GARNIER'S new BB Cream,  combats shiny, oily skin, by combining the power of ultra-absorbent mineral pigments for an immediate matte look and perfect, even-toned skin.

The oil-free BB cream works in five ways. It reduces imperfections, moisturises, gives skin a healthy glow, delivers a beautiful matte finish to skin and provides all-important sun protection with SPF 15.

GARNIER'S Oil-free BB Cream provides instant results while also improving the skin’s quality over time. After four weeks the results are clearly visible; skin is less oily, pores reduced in size, imperfections are visibly reduced and skin radiance is improved.

It has a  new active ingredient,  Mineral perlite - a powerful volcanic rock extract known for its ultra-absorbing properties.

Mineral perlite is able to retain up to two-and-a-half times its weight in oil and water and is five times more absorbing than talc, meaning any excess sebum is absorbed to fight that oily shine. This combined with uncoated mineral pigments gives the skin an even tone and a perfectly matte finish

GARNIER Miracle Skin Perfector-Oil-free BB cream is available in two shades - light and medium.

Definitely not for my kind of oiliness

My first impression was that the tube was cute, but on taking the lid off was met with an overflow mess since the lid is on the bottom of the tube and the formula is very thin and runny. On applying it to my face I realised it dried very quickly so I had to apply and blend it quickly, which I didn't like having to rush so much. Once I'd applied it, I noticed that it made my usually shiny nose really dry and flaky, which was not a good look. The light shade also seems a bit chalky for my skin, so I removed it and haven't used it again. I had been using the anti ageing BB cream, but found it left my skin oily, so thought this would be perfect, but not so much.

On the fence a bit with this

Initially when using this product I noticed that it was very runny. Once I applied it I must admit it did give a lovely even skin tone and made any redness less visible. My plan was to wear this underneath my normal mineral powder foundation, but it made it seem too heavy for me. Even though it was oil free I still found it made my face shiny by the end of the day. In saying that, my sister swears by it and wears this with just a little bit of bronzer over the top for color. I would still recommend it to others as it does even out the skin tone very well

Took a while to convince me

I have had this product for a while and to be honest with everyone I just wasn't impressed with it from the start. It is running in consistency compared to other BBs and I was applying it with my fingers. not only was this messy but it definitely contributed to my dislike of the end result.

Now having had such a negative introduction to this I still couldn't bare to part ways, so in my handbag (also known as the abyss) it would sit... flash forward to present day and I found myself out with no make up on and no make up in my bag (eeek) so I was desperate and grabbed my foundation brush and my BB and what do you know... WHAT A DIFFERENCE!! Heck I think I am converted.

I found the coverage to be just about perfect and it felt light, no cakeyness and best of all it didn't make me look orange (bad experience flashback), and no breakouts after!!!.

I have scored this lower than I would have normally due to first impressions and no tips on applying it with a foundation brush to be found anywhere on packaging (having only been converted to brushes in the past year or so... I found this an important piece of information that was lacking)

Tips: Apply with a brush for best results

Awesome!

I stood in the supermarket trying to decide between this and the usual tinted moisturiser I use. I chose this one because I have combination skin and this is oil free. The disappointing part was the consistency, a bit runny, though in saying that it still provides good coverage and a little goes a long way. The price was good too. I also liked that it has sunscreen in it. It evened out my skin tone (I have pink areas around my nose) and I felt I didn't need any foundation after applying this.

Tips: Remember that sunscreen only lasts 2 hours if you are using it for that effect.

Not a fan

I've tried lots of BB creams, and this one was a real flop. The consistency is awful, far too runny for a BB cream. The coverage is ever so minimal, very light with not much depth to the colour at all. More of a lightly tinted moisturiser than a BB cream. And it left my skin feeling dry and irritated. Just not a very product at all. Very disappointed!

A nice change from foundation

I have been using this BB cream as my (nearly) everyday foundation since it was released in NZ, so suffice to say I'm pretty happy with the product. My skin is usually quite clear so for me this provides the coverage I need, especially if applied with a foundation brush. I usually just set it with a bit of powder too.

I have quite pale skin so find the light version suits me well. It lasts well throughout the day (I will only touch up with some powder if going out past 5pm), and I've found it actually lasts on me better than many of the full coverage foundations I've tried.

Tips: If you've got combination skin I'd recommend still moisturising first, especially in winter, as this can be a bit drying.

Applying it with a foundation brush actually gives quite nice (and buildable) coverage. Definitely for those wanting light coverage though.

Disappointing :(

I found this to be a good winter colour match for my skin. I was excited because of that. However its too runny. It dried my skin out soooo much that I actually had flaky bits of skin (primarily on my nose) where there wernt flakes before! The coverage is very light to medium at most. Overall I wouldnt recommend to anyone. I havent purchased again and the tube I do have is 3/4 full, and Ive had it for ages.

Oh man that's such a pain. To be honest I've given up on bb creams -- they're just cheap foundations! It's all a marketing gimmick. It is handy having SPF in them I suppose.

No I havent @brushandbullet. I have oily/combination skin so I tried this. I should have also mentioned that it made the more oily prone parts of my face even more oily. Hmmm I might actually try the normal one though.

Have you tried the regular version? This one's for oily/combination skin, which I find ok for me but the regular version was a bit too heavy and moisturising for me.

Old Friend

I tried this product a while ago before the hype and I liked it but thought it oxidized more than I would like. I want to retry and work with it better and possible get a better shade. It's a really runny consistency with a decent pigmentation. Would recommend for those looking for a lightweight alternative

Tips: Pale girls beware the lightest shade 'fair' isn't THAT fair

Sheer and radiant

I purchase a medium and light shades in this product and mix them together to suit my skin tone. I'm very oily, and approaching another birthday, so wanted/needed to change my foundation, to something more sheer and not so aging.

Tips: I still need a powder to dull my shine and I use the Australis sheer powder, translucent.

Not all I thought it would be

I really love the original product, but didn't really like this oil free version. I found it to be quite pale, even using the medium one. It is much paler than the original version of this product. I also found it took quite a while for it to blend into my skin. I don't have particularly oily skin, so perhaps this is why it didn't work for me. I also found it to be quite runny and messy coming out of the tube. It does come in a great sized tube which would be handy for your handbag.
