Casting Creme Gloss

I have this in one of the chocolate golden brown series in my hair right now I am about at wash 11 and before that had light blonde hair it is washing out nice I like how the colour is getting lighter and more golden with each wash and using a wash out gives you a good indication if you change shampoos with each was as to which ones are good for coloured hair or not. The gloves are okay not as easy to break as other ones that come in home dyes.. The conditioner smells nice and the colour scent is not too bad but as my hair is so damaged I was hoping it would possibly repair my hair but I do not think it made a difference my ends are so damaged that it is washed out faster there than the roots. I look like I have ombre hair. I would probabbly use again as I like a dye that washes out. If you want one that will not wash out super fast I would choose this. I do not really notice my shine in it though that must just be in the conditioner not the dye itself. I hate how this brand tests on animals.

Casting Creme Gloss - Glossy Magohany Tint

Before discovering L'oreal's Casting Creme Gloss all I had ever used was henna. I felt safe using it since I figured that in case my dye job turned out bad it would wash out eventually. I heard how good this was and how shiny your hair was afterwards not to mention great for first time hair colorists. Wanting the color to show up I picked the most red shade available for dark hair which turned out to be this one. Forty-eight hours after running the allergy test, I was cleared to go so with that I nervously but excitedly proceeded to color my hair. I found the bottle with the nozzle tip made it easy to streak the color through my scalp and massage it in my wet freshly towel dried hair. I do have long, fine really dark brown (almost black) hair that almost reaches my waist. I bought two boxes but found out one had one box had enough product to cover all my hair. The dye smelt chemical but it didn't smell chokingly toxic like the scent you get walking to a salon with several dye jobs going on. I did detect a slight fruity scent. I left it in for longer than the 20 minutes recommended and instead left it in for 45 minutes as I really wanted the color to soak in and dye my hair as red as possible. Then I rinsed it out and it took forever to rinse it out of my long hair but I assume it had to do with the lack of a shower hose and the length of my hair, the more I rinsed the more red came out of my hair so I finally gave up and stopped rinsing when the water was just tinted light red. The conditioner was a nice thick creamy consistency and had a chemical sort of fruity scent maybe berry. It smoothed nicely through my tresses and rinsed out well. I then proceeded to towel dry it and leave my hair to air dry. The end result - shiny, glossy locks with a slight nigh undetectable tint of mahogany, it would be visible if I had a light shining from behind my head. You really couldn't see a huge difference in my resulting hair color or tone unless you were looking for it, though if you took a few strands of my hair and put it next to my undyed eyebrows you could see that the hair on my head was more red. The next time I washed my hair lots of red came out and then as time went on less color came out. I guess the color settled after awhile. The red tones started to be slightly more visible. A few months later I decided to use up the second box I had bought even though I still had red tints in my hair from the last application. The results were the same as the first time, then with the first wash and second wash. After a few washes my hair started to have more red tint to it. I think the second time it stood out more. I guess I built on the color from the last application.

Tips: Again it doesn't look that red just a hint and depending on the lighting and clothes I'm wearing it may not be really visible. The main way to notice it is to hold up a few strands of hair against my eyebrows which weren't dyed. Maybe a third application will bring out the color more.

Wet and towel dry your hair for ease of application and put vaseline around your hair line so you don't dye your skin. I kept a wet rag or cloth around to wipe up spills and one for my ears and face to wipe if dye got on them. Although this does say that you can expect visible red tones even on black hair don't expect anything more than a slight mahogany tint if you have lights shining from behind or the sunlight hinting your hair. But the color is somewhat buildable if you want to reapply the same shade again while you still have hints of the color in your hair.

Gorgeous colour!

I was lucky enough to get this in the BR vault. I've been wanting a change and here it was.

My hair is really dark brown and I had previously put a black through it many months ago. You could see the regrowth coming through when you looked close (not alot of difference to natural colour) I brought a kit to bleach my hair. I put it in the top half. Washed it out, put in more dragging it down to some ends.

Now this is easy to mix. The smell is pleasant. Not that horrid gasping smell. The bottle makes it easy to apply. It's not all runny so sits in your hair without dripping which I really like.

Washing out was easy. I kept running the shower through until well after the water was clear. I used the conditioner. The packet is a generous amount that lasts a few conditions. I blow dried my hair after and it was really shinny. Really bright and was over the moon with the results.

I found that a few washes (3) I was still loosing colour. I made a effort to not wash my hair everyday like normal. I did it every second day. While the above says up to 28 washes, it doesn't stay bright. It is still there though.

I will be buying this again as I love the effect with the bright red at the top going down to black at the ends. If you look at my photos on the photo wall it shows the colour

Tips: Buy a conditioner with red dye in it to boost the colour

after 15 years i've finally found the one

the right hair dye lol. I've been dying my hair for 15 years, I'd never tried loreal before due to the price, and oh what I fool I've been. For an extra few dollars I finally found the dye I love. The formulas were easy to mix together, The gloves were a firm fit compared to others. the instructions were abit hard to understand due to different lanuages but got there in the end. The hair dye itself was a bright red, and had very little smell (yay). I found it super easy to apply and went on fast, with no drips. It easier came off around my face and bathroom counter (wasn't concentrating lol) with just alittle warm water. It did seem to take alot longer to wash out, but using the conditioner made my hair silky smooth. Bonus having double the normal amount. over all beyond happy with the colour, process and price. Will be using again in the future

Tips: dont forget the gloves
