Sunkissed lightener

I brought this at the end of last summer to mainly use on my roots (I have dyed blonde hair) and thought it could have been a better option than constantly re dying my hair. I have had many successful Loreal products in the past so I was excited to try this out.

This comes in a handy squeeze tube with a bright pink flip top lid. The instructions on the back say to apply it to your hair and then "activate" it by blow drying your hair or going out in the sun. I tried both and found the hair dryer more effective and I could see results a lot faster I also noticed when it sat in my hair and dried in the sun my hair went really hard and straw like, like I had dumped a big blob or hair gel in my hair.

I haven't noticed my hair any drier than normal in the areas where i applied the jelly.

I never used gloves to apply it, but if you don't wash your hands right after using it they go a white colour like if you had burnt your skin... Not pretty.

I would buy this again if my favourite lightening spray wasn't available I did notice results after 2 applications and I think the more your out in the sun the more it works. Even after blow drying it.

casting jelly

I found this product in the warehouse a couple of months ago and was really attracted to the packaging.

It looked reliable and really appealing with the colours that were used.

I had brown hair and wanted some highlights but didn't want to go to crazy with bleaching straight away.

The bottle was easy to function which was a blessing because I usually have trouble figuring out how to use all these new bottles.

I liked the consistency of the gel and the smell as well, it wasnt to sticky and the smell was bearable.

I put a bit in my hair then activated it with my hair dryer which wasn't complicated at all.

The bottle suggests to apply more for desired effect so that is what I did and my hair went very light brown with a few applications.

My hair did feel quite dry though so I took a break from using the product but I was quite satisfied with it overall.

Lighter, brighter hair!

This is the first hair colouring product I have ever tried, and I loved it! When I bought it, I was pretty stoked when the checkout lady told me to grab another tube too. Turns out there was a 2 for 1 sale on hair stuff. :)

My hair is dark blonde, so I have this in 02, but there is also 01 and 03 for different shades of blondes.

I have used this a couple of times, and it's really easy to use. All you have to do is rub the jelly into your hair and keep applying it until your hair is wet. Then, you just sit in the sun until it is dry and your hair should gradually lighten in colour.

My hair didn't get hard or dry like some leave-in hair products can do, and after a while my hair did actually lighten a shade or two like it promises, although the change for me wasn't really dramatic (I might have hoped it would). I plan on using it again soon, because I would like it lighter still.

I really do like this, it's so easy to use and the lightening is subtle and safe.

Tips: You've got to be generous with this, if your hair isn't wet it won't dry and lighten (learned that).

Yeah, you'd probably need more heat than that. Good luck with the highlights! :)

I was looking at this as an option but I might have to go with highlights as I work in an office. I don't think the aircon would work the same way as the sun

Sun Kiss Jelly

I used this product a couple of times on a recommendation from a friend. I found that while it did lighten my hair slightly, it gave my hair a bit of a chestnutty(read: ginger) hue.

Probably works best for those with blonder hair than mine. Also the texture was odd and you can't go out in public with it left in your hair as it makes it look super unwashed.

Tips: Use on a girls night/day in no on a night you have to go out in public - your hair looks a tad greasy.

Value Jelly

This product is fantastic! It's not like other lightening products I've used before, such as box bleach or bleach spray. You add a bit of this jelly to your hair - I just use it in certain places, such as around my face to make it look like my hair has been naturally lightened by the sun - and over time your hair lightens. The effect is not instantaneous, so if you're impatient use something else. I usually add a bit around once a month, streak it into my hair and go out in the sunlight to encourage it to lighten. I love the smell and it doesn't dry my hair out. If you layer it over time, you can build the effect into natural highlights. My hair does tend to go quite warm-toned with this product, but other products have the same effect so I think it may just be my hair. And it is very good value!

Tips: Add it to your hair on a day when your hair is already a bit dirty, because it can look a bit greasy while it's drying.
