MAC's Prep and Prime Natural Radiance is now my go-to when it comes to creating a smooth base for my makeup. The main reason for me is the formula. It's the perfect consistency for a lotion-style primer, similar to a moisturiser. It also looked and smelled like a moisturiser and was easy to apply with my fingers. I use two pumps which provides good coverage to my face. I have this in Radiant Yellow as I have oily skin but this goes on without leaving a noticeable colour change.
Natural Radiance helps create a dewy base for my foundation to sit on. For me this is where the "radiance" comes in, I love a good glow when it comes to my makeup and this primer works to help keep my foundation lasting.
I was previously using Prep and Prime Skin which I liked as well but have since switched to this as I feel my skin does look more radiant using it. In saying that it has been a while since I used Skin so I would be curious as to doing a comparison now as Natural Radiance is on the higher end of the price scale.
I was given the mac primer in radiant yellow, but radiant pink would have probably been a better choice for my skin tone.
It’s a glittery base cream with a thickish, light creamy yellow custard yoghurt like appearance and texture. This primer is actually made for those with oily skin types.. But i have more of a dry to normal skin. So oops..
I did notice a couple of small tiny breakouts.. but that’s what usually happens to my skin if i use products made for oily skin... hehehe
Anyways, this primer makes my face feel dewy, and yes very shiny. It’s slight dewy stickiness gives the face enough hydration to last the day. Personally.. i’m not a fan of any slight stickiness on my face in the morning... as i don’t like the feeling of brushing my powder brush over that stickiness. However, not a major issue here, as it blends well with the bb cream and foundations i have so far.. giving it a shiny, smooth, and a more natural, flawless looking make up application.
So would i use this again? Um.. considering the price... maybe not if it wasn’t really made for my skin type.
