Garnier Skin Perfector BB Cream Review

This is the first BB cream i have tried and although i have nothing to compare it to i have heard and watched many beauty reviews on what a BB cream achieves. My first thoughts when opening the package was that i had sadly received the wrong color, Medium. I am of olive complexion but this seemed really dark , unsure of if it was meant to be darker than my skin tone i trialed it anyway. I squeezed a small amount onto the back of my hand and was delighted by the light scent which i can only describe as fresh almost floral, different to my usual brand, shiseido. I glided it onto my face using my fingertips as i had seen many beauty reviewers do and it spread like silk and was lovely to apply, i was a little shocked by the color and had to laugh as i looked quite orange,I let this to set for a few minutes before applying my usual foundation and continuing with my regular beauty routine. I was very surprised that the color actually blended in very well with my lighter foundation and did not look orange at all. I continued this routine through out the week. What i discovered is that i had slightly more coverage than pre BB routine and a softer slightly flawless complexion. I have fine lines around my eyes and i was surprised with the way they were less noticeable than usual. Another thing i noted is that my makeup seemed to stay on longer than usual, this could have been because it is winter but if i continue to use through to summer i will see if i still see the same results.

This is the second BB Cream that I have used and I was hoping to like it more than the first one. I normally just use concealer on spots and under my eyes so I was hoping that BB cream would be a good alternative to a full on foundation. Although it is light and does blend well I still feel like I've got a bit of a layer of makeup on which is not pleasant for me. I think this would be a great cream if you normally wear foundation or BB cream but for myself I think I will stick to concealer unless I am going for a full made up, dramatic look.

I was accepted onto this trial and was really excited the day my package arrived. I've been wanting to try a BB cream for a long time now but havent gotten around to it so this was a fantastic chance to try it out. I've got fairly normal skin, a bit dry on my forehead and cheeks at times and have a decent coverage of freckles. Ive never wanted a full coverage foundation as to cover all the freckles I'd need a decent mask and prefer a natural look. On squeezing the first blob onto my hand it had quite a dark hue to it and looked quite thick, to be honest it felt weird to apply as I felt it left a residue on my face, and felt a little bit sticky compared to my normal revlon photoready foundation. Coverage wasnt that fantastic but in all honesty it did even out my complexion compared to no makeup (i took a before and after photo). However for my under eyes I had to apply a layer of foundation over top to get the coverage I would want, also on any other problem areas I was finding on the given day. I'm a firm believer in laziness and fingers are my weapon of choice for application and it went on smoothly however I was left wanting to wash my hands afterwards. It does have a bit of a scent to it - not a bad one but one that is there none-the-less, it didnt bother me too much buti definitely notice it when I apply it. Because it has such a light coverage i'm not exactly sure how long it lasts for but applying it about 7 hours ago i can still feel the moisturising aspect on my cheeks when i touch them. The tube has a pop open lid and you squeeze out the amount you want, fairly easy to use and not too much mess or fuss. Day one I did not like this product. Day two I didnt really dislike it Day three i realised it's not a foundation... it's a BB cream and I shouldnt be judging it by foundation standards... it does entirely different things to what I normally would be using so of course it's going to feel different. I will continue to use this although I'm not yet sure if I will buy another tube once this one runs out - I'm not in love with it yet.

I had used one ages ago and didn't really like it, I have worn this nearly every day since getting it and love it! Its got a great coverage which I wasn't expecting, and skin looks healthy. I still put my foundation over it but it sits beautifully!

Just a lovely product to use if you dont want heavy make up, really nice to for day time use . The colour was perfect, just a great all rounder.

Over the last few years I have found my self trying a few Garnier products. When they release there BB creams the first thing that attracted me was the price and that I could purchase it at a number of shops not just a chemist etc. Upon using this BB cream, the first thing I disliked was the texture. It was to thick for my liking, how ever, after a few attempts I have learnt to right ammount to use for my skin. When I first tryed it, I must have used to mush as it felt oily and messy on my skin. I found that less really is more with this product. When I have applied small amounts and built it up, I have been very satisfied with the results. I find it helped to even my skin-tone and gave it a subtle healthy glow. I tried it under my usual daily makeup and found that my midday my makeup was a oily mess and would not recommend it for that reason. I did enjoy wearing it with just a powder on top for a not made up look. I found that with the powder atop, by the end of the day my makeup still looked fairly natural. For this reason I would recommend this for people who wear minimal makeup or for teens who are starting their makeup journeys. I know Garnier make another BB cream that comes in a taller and skinner tube and personally prefer that one, as it is more liquid and applies and blends better on me. I think that they could repackage the product and aim it maybe at the youth market as I believe this product would be better for their skin. Over all, whilst it took me a while to get used to and I personally wont run out and by it, I would recommend it to people with dryer skin, as it is quite thick it may help?

Let me start off by saying I absolutely love this BB Cream! It's the first one I've tried, only because I didn't think they would do anything for me as I usually like fuller coverage foundations. This BB cream is now a favourite of mine and I will definitely be using it heaps in the future

I've tried a few different BB creams and this one is at the top for sure.

It has really great coverage without feeling heavy or oily. I don't notice it at all when i've got it on.

Super easy to apply, I just use my fingers and apply it like moisturiser.

Also is great value for money as you only need a small amount to get full coverage. I used about a pea sized drop and that is probably a little generous.

I have fair to medium complection and the light shade was perfect for me.

I'm not sure i would agree with the claim of instantly flawless skin but I do like the way my skin looks when I use this. I also have sensitive reactive skin and this product is totally safe for me to use which I love.

All in all i would definitely recommend this to others.

My skin is normal and therefore I requested the normal BB cream - I don't have many issues with my skin however I do like a fully covered look that makes my skin all one tone rather than multiple tones, and this BB cream did just that, it kept my skin EXTREMELEY hydrated and produced a one skin tone look. It has a nice creamy texture which makes it easy to apply (I Used fingers to place it on and then brush to blend it in) and makes your face feel nice and smooth. I couldn't really smell any fragrance while it was on my face. Its definitely not a complete Full Coverage (and it does not state to claim this either) however it does create a one tone look which is great for casual outings/going to university. I did find it to be too dewy sometimes, in the middle of the day I had to blot my face with tissue to lift the Dewey look off, but it did last an 8 hour day. Price was not too bad either, I began to use it more as a primer and actually mixed it in with my regular full cover foundation which worked SO WELL. I mixed a little bit of foundation with a little bit of BB cream then applied with a blending brush and it gave a full cover with a nice moisturized look - and for a party I also applied mineral powder on top to lock it all in and it looked amazing. The packaging was nice and appropriate for this product and easy to read and use. Overall the product definitely did what it said it would do, which is great, however I would not purchase the 'normal skin' one and maybe try the 'oily skin' version to see if that excess Dewey look disappears. I would highly recommend this product for someone who does not want full coverage, and someone who has very dry skin as I feel this is a great way to keep the moister in your skin!
