Better than the other revlon primer i have used..

The balm was white not clear. I applied with my fingers. I think i put a decent amount on i also used a little face moisturizer and let it sit before applying the primer. The primer feels quite nice going on but it didn't cover my large pores or fill them in as well as others i have tried but it did a little bit. In terms of antishine it does not really help much i let the primer sit for a while and put the photo ready bb cream on and it still looked dewy and shiny perhaps this primer antishine stuff would work better with a powder foundation instead? The lasting power for this wasnt great either. It is better than the other revlon primer i have tried though! I think trying this with a powder foundation might be worth a try. Interesting packaging and applicator with this product.

Not bad, not great

The bottom line is I won't be repurchasing this product. However I will be using it everyday (that I remember) until it's finished.

I have an oily T zone and this product does reduce the shine. It doesn't seem to prolong the life of my makeup.

I dislike container and would prefer a primer in a tube. I use my fingers to apply the product to my T zone. I tried using the foam square provide in the container but didn't like it.

Makes my skin feel smoother but you'd expect this from a product containing silicone.

Good, but not a miracle.

I'm a total sucker for new products, so it was only a matter of days after its release that the Revlon Prime and Anti Shine Primer made its way into my beauty drawer. This is a little different to any other primer I have seen, it's in a balm form, claims to mattify the skin and can be applied under or on top of makeup. That's right, this balm can be rubbed on top of makeup to control excess oil.

The packaging is typical Revlon - plastic, reasonably sturdy, with a small sponge applicator inside. There is no mirror, and I personally threw away the applicator. The balm is thick and solid, and softens into your fingertips or onto your face. This formula is great for focusing on specific areas of the face - such as the T-Zone or either side of your nose. It isn't particularly easy to smooth it over the entire face. I apply the product with my fingers to my chin and either side of my nose, not bothering to move towards my jawline or forehead. The formula has a silicone feeling (although not extreme) and provides a smooth canvas for makeup. It did make my pores appear smaller and my makeup became more flawless.

My skin was slightly less oily when using this primer underneath my makeup. It wasn't a significant difference, and it wouldn't affect my need to re-powder or blot at lunch time. It did keep my makeup looking fresh - however I have never had an issue with makeup fading or not lasting. To be honest, I haven't tried this primer over top of makeup. I wear full coverage foundation and powder, and I just can't imagine it ending well. If you were curious, you could use the tester in store to trial this.

Overall I will continue to use this primer, however it is no miracle for oily skin and I will not be repurchasing.

Tips: Apply with a patting rather than rubbing motion. Do not overapply as makeup with not sit well over it.
