Some improvement needed

I was so excited to review this system as I've never used falsies before and I loved the idea of magnets to click and go.

The lashes come in black cardboard packaging which encases the lash packaging. This packaging is flimsy plastic with a clear plastic lid thing. Given the lashes are reusable, I thought perhaps the packaging may be prettier (after all, it is Glam) and a bit more robust.

The lashes are handily marked with Left or Right, and are nicely curled. I got the Willow lashes, which have a sort of weave which I wasn’t confident enough to apply mascara to in case I ruined them, but they are dark enough by themselves and the weave effect is slightly dramatic and looked surprisingly natural when on.

On the cardboard packaging, it suggested to check the lashes against your eyes first and trim off any excess. Given there are magnets at the very ends of the lash, I’m not sure how that can be achieved without cutting the magnets off. Luckily, I didn’t have to worry about this.

I found the application of the lashes themselves a little fiddly. The middle magnet is the best at adhesion, but the end and especially the inner eye I had a lot of trouble with, having to apply more eyeliner to try to get the connection. Even then, the lashes would only last a couple of hours max before at least one end would become detached and not stick back down. They would also pull the eyeliner off, leaving it patchy.

Once on though, they look lovely, and as long as the magnets are close to your lash line, they aren’t very noticeable. As even the Willow lashes are black and create a full effect, I didn’t bother applying mascara to my natural lashes. They are also very easy to remove.

Overall, I was disappointed in these lashes. It’s such a great idea but needs some improvement before I would considering purchasing any.

Glam by Manicare Magnetic Ladhes

The packaging the lashes comes in is not too bad, but would prefer them coming in more of case like packaging to protect the lashes as they get handled a lot. I personally feel that the 3 very small magnetic strips could either be lengthened or 1 or 2 more strips added. The eyeliner works fine although I tend to struggle witg liquid liner. It is a bit of a mission to get the lashes on and perfect I struggled a but to get them to stick in the middle but I am sure the more I use them and get more confident will get better at putting the lashes on. The length of the lashes are just perfect and looks amazing once on and with mascara added the effect ate gorgeous.

Tips: Ensure that you apply a generous amount of eyeliner on for the lashes to syick more securely and especially in the corners as they tend to lift.

Magnetic lashes - Type : 65. Khloe

What I like about this product is it is very wearable during the day and did not have that over the top fake look. They make your eyes pop and are natural, without looking unnoticeable.

PACKAGING Packaging is professional looking and gives clear instructions with clear pictures on how to apply the product with the magnetising eyeliner. The lash tray is the normal thin plastic material with a clear thin plastic lid for protection. Not ideal to pop in your handbag as is the flimsiness of the material is very easy to crush (even with the the tray in the black outer package) and the lid may even slide off. If traveling with them, it would be best to pop them in a toiletry/makeup bag for extra protection and piece of mind. The tray has four sticky dots, two for each end of the individual lash to keep it secure. Be very gentle when peeling off, as the lashes are delicate. I recommend after use, placing the lashes back in the tray and lightly sticking them to the dots so it is easier to peel, and remains its curve in the lash line.

LENGTH The inner corner of the lashes are a good noticeable length which increases nicely to the outer corner in a smooth curve. The curl is not too dramatic so the lashes do not irritate the eyelids, but are just a soft tickle like your own eyelashes when looking up.

MICRO MAGNETS The lashes come with three micro magnets on each, located on each end and in the middle. They are unnoticeable when wearing except in the inner corners as it did not magnetise well. The magnets in the inner corners are not obvious, but look like a thick lash line that didn't stick down properly. This can be hidden by creating a thick line with eyeliner to hide where it lifts up. However it will not be a 'natural', light, daytime look. One thing I find frustrating is the first instruction which is "Try on lashes to check fit and trim if needed without cutting off outer magnets" to me this means the lash line, not the actual length of the lashes. Unfortunately I could not trim them because the magnets are right on the edge of each end. So bear that in mind if your eyes are on the smaller side and often trim ordinary glue on lashes. Another aspect which I found frustrating was the magnetising to the eyeliner. Now I have used magnetic eyelashes of different sizes and styles, and applying these lashes made me feel like a 7 year old putting on make up for the first time. It is the longest I have taken to put on magnetic lashes, even after the first time.

Overall they are pretty but do take practice. I prefer them to glue on lashes as they are a pain and never stick down properly for me, so this is less messy and is adjustable throughout the day, but can be very frustrating with it not magnetising strongly. I will continue to use them when I have the time and an occasion to do so, but will not be a part of my daily routine. I probably will not repurchase as I don't think it's worth the fuss, especially if you are wanting it for daily use.

Tips: Use mascara like you would with glue on lashes before application as they blend in much better and give a fuller effect.

#64 "Willow"

Glam Pro Magnetic Eyelash system by Manicure consists of two products: a magnetising liquid eyeliner, and magnetic eyelashes, both of which are sold separately.

Once the eyeliner had been applied and was completely dry, and mascara had been applied to my natural lashes (see separate eyeliner review for tips), I lifted the Natural magnetic "Willow" eyelashes out of their case. They're lightweight, reusable, and simply clip onto the eyeliner with three little magnets situated on the lash band (one in the centre, and one on each end).

To apply, I hold the false lash with my fingertips and place it as close to my natural lashes as I can, lining the outer edge of the lash with the outer corner of my eye before sticking down the centre magnet. I then attach the outer magnet and then secure the inner magnet, and Voila! No mess, no fuss, perfectly blended lashes. If you need to blend your natural lashes into the falsies, simply use your finger to curl and push your natural lashes upwards. To remove them, grab the outer edge of the lash and gently pull them off.

One thing I didn't like about this eyelash system is that the video on Manicare's website says you can simply pull the "Willow" lashes off and clip on the more dramatic "Khloe" lashes to go from a day to night look. When I removed the "Willow" lashes to show someone what the magnets looked like, it pulled off chunks of eyeliner off my eyelid, so it's not as simple as they say. The magnetic eyeliner does need to be touched up before they can be reapplied, its not as simple as take off and stick back on.

This happened the second and third times that I used the lashes, and I double checked the Manicare video to see if it happened to their "Glambassador" as well, and it looks like it does, although they sneakily cut the video and she comes back with perfect eyeliner before putting fresh lashes on. If you know what you're looking for, you can see where the magnet lifts off her eyeliner in the video, just before they cut the scene. (I'll post a pic of what happened with mine on the Photo Wall).

Overall, this magnetic eyelash system was much easier to use than traditional lashes and eyelash glue. They're easier to fit, as there's nothing sticky on the eyelash band, so you're able to place them right up against your lashes and move them around before having to clip them in place. I loved trialling this system and even though the initial cost is a bit pricey (it's the eyeliner that's expensive), once you have the eyeliner, replacing the lashes if/when they wear out is actually not that expensive. I'd recommend this eyelash system and will definitely continue to use them.

Tips: I tightline my upper lashes with pencil eyeliner before applying the liquid eyeliner and magnetic lashes. This helps to prevent it looking like there's a large gap between my natural lashes and the falsies, if I don't get them on perfectly snug.

Cool concept but left disappointed.

I don't normally wear false eyelashes as I'm pretty useless at applying them but I do love the extra oomph they make to your eyes so this was a welcomed treat.

I received the natural or 64. Willow lashes to trial. They are criss crossed with some longer and some slightly shorter lashes, quite striking but without that drag queen look.

They came packaged up in a plastic tray, nothing flash but does the trick. They are stuck down with double sided tape so care is needed when lifting them out not to damage the lashes. There are clear instructions on the back of the box and a video on their website to follow.

One thing I like about these false lashes is that they fit nicely across my eyelids without any overhang so there was no need to trim. I wouldn't recommend trimming them anyway as they have magnets right on each end. I was worried the magnets might be noticeable when applied but this wasn't the case.

While I really wanted to like the eyelashes I was left disappointed. They just didn't quite stay put in the inner corner and it took several attempts to get them to stay down for them to just lift up again. I tried many different methods and I even followed their instructions so perhaps I am so useless that the laws of magnetic forces don't apply to me! I look forward to hearing how other reviewers went and any tips or tricks to make them adhere properly.

Tips: Watch the application video online.

Magnetic Lashes by Glam

Its a two product system, so reviewing the lashes solo is a bit tricky as you wouldn't buy them without the eyeliner. The eyeliner has magnetic particles in it to attract the lashes . So glue is no more.

The lashes themselves are great quality and fit my eye shape perfectly. Only thing is Im not sure of what would happen for people who needed to trim them as theres only 3 magnetic strips across the lash.

I received Khloe - they were very dramatic - perfect for a night out!

Magnetic eyelashes,

I really loved the pair of lashes, i got the style khole and they fit like a dream, i dont think they would work they dont fit your eye, as the little magnets are at each end an the middle so it would be hard to trim. They are great quality an i love they fact that u can re use an they save a lot of time.

Tips: Add a decent coat of eyeliner an let dry completely beofe applying lashes

Good Idea, Room For Improvement Though

Got these (WILLOW) in the recent vault haul. Sleek packaging that matches the magnetic liner. Black box, silver writing. Descriptions on the box highlight features of these lashes. A window panel lets you see the lash style clearly.

Trying to get the lashes out of the tray was a trial in testing my patience. It has 2 little glue pads per lash I assume to hold the lashes in place. It was a challenge to remove the lashes without pulling it apart or damaging the magnets on each end. Some of the individual lashes got stuck on the adhesive and I had to use tweezers to separate the clumps.

The lash band has 3 magnets, located at both ends and in the middle. In terms of application, the 3 magnets did the job . Personally i'd like 2 more magnets between the spaces which in theory would make for better staying power. I didn't need to trim these lashes down to fit my eye shape. However if you needed to do this I don't know how you would as there in space with the magnets in place.

Very lightweight and I like the look of these. I wore these during the day at work and it's a nice look. Gives a little something extra but not over the top. I like the idea of these and have found it slightly easier to use than the traditional lash and glue which I can't master at all. I think these would be great for beginner lash wearers but still think the design could be improved.

I like it enough that I want to buy the dramatic set of lashes just to give it a go. Would like to see other lash styles in the magnetic range also.

Great!

I picked these up in a vault as part of the magnetising lash system, which i LOVE.

The Khloe lashes are meant to be the more dramatic, fuller ones but I feel like they could be even bigger. So saying, they def add impact and are fairly easy to use.

I dislike the packaging - the glue spots are odd as they're too sticky and you have to be super careful extracting the lashes. The case is also ridiculously big for a set of lashes - such a waste of plastic.

The magnets are possibly a little too noticeable but once on and in place with your eyes open they're not so bad.

Application is reasonably straightforward - the liner works like normal liner, and then you attach these; the left/right thing is to do with the curve being correct and the slightly shorter lashes being in the middle, i think. Removal is simple, and then it's just a case of washing your face as normal.

Will def keep using these but I do hope they bring out a much more dramatic version as well :D

Tips: have a couple of practice goes before you need to wear them for an event so that you know a) if they need trimming (didn't for me) and b) how to get them closest to the lash line on your eyes.

I was very excited

I was very excited to try these out but very nervous aswell lashes is not something i wear very ofter but thes are glue and fool proofe so why not right?

First i applyd all my make up and then mascara and then i did my eyeliner ( magnetic eyeliner) amd then i started to fit them i dont know what i was expecting but i was struggling quit a bit so i applyd a nother layer of eyeliner and then they stuck quit easy the size was perfect and they looked good..

And then i wasent even out the door and they started coming undone at the ends. I didnt want to be iritated or insecure about lashes all day so i just took them of. The eyeliner looked good tho.
