Will lighten my hair first next time

As I bought the rose gold colour on clearance for $4 at the warehouse and have medium brown hair, I didn't have high hopes for this product. I was only hoping for my hair to be a slightly warmer shade of brown from this product, as the rose gold colour is a rather light shade, as shown on the colour chart on the back of the packet. Honestly this product didn't really make any changes to my hair. It is only if you look really closely that you can see that it is a slightly warmer brown. However, I don't think this is a bad semi-permanent hair product, and I am totally planning on using the other half of the tube (I only needed half for my shoulder length hair) after lightening my hair a bit, because it had no harsh smell and my hair felt soft and not at all damaged after use.

Tips: If you have brown hair don't bother with the rose gold colour, try one of the darker colours instead

Clairol demi permanent

Pretty sure I tried this back when it was new. Liked it. If you do have lighter hair it will come up brighter but it probably won't always last longer because photos hair can also fail to hold hair colour. This will work on brunette too but if your hair is very dark it won't or be super subtle. Ideally natural brunette virgin or grown out brunette will give best results same with blonde. They have some interesting shades to try. You can go all over or ombre / dip dye like the box. This costs a bit more than some of the competition on the market but it is in fact better than some of its competitors and the shades are just that little bit more unique. This comes with a brush and does not seem to damage hair. You don't need to use the whole lot in one go. The amount of time this lasts depends on your hair condition. I would re buy this brand it's better in comparison to other wash out dyes.

Simple to apply, beautiful colour! (Orchid Colour)

After lightening my hair a couple years ago to colour it purple at a salon, I was getting a little bored with the blonde. Not wanting to pay an arm and a leg at a salon again, I decided to try Clairol. My hair is quite ombre so it was nice seeing how the dye responded to blonde vs brunette hair.

Overall, the application was extremely easy (20-30 minutes of leaving it in) and I absolutely loved the different shades! I've received more compliments with this colour than the original, professionally-done purple I had done. It does fade out fairly fast but, at the price, that's just a reason to try some of the other colours!

Tips: For darker hair (light brunette to brunette), definitely leave the dye in for at least 30 min (gives a lovely warm, fuchsia shade). On the blonder sections of my hair, the colour was definitely a bit of a cooler, orchid tone.

You can also always mix any extra dye in with conditioner to keep the colour a little longer with additional washes.

Pretty shades

I tried this product in the rose gold after lightening my hair. I wasn't sure I would like the pink hair look so I went for a 'safe' colour that would sort of blend with my natural light auburn hair.

In the box itself you get proper colouring gloves, a brush to apply the colour and a tube of the colour itself. There's no mixing which is awesome. Just squeeze from the tube and apply to your towel dried/damp hair.

I dip dyed with this product as my ends were the lightest and left the product on 30 minutes for maximum intensity of colour. I found it easier to just squeeze product in my hands and run it through strands of hair, rather than using the brush.

Once rinsed I was left was a peachy pinky colour - more peachy than pinky, which was very pretty. It gradually fades out - although I didn't get 2 weeks of colour before it faded/washed out - it may have only been a week. It is the kind of product however that is easy to reapply, to keep the colour there.

Pricier than some of the other products on the market but definitely a nice product to use and you get all the tools needed. It's also reuseable as you pop the lid on the tube after use, and you can use it again! I have got about 3 uses out of one box for my chin length bob.

Because it washes out easily - you can definitely afford to experiment with colours without too much worry.

Might try some other colours to see if I can find my 'pink' look that I'd like to try. Definitely a fun product for the adventurous ladies!

As it faded

Tips: If using the bold/bright colours - mixing the colour with conditioner is a subtler way to try a hint of the colour before taking the leap with bright colours.

Dip dying is also a good way to try before taking the leap

Anti-dandruff shampoos are awesome for stripping out temporary colour quickly if you don't like your result!
