Non drying and sensitive skin friendly.

I have fairly sensitive dry skin and usually stay away from using these oil make up removers as I normally find them too harsh on my skin.   The packaging is no different to the other  Garnier removers, a plastic see thru bottle. The design is rather uninspiring apart from the purply/blue oil layer. It does say on the back that the bottle is 100% recycable and the flip top lid feels secure and hasn't leaked so that's a big thumbs up from me.

The bottle is quite big being 400mls. Which is probably an ideal size for a make up artist or someone who wears make up everyday but because I don't I would normally buy smaller more portable or travel friendly bottles. According to the packaging there are roughly 200 uses which does make it an affordable cleanser.

Due to oil sitting at the top and the micellar water being underneath it does needs a really  good shake to combine the layers to get the benefits of both. To use I simply shake and pour over a plain cotton wipe. I then gently dub over my eyes and swipe over my face for a few seconds. I didn't feel the need to scrub as I found it removed the make up easily . Although not necessary I do prefer to rinse my face off after use as it can feel a bit oily.

The main difference with this make up remover compared to other similar products is it appears to be less drying on my skin after use. It does have added fragrance and while the scent is not unpleasant and hasn't increased my skin sensitivity, it does seem unnecessary.

The good things about this remover are: cheap; non drying; didn't irritate my skin and removed all traces of make up including waterproof mascara.

The not so good: currently only available in 400mls; the added fragrance and lastly it did leave an oily residue.

Yes I recommend this product.

Tips: Store away from sunlight.

Beautiful Blue Look & It Works

Purchased while on holiday as I needed a multi purpose product. This worked wonders on a waterproof mascara I purchased recently. Gets it all of in a couple of swipes. Was surprised how scented it was for an eye product. Doesn't prevent me from using it though.

This is the second type of Micellar water I have tried from the brand and am just as impressed with it. Keen to try others from the range but would also repurchase this one too.

Micellar cleans my skin while keeping it moist!

I have been using Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water in Oil for almost a week now, and I’m converted! I love how it removes my make up without having to avoid the eyes area. Usually I had to be careful to use make up remover around my eyes because I’m wearing contact lenses. And my eyes feel the stings when I use it too close. With Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water in Oil, my skin feels clean and smooth, without the dry feeling, and no more stings in the eyes! I love it!

Tips: Shake the bottles well, then pour Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water in Oil on a cotton pad. Don’t worry to clean close to the eyes area, it won’t sting!

Underwhelming

First off, let me start this by stating my very first impression was not good. And first impressions stick right? The lid was broken (I was sent it to review), so the product had leaked EVERYWHERE. The lid felt flimsy compared to the other Garnier Micellar products I have (which have same design, same bottle etc). The break also meant the lid didn't seal so that was fun in a product that you're meant to shake before using! And it meant the air was getting into the product, introducing bacteria and potentially spoiling it quicker.

REGARDLESS, the product didn't really do much?! At the end of the day it didn't really remove my makeup. Yet the other Garnier Micellar product I have (just the normal bog-standard one) pulled heaps of foundation and most of my waterproof mascara off.

The delicateness of this product is definitely true. It didn't sting my eyes or cause a rash or redness on my very sensitive skin. To be fair, it did feel nice on my skin - there was no heavy residue or feeling you were being smothered by the product. But it also didn't cleane or soothe. The taste (cause yes, you can use this to remove lipstick and that generally means a wee aftertaste) is putrid too. Just be warned.

I have to say too that I'm a little bit hoha with products that demand a high throw-away count. The instructions state to apply with a cotton pad and given I'm trying to be more mindful about sustainability and kaitiakitanga in all aspects of my life, chucking out two cotton pads a day (at least) just to clean my face seems wasteful.

I'll be sticking to my regular Micellar water (with my homemade reusable makeup wipes) and sadly I can't recommend this product.

Tips: Make or buy some reusable makeup wipes to lower your impact on the environment if using this product.

Great for sensitive eyes!

I jumped on board the Micellar Water train as soon as the pink Garnier one came out. I have also used the Garnier Micellar Gel Face Wash and their Milky Micellar Water.

I found this to be extra gentle around my sensitive eyes. It didn't cause any irritation and removed makeup easily. I removed one lippy as I still need to do a little rubbing with my wash cloth/cotton pad to remove all traces of eye makeup.

Personally, I don't like the feel of oil on my skin after using this, so I always double-cleanse with another face wash. This makes me not want to repurchase as much but if given the chance, I would use this again.

I would recommend this to a friend, especially those with sensitive skin!

Great for use with contact lenses

The best things about this cleanser is you don't need to rub hard to get the makeup off. This is especially good on the eye area as just a gentle wipe removes all eye makeup (including waterproof mascara). This means I can keep my contact lenses in if I want to as I am not worried about pushing them around and getting dislodged. It also was gentle enough not to irritate my eyes or eye area.

This micellar water comes in a very generous 400ml size, so it will last a long time. The water is clear, with a small blue layer of oil. When shaken up to mix the water and oil, it turns a pale blue. The water cleanses the skin and removes makeup well, while the oil left my skin feeling moisturised and hydrated.

One downside is the water and oil separate quickly so you need to shake and quickly pour onto a flannel. I found if I left it too long, I would get too much oil on my face and leave my face feeling a bit greasy. I was also a bit surprised that for a sensitive product it has a strong floral scent, but it doesn't bother me.

Overall, a great product and very good value for money.

Tips: Apply using a flannel or cloth to cut down the amount of cotron make up pads being used and thrown away.

My everyday makeup remover

I use makeup everyday and so makeup remover is something that I use everyday. I have used several makeup removers before but didn't like it because I break out of pimples because it doesn't remove my makeup completely.

I am really lucky to be able to try Garnier Micellar Water in Oil Delicate Eyes & Skin. I've been using it everyday since I got it and never had any issues with it. I didn't break out and as a contact lens wearer, I like that it doesn't dry out my eyes with my contacts on. I also love that it has a subtle scent. Unlike others, I like my products scented and I love it when I smell the scent of my face. It is relaxing to me.

Overall, would definitely recommend it to everyone. I think that it would suit any skin type since I have a very delicate skin but it worked for me.

Tips: Shake it vigorously to mix the contents well

Garnier Micellar Water in Oil Delicate Eyes & Skin

The typical look Garnier bottle arrived at work with the flip top lid secured with tape. I removed the tape and found that the flip top lid does lock securely and I could not detect any leaks.

The biggest difference between the “normal” micellar water and the Garnier Micellar Water in Oil Delicate Eyes & Skin is distinctive blue/purplish oil drift to the top of the bottle.

A gentle shake is all it takes to mix it through, the application is easily achieved with a cotton pad. I was nervous that it would be oily but I found that applied to my skin without leaving any residue and oiliness at all. It is super soft on the eyes (especially my super sensitive eyes), cornflower water helps relax and soothe delicate eye contours. The product is quite watery and very light to touch. It did a great job cleaning of mascara and eye makeup and left my skin nourished skin without any rubbing or rinsing .

You don’t need much and a cotton pad lightly soaked (no squeezing of the bottle required) was enough to clean my face. I do normally run a second cotton pad over to ensure my skin is properly cleaned. As it comes in a 400ml bottle it will as it predecessors last quite a long time. I would like to see these in travel size bottles. Currently, I decant them for traveling into Shampoo/Conditioner travel bottles that work well – even to throw into my handbag for use before the gym or just after work. I also appreciate that the bottle is 100% recyclable.

It clearly worked for me and I could remove all my makeup effortlessly with two cotton pads at most. You only need to gentle pressure to release quite a bit from the bottle. I use the Garnier Micellar Water in Oil Delicate Eyes & Skin every morning and every night.

It has a faint smell that is welcoming. I found it left my skin pretty silky and it felt clean with no traces of oiliness at all. It is definitely not irritating to contact wear users.

I would definitely recommend this product to friends and family with sensitive eyes. I do prefer this one to the milky Garnier Micellar water.

At about $10 a bottle, I found it very affordable and economical to use.

Tips: Do not over soak the cotton pad - a little bit goes a long way

Great all one product

I’ve been using this for 5 days now. Texture-light and a slight oily feel. I was slightly worried that this would be too greasy on my skin and was pleasantly surprised by how light it felt. Usage-with a cotton pad is best. Tried splashing onto my palms in the shower but no go! I’d go through 1-2 pads depending on how much makeup I had on it until there was no dirt left. After - really nice soft and supple feeling. Not greasy at all and I don’t find this heavy. Smell- light fragrance. Not overpowering and no difference from what you’d find from other supermarket or higher end brands.

Tips: If you’re after an all in one cleanser then this is well recommended. I have sensitive oily/dry skin and this worked beautifully for me. In saying that I’m still getting used to the concept of not using a traditional face cleanser so will stick to my trusted facial cleanser or will use this as a pre cleanser before my shower.

Very affordable price for the size you get and also the convenience if you want something quick fast yet gentle.

Great for Contact Lens wearers!

I have previously tried the normal version of Garnier's Micellar water and I thought it was a good product for someone who wore minimal makeup and just needed a good first cleanser. With the addition of oil, I found this product to be much more better at taking off stubborn makeup. I thought this did a better job at removing mascara and light-medium coverage foundation. The best part? You don't get that stingy sensation if you've got a sensitive eye area, and it's safe around contact lenses. In total, I probably wouldn't buy it again because I've already got a holy grail eye makeup remover but I would recommend it to my friends who don't wear the heavy duty makeup I do!

Tips: Soak the cotton pads with the water and hold it over your eyes for a 30 seconds. It'll help break down your eye makeup making it easier to wipe away.
