e.l.f Complexion Brush Review

The major problem with this brush is that it sheds SO much. I'd be trying to blend out my foundation and after I'm done there'd be annoying little black hairs all over my face. It's extremely irritating and persistent even though I've tried washing it and tugging at it gently to pull out any loose hairs. And I usually use a kabuki brush for powder but when I tried this (giving it a chance to prove it's worth) I wasn't really that impressed. So for foundation this is sadly a no. However, I've found that it's really good for blush. Because I crush on blush really lightly and only do gentle circles rather than big back and forth sweeps, there's hardly an 'hair-loss' when I use it for blush. That's a redeeming feature that makes this brush at least somewhat useful. I feel like this would also be good for contouring but I've yet to try it for that. Overall, not bad considering its price. But if it was anything over $10 I wouldn't buy it.

I find that I need my brushes to be sturdy and able to take a bit of blending and buffing. This brush most certainly does not stand that test. It just collapses in a heap and leaves it's bristles all over my face. It says it is for wet and dry? I have proven that theory wrong! It most definitely is not for wet. It sheds all over my clothes and face. I paid a mere $5 so I can't expect miracles but it should at least live up to it's promises surely?

I do love the sleep, black design of the brush and it does look chic in my makeup brushes jar. It is soft and fluffy and feels nice to use but my impressed thoughts on it stop here. I then took to using it as a blush brush, hoping it would be better suited to a powder. NO! It still sheds its fibres.

I used it instead to give my face a shimmer of glitter and for this it's perfect! It is soft enough to just give a light dusting without leaving fairy poofs all over my cheeks. This is all I use it for now which is disappointing. I think if I were to buy it again, it would only be for my nieces as a present to fill up their makeup stash. That is all it is really good for, young girls who are just learning about makeup and how to use brushes.

Definitely won't help you when you try to squish it between your fingers to dust your cheek bones (hopefully you'll get what I mean!) as it won't hold unless you've got mammoth hands.

Good for when you've finished everything and you're going over your face with a powder of some sort to stop the shine.

For $10 this brush is amazing. To this day none of the bristles have fallen out and I've washed it like a million times.

It's a great all rounder - I use mine for contouring because it's slightly tapered (enough to give you a nice line of contour). It's fluffy so it's good for adding colour with blushes and bronzers and blending them out. I also use it to set my foundation with my translucent powder.

This brush can do no wrong and if you can get your hands on it I totally recommend it.

As my title says, this is one of my everyday makeup brushes. e.l.f is becoming one of those grab and run makeup brands, you can trust it and it is so reasonably priced, so to pick this up for $3usd was a must, how could you turn that down. This is from their studio range which I have alot from this range, the brushes are soft but dense and reliable so this brush is exactly the same, thick strong sturdy handle with thick dense bristles, it ends up holding product easy and distributing it evenly which is perfect.

It is a great brush to use with all and any kind of powders, pressed or loose, it helps me create my everyday makeup look, I have easily had my brush for over a year now, using it nearly everyday and washing it more than once a week and still have no shedding, no loosing bristles and it still feels the same way it did the first time it touched my face.

I love this brush, I would happily buy it again and i think every girl needs at least one.

Considering how cheap this brush is it does an amazing job! it is incredibly soft and works for both dry and wet products. The quality is very good, none of the bristles fall out and it a very nice shape so it can be a multi-purpose brush used for powder, blush and bronzer wet or dry. The only thing that I would say is a downer is that the handle is a little loose. But other than that is a incredible brush!

I bought this brush when I bought a set of elf brushes - which are the first set of proper brushes I have ever owned. This brush is one of my favourites. It's so soft, so fanstasic to have near your face. It's also dense enough to hold the powders well. The brush is big enough to be used as an all over powder brush, but the shape promotes bronzing as well. I have actually bought another brush so this could be my dedicated bronzer brush. This brush retains its shape after washing and drying, doesn't shed, and certainly doesn't break easily. This would be a worthy edition to any make-up lovers brush collection!

This is such a perfect face brush. The bristles are super soft so it doesn't drag on your face and hurt it. It is quite a dense brush so it also holds onto powders really well.

I really like the sleek look of the whole brush, Elf is a really cheap brand but I like that their packaging doesn't reflect that. The only slight downside is my handle is a bit loose on the brush but even with that, I still rate this brush a full 15 stars (I just need to get around to purchasing another one at some stage!)

The bristles taper at the top to make a dome-like shape and it is also a flattened brush as well. I usually use this as a setting powder brush but I also find it works well for bronzers or blush. It blends the powders onto my skin really well. I've never tried this brush with a cream or wet product, I didn't know it was designed for that until I read the description above.

I love this brush. It's affordable, great quality and multipurpose. I use this brush not only for powder but also for bronzing up my face and even applying blush. This is the brush that comes with me in my bag, can't live without it. Highly recommend it, you will not be disappointed!

I love this brush. I got it in the set and it's my most used and versatile brush. Up until recently (when I finally decided to spend some $$ and get some more brushes) I was using this as a brush for powder, bronzer and contouring - all in one. It is so soft and perfect for picking up just the right amount of product. I am now just using it for my powder, but for bronzer it was great, it's nice and fluffy and a decent size so it didn't leave any harsh lines and blended it out nicely. And one side of the brush is slightly angled and works great as a contour brush, not for a defined line but a natural shadow. It has last me a long time and is still going strong and I will be purchasing another one soon to be used with my bronzer as the one I switched to isn't doing the same job.
