Goodness Hydrating, Nourishing Light Chia Seed Oil

I'm happy I got this in a beauty box because this is a really nice facial oil. I wouldn't say it's the fastest absorbing facial oil but it doesn't take too long and it's not heavy on my skin. It's light enough that I can use it at night during summer and hydrating enough for day time in the winter and the cooler drier months. The scent is your typical facial oil smell just smells like oils but I really don't notice it unless I've got my nose to the bottle. The dropper works well and I like that the bottle is a dark one as that helps to preserve the integrity of the antioxidants better. One bottle has lasted me about five months so the price is quite reasonable. The main benefits I've noticed with this facial oil is hydration and it's great for sensitive skin. It helps keep my skin from feeling really dry and tight and if I've done a peel or have irritated skin from hayfever this just helps hydrate and sooth my skin a bit. I haven't noticed any brightening effects which I look for in my skincare but since it doesn't claim to on the box I'm not complaining. All around great facial oil for normal to combo to dry skin.

Tips: You can add a couple drops to your moisturizer to make it a bit more nourishing or to a wash off moisturizing mask.

Hydrating and light

I prefer this over the rosehip oil, it feels lighter on the skin, neutral smell and easy to apply. I didn't notice any changes to my blemishes but my skin did feel more soft after using it.

Perfectly hydrating

This product is one I repeatedly purchase. It's great value, and is fabulously hydrating on my skin which tends to be quite dry. I love that it leaves me with a dewy but not oily finish before popping on moisturiser

It's a lovely light oil, and it lasts because you only need 2 drops morning and night, which I pat on after applying Goodness Be Bright serum - the two work magically together.

It absorbs nicely - quite quick to some of the more expensive ones on the market. No oily shiny finish and skin stays hydrated all day and feels lovely first thing in the morning.

Tips: Use it after their Be Bright Serum for a great hydration regime- they're lovely together.

Rub any excess oil on hands into cuticles!

I love Goodness, but...

I am a HUGE fan of Goodness. I've bought the day/night cream repeatedly, as I have the cleanser and toner. However, the chia seed oil? It's a pass.

I bought the travel kit as I was going to be away a bit over the last few months and didn't want to bring all my full size products.

I had been keen to try the oil, but I'm glad I got to try the travel size version as I can honestly say that while it was hydrating and didn't break me out, the scent is not my favourite. 12 hours after using it I can still smell it, and it's very earthy and strong, and no matter how much I use it I can't get used to it.

I'll stick to the rest of the range, but this isn't for me, and I can't see myself recommending this particular product to a friend (despite telling friends the rest of the range is amazing) as the scent's too overwhelming.

Organic Chia Seed Oil

I must have ordered a free trial or something of this I don't remember but when this arrived in my mail box I was really excited!. This comes in a cool little cardboard box, lavender and white with the Goodness logo on the front.

The bottle inside is a brown glass like bottle with a silver and black dropper top. I love the dropper tops I find them much easier to get the product out.

I waited to use this on my face until my nighttime routine. I take my makeup off with micellar water and then use a bit of ZA oil cleanser and rinse. I chose to use this as my moisturiser as I normally use a Rosehip oil.

The chia seed oil is pale yellow in colour. There is no real smell theres a very very faint oil smell but you have to really be trying to smell it. The dropper was super easy to use - I used 3 drops and just massaged into my face. I really loved the feel of this on my skin it was much oilier than I thought it made my skin feel super soft, healthy and moisturised. It doesn't seem to absorb into my skin quite as quickly as the rosehip oil does but using it as part of my nighttime routine it didn't really matter. I wouldn't use this in the morning it would take too long before I could apply my face for the day ! :) It does absorb eventually and it didn't leave any marks on my pillows or sheet or anything.

Ive been using this for the last two weeks and have had no reactions or problems with this, I cant say that its made any improvements to my skin that I've noticed but I love the feel of this and I will continue to use this and maybe rotate with my rosehip oil.

I have a bottle of this stashed away but I find rosehip oil takes long enough to absorb as it is - now I mix it with moisturiser to make it absorb faster.

uh ohhh

I scored this from Cleo for free!!

Sadly I'm allergic to it though! I got all itchy & red immediately after putting it on my face.

It comes in a Glass bottle with a dropper in the lid.

I found I needed quite a few drops to cover my whole face but I think this would last quite a while still.

I think mine was a Cleo freebie too! How awful to be allergic! Have you tried any other Goodness products? That will tell you if it's chia seed or not!

I'm not sure... I assumed it was the Chia but I could be wrong

Lovely oil for a first timer

I've always been hesitant to put oil on my face. The mere idea of it always made me internally shudder.

I was lucky enough to receive this from Cleo as part of a free sample. I was expecting a sample not a full size!

Being an oil noob I had to do some research on exactly how I use an oil on my face. I've been patting two or three drops a day after I moisturize and it keeps my skin looking supple all day. In fact when my younger sister was over recently she mentioned how plump my skin looked.

I've even managed to convince my partner to pop some on after he shaves!

Tips: Pat two or three drops of this into your skin after you moisturize. Your skin will be lovely and hydrated all day.

Goodness Me!

I guess I filled in a free sample thing online because I received this baby in the mail much to my surprise. It comes in a lavender coloured box and is really quite generous to be a freebie. It's full size I would think comparing size to other oils in the range.

It is a glass brown bottle with a dropper to make it convenient for usage. I find that the dropper means that I don't have to worry about spillage nor wastage. It gives the perfect amount every sing time. The oil itself is oil colour and has no prominent smell to it. It's very thick but I would expect that from an oily product.

I love that it has organic Chia Seel in it because I have found alot of benefits from chia seeds. I consistently have them in my cooking and to aid my weight loss journey so I can only imagine the goodness it has for the skin.

I use four drops of this for my face and use it as my night routine. I prefer not to use it in the morning because I have quite an oily T zone so to put more oil on doesn't make sense. I massage it in to all areas of my face and let it to sink in which it does quite well.

I also use this on my nail cuticles to give them some pep in their step especially during the summer when my cuticles have the tendency to peel and split. My skin is super soft and plump and my cuticles are healthier than ever at this time of year. I love this stuff and it is actually well named....Goodness because it really is goodness in a bottle.

Tips: Rub it in to your nails and cuticles to help promote healthy nails

A great, lighter face oil

I was sent this as part of a giveaway. I think it was a magazine that was giving out about 2000 of these. When I signed up, I was just thinking it would be a little sample but I was lucky enough to get the full 20ml bottle size.

This comes in a standard oil bottle with the dropper in it so you can easily get the small amount that you need out without waste. The bottle is made of dark glass and with the silver lid and purple packaging, I think it looks really appealing and more expensive than what it actually is.

I love facial oils but my experience so far has only been with jojoba and rosehip oils. Chia seed oil to me is a much lighter version of oil. I find this sinks into my skin very quickly and although it does feel hydrating, it isn't as hydrating as the other oils I have used. I do have very dry skin so I prefer the more hydrating options but it is nice to be able to apply this and then not have to wait a long time before applying moisteriser and makeup. I would imagine this would be the perfect oil for more normal and oily skin types as I think those skin types would benefit much more from the lighter hydration.

I personally like to use 5 drops of this. I find this covers my face and neck pretty adequately without being overly greasy. I've been using this for a couple of months and have used just over half the bottle up with just applying this once a day in the morning. Even though this is only a small bottle, it will last a long time so I feel like it's good value for money.

I probably won't specifically go out and buy this once I'm done but I would use it again if it was in a beauty box or giveaway. But that really is because of my dry skin, not because I think it's a bad oil so I would recommend it to a friend who didn't share my skin type.

Light oil

Warehouse had a clearance of this oil . Checked the expiry date on it, Was sweet so I decided to make the purchase. I remember this oil coming out last year or the year before and it definately took everyone's interest away from the rosehip oil. My skin is dry especially around my nose area. I'm constantly searching for great hydration.

The bottle it comes in this deep brown shaded glass. Feel like good quality. Labelling is clear easy to read. The consistency of the oil is quite light. It doesn't seem to have any scent in it.

When I apply this I like to cleanse and tone beforehand. I use serum on its own as a night treatment to see if I could see any changes solely on its own on my skin.

I've been using this religiously every night for the last few weeks. I was disappointed with it. It was far too light for my dessert dry skin. It didn't do anything to treat my dry skin on my nose. I also gave it a try mixed in with my foundation and it did an ok job. I havent noticed any difference to the pigmentation on my skin either.

The positives for me is that it's priced affordably for anyone to buy. I think it could be even cheaper. I still love rosehip oil. This one doesn't come close to it. I wanted to love it like everyone before me but it didn't work. I wont be repurchasing it.
