Basically It's Vaseline

The active ingredient in Eight Hour cream is Petrolatum ( Petroleum) . This product is over priced Vaseline, which is known not to really be the greatest thing for your skin.

It works by sealing the skin from the enviroment. While this can be useful occasionally, if this is done regularly ( say if you were using Eight hour cream as you daily lip balm) then it is going to be detrimental. The skin is unable to breath and absorb moister from the air, and gets out of the habbit of doing so. You then become dependent on using the product all the time. You are better off using a balm that helps the skin to heal and function normally.

Tips: Use some thing else - Like the trilogy everything balm

A great everyday essential

I've used this cream for years and plan on using it for years to come. I use it every night on my lips when I go to sleep and maybe one a fortnight on my face when I've got really dry skin. It's perfect for cuticles and cuts or grazes that are healing and even pimples! Honestly this is a staple in my house and should even be in my first aid kit! Grab some today you won't regret it!

Tips: Also great to calm sunburn! The list is endless :)

Don't judge by its texture

I feel like you can't argue with this product, this is by far one of the most sold products in the beauty world, working in the beauty industry customers constantly recommend and rave about it. The first time I tried it I was taken a back by its sticky balm but it really is so good and so versatile. For those who can remember the old and household product rawleighs this to me is this generations answer to that.

Overrated and goopy

I'd heard rave reviews about this product, but I was totally disappointed. It was goopy, and difficult to apply. Far too sticky to use on my face. There are much better products out there for much less money

Used to be great but they have re-formulated this

this used to be a fantastic product - my mother used it on us as kids and it was a heal all balm. I recently purchased and it gave me chronic dermatitits - bring back the old version this has changed and not for the better!

Elizabeth Arden 7hour Cream

I love this product!! I used to get really dry lips as a child and my mum would let me use her tube of this all the time. I have used this product for almost 20years now and it really works. I mainly use this as a lip balm/gloss. You can use a lip liner all over first then apply this over for a nice hydrating lip colour esp at work if you sit in an airconditioned office all day.

Tips: Purchase this duty free if you can as it's kind of pricey compared to paw paw ointment etc. You can usually find two mini sized tubes sold as a set at duty free :)

In love with this product, i've been using it for a long time and it just does the job for everything. I use it on my lips, on my hands and face as well. Awesome cream!

Sticky and icky

This stuff has such a cult following, I expected it to be amazing, but it was like really thick, orange coloured vaseline...really really thick, like the tackiest lip gloss ever. I'm not sure how people use it on their hands, it felt like my lips were being glued together. I ended up giving it to my Mum and haven't heard a word about it since.

Tips: Err...no?

Elizabeth Arden 8h Cream

This is a great cream to keep in your purse or somewhere which is easily acessible. It is an all-in-one type cream which is especially good for dry skin. I often use it on problem areas which are particularly dry in the winter months due to the wind and cold weather. It's also a fantastic alternative for a lip balm as it is super nourishing. The only downside of this product is it is scented. The scent is a rose-type smell which I do not mind but others might. (They do a non-scented one which would be best for those who don't like the smell!) Overall it's a great product and definitely a staple in my household!

This is a wonder cream. As a child i suffered from sever eczema and as an adult get the odd spot. As soon as it comes up I apply 8 hour cream and within 24 hours it has gone. I also use this on any burns, cuts and have now got several friends on to this for their babies nappy rash. It truly is a wonder cream.
