My daughters are obsessed with My Little Pony and wanted rainbow hair. After a bit of a let down with Schwarzkopf pastel colour range, we picked up a can of the bright pink of this and gave it a whirl.
Firstly, it stains and doesn't wash out of clothes. I stupidly thought, oh it washes out of hair, it'll come out of clothes. Wrong. Luckily the brand has some tips on its website to help you remove those stains.
But onwards. The pink is bright! The spray is super easy to use, literally spray it on. It did dry quickly, however it shifted a lot during the day - eg rubbing off on to clothes, hands when you touched it, and onto bedding overnight.
It took more than one wash to get off, despite saying it was one wash and it's out. Not a big drama, but if you're looking at a big night out over the weekend and you have a conservative dress code at work - beware. It ended up lasting about a week (3 washes and multiple swims in both chlorine and salt) before it was all gone.
Overall though, it's just a bit of fun and an easy way to add pops of colour.
I say 'safe' because I have a hairdye allergy (PPD and a couple other chemicals) and so my hair is now growing out in my natural silver-white. This doesn't give me a reaction, but I still use it sparingly.
I've tried both pinks and really want the rose gold.
The paler pink shows up well and washes out readily. The hot pink stained my hair and i had a pink tinge to my hair for about 5 washes afterwards, which I was actually a fan of. In both cases you need to spray quite liberally, and then brush through and respray to avoid hair going stiff with spray.
It transfers like mad, so you have to be careful, and wash it out before you sleep, but the impact in the meantime is amazing and if you're just wanting a day of bright dye for a specific purpose it works well.
I'm looking forward to having my hair grown out enough to use the hot pink to stain the tips :)
Tips: wear gloves with the brighter colours, and be careful where you spray!
