Rimmel's not usually a brand I turn to for base makeup but I saw a sale on at Farmers and had points to spend so thought why not try something new! This comes in a simple plastic packaging with a decent amount of powder for its price.
The powder itself is easy to pick up with a poofy brush (I like the real techniques powder brush) and feels light dabbing onto my face. It does a good job mattifying my foundation, especially in my T-zone. This is great if you want your makeup to look shine free, e.g. for photos or a night event. It doesn't have much scent and didn't irritate my sensitive skin. My foundation is usually quite long lasting anyway, so I'm not sure if it did much to prolong my foundation but at least it didn't crease in my fine lines or settle visibly. It's not the finest powder that I've used, but it's not gritty and disappears on my face when applied. So although I do still prefer my usual setting powders, I think this is definitely good performance for its price. Also since its transluscent and colourless, this would probably suit most skintones.
I'd recommend this for anyone looking for a quick easy setting powder that they can carry around in their handbag or something. Just put a sponge puff inside and you've go a on-the-go mattifying powder.
I've used this product in the past, and when it was in the recent vault i nabbed one. It's super handy to have in the stasg,
The packaging is nothing special - plastic, a tan colour on the bottom and clear on the top, and the top is a little flimsy. You don't buy cheaper ranges for the packaging, usually! It does the trick.
The powder is pressed and embossed in the pan, presenting appealingly when new. It picks up easily on a brush, and applies well to the face. It's translucent and fine milled - gives a momentary white case when first applied, but that buffs in readily as you finish applying.
It definitely helps mattify and settle makeup, and helps a face to 'wear'.
This is a great little product, for a very reasonable price, and I'm impressed again, as I was in the past!
Tips: Rimmel are often on special at Farmers, the Warehouse and some supermarkets - keep an eye out!
