I got sent to Melbourne last year and we were put up at a flash hotel (Doubletree Hilton on Flinders)... among other amazing little luxuries, I was overjoyed to discover that the hotel toiletries were Crabtree and Evelyn! There was a range, and they happily replaced them every day, so I went home with about 5 27ml bottles of this in particular.
Crabtree and Evelyn Citron Honey and Coriander Cleansing Shampoo comes in the usual understated-but-pretty C&E packaging. The bottle is clear, with an olive green cap. The shampoo is clear gel type with a yellowy tinge to it. The scent is as claimed; the citrus/herb/honey combo is refreshing, pleasant and subtle-yet-noticeable. (note: this is stronger in the bottle than it is in your hair).
The shampoo lathers, and cleans nicely without feeling like it strips hair. I was worried that it would be harsher seeing as it's promoted as a 'cleansing' shampoo.... isn't all shampoo cleansing, though? I find that my hair, which is dyed often, bleached at the tips, and frequently heat styled, reacts well to this shampoo - it's gentle enough not to dry it out, but cleans it properly. I shampoo my hair daily, and this is fine for that.
Overall, I'm really impressed with this, especially as a hotel freebie, and the only thing that would put me off is the $32 a bottle price, and the relatively elusive availability of it in NZ. Definitely worth a try though!
Tips: I have found a range of this in Smith and Caughey's, and it's often in wee boutiquey gift shops etc. If you want to try it, buy it when you see it!
