Christian Dior Miss Dior Review

I have this in the 100ml EDP and I must say, what you see in the design of the bottle, with the bow on the cap, gives you an idea as to what the smell is like.

This is 'my' smell. I wear this all-the-time! I don't, however spray this directly on to my skin as it tends to dry me out, I spritz it in the air so it makes a 'cloud' then walk through it so it settles on my clothes instead.

At first it's super sweet and feminine, it's very light, not musky at all, and to me, this is what Paris would smell like if it were in a perfume bottle.

Throughout the day, I don't ever need to re-apply, as it lasts for hours, you still get subtle hints of it as you move about.

This is a beautiful smell, it reminds me of my OE in Dublin as I wore this every day, religiously, and it's where I first came across it. It's well worth the price, so I wouldn't hesitate to buy it when I run out.

So this is an all-time favourite, and will forever be a staple in my perfume collection.

This is where things are going to get confusing:

The picture at the top of this review page is of Miss Dior (the perfume formally known as Miss Dior Cherie, originating in 2005)

The notes described at the top are of the 1947 'Miss Dior' which has no resemblance to 'Miss Dior Cherie' other than the name.

The 1947 Miss Dior is now known as Miss Dior Originale. It comes in a different bottle to the perfume formally known as 'Miss Dior Cherie'(now known as Miss Dior).

Like all other Dior perfumes, the notes themselves have also undergone change alongside the name change. When Miss Dior become Miss Dior Originale, the number of notes have been reduced. I can't comment personally on whether the 2011 reformulation/name change version(Miss Dior Originale) is similar to the old Miss Dior as I haven't tried this.

My review is of the bottle I own which was before the name changes (and therefore, it was still known as Miss Dior at this point and was pre-reformulations that occurred in the '00s).

Miss Dior (1947 perfume line) is a very old fashioned type of scent.

The oakmoss and aldehyde notes are strong in this, giving it a vintage perfume feel. The bottle itself adds to this idea of a scent from a bygone era with it's classic houndstooth design.

I can't say I find this stands out amongst other similar types of chypre scents such as Chanel Cristille.I think these just aren't really my cup of tea in terms of day to day wear, and so I don't have as much appreciation for the subtle differences in notes between fragrances in this genre

I do find that I prefer this to Chanel Cristille though when I am in the mood for something that feels old fashioned.

I'm a huge fan of Dior fragrances and one of their best (in my most humble opinion) has to be Miss Dior. I've only been using it for the past 2 years but I NEVER get sick of it. There are some fragrances that are your favourites but after using it a lot you get sick of it so you take a break - I'm not like that with this perfume. I could wear this everyday but don't want my other fragrances getting jealous tiheee!

The packaging is a solid oblong glass bottle with patterns indented at the bottom, unfortunately the clear lid (embossed with CD) and silver ribbon (lovely touch) are plastic which is odd considering the effort that's gone into the bottle and so it seems like the lid was an after thought. However that aside, it's still visually stunning.

There is something absolutely captivating about this fragrance where once you take a whiff of it; you just want to be surrounded by it. I can't believe someone has actually managed to create this scent AND capture it inside a bottle for all of us to enjoy.

It's jasmine and patchouli lovingly wrapped with shavings of expensive luxurious soap (I'm a soap girl by the way). Now before I get ahead of myself, I've never had expensive soap but there's no doubt in my mind it would smell beyond amazing. It's a strong scent but not overpowering or offensive. It's smooth but not too smooth that you lose the guts of the fragrance.

I love that when this dries down it still smells exactly how I had sprayed it the first time - I lose nothing. This lasts all day and has never failed to amaze me. Like most Dior fragrances it is pricey but it's seriously money well spent. I like to buy the 50ml EDP from Life Pharmacy, Farmers or Duty Free when the big sis comes for a visit. I highly recommend this to anyone searching for a perfume that gives you life!

I bought this beautiful perfume for my wedding day, wanting something new & pretty for our special day. Since that day many years on I use it practically every day. It's beautiful day or night. It's a delicate and very elegant floral scent. It's long lasting through the day and I constantly get asked what perfume I'm wearing.

The bottle itself is just gorgeous, and the spray is a perfect fine mist.

It's not over powering, but very feminine and you will be complimented by many when you wear it. I love it!

Miss Dior, it just sounds luxurious, and it is. It starts with the bottle, clear glass, sleek design and you are able to see the beautiful fragrance inside.

I actually own the original scent, in recent years it has been altered slightly.

I usually am not a fan of floral scents, however this also contains my favourites, patchouli, sandalwood and amber in the base notes.

This scent is subtle and sophisticated and will get you comments, and compliments. It lasts you all day and with another application it will see you into the evening.

One is never too old for Miss Dior. I bought it when I was first at work in London in the early 1970s. The fragrance appealed because it felt very grown up and slightly more subtle than some of the other fragrances I had previously. I still buy some from time to time and it always reminds me of the the journey through life we have been on together. A welcome old friend, I still feel good about myself when I wear it and the little touch of patchouli and sandalwood remind me of fun time without smelling outdated or old fashioned. I highly recommend Miss Dior if you love a touch of soft florals mixed with the musky tones.

I have recently purchased this perfume after trying a sample of it. I was very excited to finally purchase it, it is a beautiful blend of floral without being overpowering. It blends in well with my skin type, and is really long lasting. Once it has been on my skin for a while it has a slight musky scent that blends in with the floral. It is a really girly floral fragrance, unlike my normal fruity fragrances. The packaging is gorgeous! It looks lovely on my dresser. It's a lovely classic to have, and I will definitely keep this as part of my collection.

I recieved this perfume in a mini gift set with 3 other Dior perfumes.

Miss Dior was by far my favourite. The bottle is so cute and sweet especially in the small size and I loved the look. I also really enjoyed the size as it was small enough to fit into my makeup bag or purse for use away from home which was a plus.

It lasts mostly all day and was a scent I would wear on an everyday basis, I would wear it to school and eventually the smell just lingered on my scarf that I wore everyday so some days I wouldnt even need to apply as could still smell on my scarf from the previous day.

The scent was more of a sweet floral girly tones, but very fresh and feminine.

The price however is very high, I think its a good quality perfume and I really enjoyed the smell, however I wont be purchasing again due to price.

I'm a sucker for a beautiful perfume bottle and this is gorgeous. The fragrance is so nice too and people often comment when I wear it. I got a bottle for myself and a few months later for a friend for her wedding day perfume. She loved it also.
