer on my scalp (sounds gross I know).

After a while the product begins to build up around the opening of the nozzle. So not only does it leave white residue behind on your hair but on the nozzle aswel! why? my bet would be on the "mineral clay" which I've never seen in any other dry shampoo.

The smell is quite a fresh smell i must admit , but there's no point in that if your hair looks all greasy and "bleh".

Tips: Spend a lil bit extra on something that will actually do what it's supposed to do.

Should have named it grease shampoo

I was at Postie Plus one time looking for a new dry shampoo because i had just ran out, this was $6 and my usual Batiste was $14, i thought maybe i should save some money and grab the cheaper one. Regrets.

When I'm after a dry shampoo, all i want for it to do is to get rid of the greasy mess on my hair, make it more matte rather than oily and maybe add a little bit of texture. This dry shampoo did the exact opposite. My hair got greasier and flatter. I couldn't make it work even though i sprayed it far away from my roots or sprayed only a little bit. My hair looked so bad that i had to shower and hair dry my hair. I kept giving this the chance but unfortunately its just not good enough.

Tips: Go for Batiste, don't waste your money on this,

Not a fan

I'm not a believer in dry shampoo (shock horror, I know) but I bought this when I went away and was not sure I would have access to a shower to be able to wash my hair.

I wash my hair every day, as I do intense exercise frequently and my hair is already greasy feeling when I wake up. This does not soak up the morning grease very well, instead leaving my hair feeling gritty and sticky with a grey cast.

I would not use this again - my hair just felt limp and gross. This has put me off other dry shampoos - I just don't feel properly clean unless there is water involved.

Bought on sale, wish I hadn't have wasted my $$$.

Bought this on sale for only $2 and I can see why it was so cheap now. In this case the saying you get what you pay for definitely applies. I was hoping for it to soak up some of the excess oil at my roots. I honestly feel like it made my hair look and feel worse than it was in the first place. It left a white residue on my hair which is no biggie for me as I'm a pale blonde, but for others with darker hair it'd be very noticeable. It also had absolutely NO effect on my oily roots at all.

Tips: Save your money, don't bother, spend the extra and get batiste.

Does the trick but nothing to write home about

This was a cheap dry shampoo to try when my Batiste had run out. It definitely isn't the best dry shampoo, or anything revolutionary. It left a chalky feel on my hair, didn't smell as nice as my Batiste and the can didn't last that long. I have dark hair so spraying it on directly then going out didn't work too well.

Tips: I found that spraying my hair the night before worked much much better with this spray. I would use it again in desperate situations!

Nah cheaper sometimes doesn't work out

Does nothing but feel thick and icky on your hair. I found it didn't dry up any oil and didn't match or brush in well with my brown hair :(

If I could rate it a zero I would....

When I see the name TRESemme I automatically think 'oooo that means salon goodness'. In most cases this actually is the case when I have used their range of products but then this turns up. It got a free ride in my trolley for what? I don't see the benefits from it.

Let's start with the packaging. It's eye catching enough with the brand TRESemme on it and with the yellow/lime green depending on your eyesight lid and design of course it screams chic. I love the thought of dry shampoo and not having to wash my hair so often. After spraying it in my hair it left white chalky like substances dry in my hair. It didn't feel cleansed. It felt itchy and like someone had thrown chalk dust at my head.

The smell didn't overly excite me either which for TRESemme was very odd. It probably explains why it was on sale in the $1.99 bin at my local supermarket. I don't mind that I paid $1.99 for lower than low quality but the fact that this has put me off the brand in it's entirety is more serious to me. Stick to what you do best TRESemme and that's shampoo and conditioner not dry shampoo. Needless to say this shall not find it's way in to my trolley nor my bathroom ever again.

Tips: Don't even use it, it's a waste of time and money. That is my best tip
