I was fortunate to be selected to trial this heated lash curler. I’ve used lash curler’s for a number of years and usually will heat the curler with my hairdryer in order to get a better result. Of course the risk of this is over-heating the rubber pad and potentially singing my lashes, so was delighted to give this gadget a trial!
On first glance, it comes in a nicely packaged box, lots of black and contrasting gold, and the unit itself is much the same. It takes 2 x AAA batteries (not supplied), and takes very little time to heat, helpfully the rubber curling pad turns from pink to an opaque colour to let you know when it’s ready (1-2 minutes at most). I did find it a little intimidating putting something heated near my eyelid, but once brave enough I found that the heat curled my lashes nicely. I did two goes on either side alternatively and definitely noticed the curl when applying mascara.
The only drawback is that with a normal eyelash curler you can clearly see where your “clamping” your lashes where-as with this curler, because of it’s bulk, you’re kind of guessing if you're close enough to the base of your lashes. Mine only arrived 3 days before this review was due so I didn’t get a lot of practise time, but I think that with more tries with it, it will become second nature.
My verdict – for the price, definitely worth trying if you’re wanting nicely curled lashes without spending too much time faffing around in the morning.
Unfortunately my review on this one is that it’s underwhelming. I was so excited to try it. But here goes.
Packaging - so I shared it on my social stories and got four people comment that it looks like a vibrator. Any who! I was excited to try it out. Would have been great if it came with batteries but I went out and got some.
It doesn’t take long to heat up and I did like how the silicon colour changes to let you know it’s ready to use.
Actually using it. I found it super awkward (and I have quite long lashes) and that it didn’t really do anything much. I tried a few times. I shall pass on to my step daughter to see if she has any luck.
