Garnier Skin Perfector BB Cream Oil-Free Review

Let's start with some positives. This has great coverage, it's a thicker consistency that I expected, more of a foundation texture. It doesn't have a strong scent. And that's about it. One of the most important qualities of a make-up product is that it is long lasting and comfortable and unfortunately this product fell short on both counts. It transferred quite badly and half-way through a working day all I wanted to do was go home and wash my face. I guess it'll be good for short days (i.e. popping out to the supermarket) and I'll finish the tube, but won't repurchase as I'm willing to spend a bit more for a better BB cream.

My skin type is oily/combination but I think this particular product is too oil free for my complexion. It dried it out and didn't sit in the pores too well.

I am approaching fifty and probably needed the anti-aging version but I don't have many wrinkles around my eyes so applied for the Oil Free product as it seemed more appropriate, my mistake.

On saying that I liked a lot about this product.

It's consistency, which is fluid, is like a mixture between a foundation and moisturiser. This made the application relatively easy, but I needed two layers for it to give complete coverage.

The fragrance wasn't obnoxious thankfully. It lasted fairly well too, for most of the day without needing reapplication.

I have recommended this product to a friend with dry skin issues but suggested she try the one specifically for her skin type.

All in all good value for money and the cardboard packaging is minimal which is a plus point.

I would definitely be open to buying the anti aging product in the line, it would be more appropriate in general for my skin type.

I actually liked this product more then I thought I would, which is always a nice surprise! First of all, I quite liked the packaging. Nice and small so it's easy to pop into your handbag and I liked the champagne colour of the tube. The BB cream itself was more runny than I'm used too with my normal BB cream, but when I applied the cream to my face it didn't feel overly runny and it gave really nice coverage. I have quite a bit of redness and like to have something on top of my skin that will actually give me the coverage I need and this product did that. I have oily skin so I still needed to use my powder on top so it would last. I would use this BB cream again. It wasn't overly perfumed and really easy to apply.

My skin type is oily to combination. For my trial, I got the Oily to combination skin in the shade light. I love how it has SPF 15 in it which gives my face protection from the sun. The consistency of this product is really light and a bit watery, but I honestly don’t mind it at all. It is very easy to apply - I just use my fingertips to apply and blend since I got no time in the morning. It has bit of fragrance but doesn’t last that long. It provides a lot of coverage and gives my skin a matte finish. This BB cream lasts the entire day on my face (I set it with a pressed powder). Im not a big fan of the packaging though. When you open it, the product is all over inside the lid and around the nozzle. Overall, I reckon this is a good product. It does what it claims on the box: shine control and matte finish, reduces pores, corrects blemishes, evens complexion, hydrates and UV protection SPF. I would definitely recommend it to a friend.

reduces imperfections (couldn't say much), moisturises (definitely), gives skin a healthy glow (yes), delivers a matte finish to skin (a little bit).

I used this product with the foundation brush so just that it would give me a better coverage on my skin. I find that if I massage it with my fingers it tend to look that I have put too much of the tinted moisturiser. It also said that skin would be less shiny (this I actually disagree after I apply the moisturiser using my clean foundation brush I do have to apply pressed powder to lessen the shine on my face preferably around my T-zone). I have only been using the product for a week now and I haven't noticed any difference at all especially with my pore size. I did noticed that my skin sometimes is a bit too dry after using the said product. I don't know if it is a bit harsher than the other BB Creams but this leaves peeling of (facial) skin after a day of wearing it.

I will still continue on using the product and see if it actually says what it promises (bear in mind it says visible changes will be seen after 4 weeks) it is still too early to tell and judge. I am just writing at the moment what I see.

The good side of this is that when in a hurry and you need a quick touch up; the product actually looks like a foundation on to your face.

Nice moist foundation which gave a satisfying matte coverage assisting in hiding any imperfections, smooth and silky feel to put on was a lasting foundation that gave an even finish. Lasted for the day also good for my sensitive skin which showed no reaction to this foundation. Would recommend this to my friends and any one wanting a natural looking coverage.

I was very pleasantly surprised but this product, I have previously tried one other BB cream (Anti Ageing cream) which was too thick for me and required separate moisturisor application prior to use. The BB cream Oil-free has a smooth liquid consistency, so you do not need much to get an even coverage. It therefore feels light on your skin. I've stopped wearing regular foundation, but was actually very comfortable wearing this cream. It comes in two shade Light and Medium, I selected the medium. Please note, there appears to be inconsistencies in the shades between BB creams as the medium shade Anti Ageing cream was too dark for me, where as this cream was perfect. I tend to get an oily sheen on my forehead and nose, the BB cream Oil-free gave a lovely matte finish, no touch ups or powder required during the day. My skin can become quite rosy especially my cheeks and nose, the cream gave me a lovely natural even healthy glow. My pores were certainly less visible. I believe my skin remained hydrated as it never felt dry or tight. The cream includes SPF 15 which is great for NZ weather. It has a slightly chemical smell, but is not offensive. BB cream Oil-free comes in box that looks part beauty product, part prescription medicine. I found the packaging very busy with too much writing on it. The tube inside is a nice long slender tube, perfect for makeup bags. The product is recommended for people under 20 to early 40's. I'm nearly 40 and would happily continue to use this product for years to come.

Firstly, I have olive skin which can occasionally get oily so I chose the oil free formula. The tube is a convenient size, but not too small. The consistency of the product is quite watery meaning it spills out of the tube if you are not careful. In saying that, the watery texture makes this product easy to apply with just the fingers. I found that it produced good all over coverage with a Matt finish that lasted all day. I normally use natural products so found the chemical smell of this product to be quite strong. On a whole, for a cheaply priced product, I think it punched above its weight and I will continue using as a back up product.

i have combination skin and have an oily tzone. tried this product alone and i absolutely love it! it gets absorbed very quickly and leave an even matte finish but doesnt look cakey even with repeated application.. the only thing i didnt like was that it doesnt last long and i find i have to reapply the product especially on my nose several times in a day.. but its good in covering up a bit pf redness and imperfections.

My day starts at 6am every morning and i usually don't get home till about 5pm. I also have to look presentable and professional everyday so my makeup needs to be on point, so i decided to trial this product out for a week, in substitute for my foundation, and i am sooo happy i did and also grateful to be chosen for the trial! The consistency of the product is quite runny but creamy. However, It offers full coverage as a BB Cream so i was really impressed. From using this product i could also tell that it was made for combination to oily skin, as the shine on my face was generally reduced, which i was quite happy with as i didn't have to use a shine control finishing powder. YAAY! In saying this, i noticed that i never really had to make any touch ups during the day, which made me SUPER impressed, so it is long lasting, and feels very light on. I also wasn’t outside long enough at a time to be able to comment on the SPF fairly.

This has been one of my best friends during the week’s trial, and i was amazed at all the benefits the product provided. The only negative I would comment about would be that quite a lot runs out of the tube when you open and squeeze it, so just be a bit weary of that. Other than that this product gets two big thumbs up from me.
