So I have this product and I use it and it does do what it says it will but I hate the smell! So much so I avoid using it. I have really dry sensitive skin and this product is great for that but I own other products I would prefer to use that do a similar job.. It works.
I have so many tubes of this product, it is insane, but i love it! I have this in my bag, beside my bed, at my work desk and in the lip balm form which is my favourite! It is a fantastic product that has so many uses. It's creamy and so great for keeping my lips soft.
Tips: You don't have to just try this on your lips, I have found it useful for itchy bites, burn marks, and many other things. :)
I love this product, I usually use it for my lips when they are dry & also for my eyes before bed... I feel that this product softens my skin around my eyes. I always have a tube in my handbag.
I think i have a tube of this in every bag I use! I use it for lips (although they need a lip friendly applicator!), itchy bites, chafe, sun burn .. have given a friend some to use on her nipples after b/feeding. I find it doesn't last 8 hours at all but none the less where I put it feels great.
Tips: Clean the lid regularly, rather disturbing what collects under it... Pawpaw is just as good for a fraction of the price.
I used a sample size given to a few years ago and I must say it really works well, I used it on my hands and nails and noticed an improvement after a week, I felt my hands were softer and smoother. I would love to trial this product again.
Love this cream/balm very versatile. I found it great for dry skin patches, pimple scars , insect bites and athletes foot etc
Tips: Not a fan of the smell.
I always have a tube handy, especially with cracks, really dry skin. Fantastic for cuts etc as well. I have even used it on my lips when they have been very dry.
The active ingredient in Eight Hour cream is Petrolatum ( Petroleum) . This product is over priced Vaseline, which is known not to really be the greatest thing for your skin.
It works by sealing the skin from the enviroment. While this can be useful occasionally, if this is done regularly ( say if you were using Eight hour cream as you daily lip balm) then it is going to be detrimental. The skin is unable to breath and absorb moister from the air, and gets out of the habbit of doing so. You then become dependent on using the product all the time. You are better off using a balm that helps the skin to heal and function normally.
Tips: Use some thing else - Like the trilogy everything balm
My mum got me onto this product a few years ago, she uses it religiously, and I have to say its is pretty amazing. I used to love putting it on all the dry patches that I had before jumping into bed ( esp lip) it just works like magic. As I am a poor student now, I don't have any at the moment, but when I go home, I still sneek a bit of mums stash. The smell takes some getting used to, as its odd. but for something that good, yah get over it.
