A gift from the husband - tres bien!
Love in Paris isn't the kind of fragrance I would have usually gone for if I were buying a perfume for myself, on the outside the simple rectangular bottle gave it a more sophisticated appearance than my usual perfume, a style that would usually see me bypassing it for a prettier more interesting bottle. But one could only play with her fresh scents for so long, and as this was a gift there was no time like the present to dive into the grown up perfume pool.
Love in Paris Eau De Parfum is as chic as the city it's named after. It's a floral scent, and if I really inhale I get the scent of roses. It's also a little musky, and a tad sweet. It makes me think of a woman sauntering down a boulevard in Paris, carrying a baguette, wearing slim black pencil pants, a breton top, with a beret thrown jauntily atop her head. The downside? I always imagine this woman being on the maturer side, which is no bad thing, but even after owning this perfume for a few years I still feel like it's too grown up for a nearly-36 year old.
I don't wear it regularly, but I do wear it when I'm wanting to feel a little more sophisticated than I really am. The lasting power is excellent, and I never feel the need to resquirt during the day.
Love in Paris is a beautiful perfume, but definitely not for those wanting a kick-your-legs-in-the-air spring lamb kind of scent.
