MAC Mineralize Skin Finish Powder Review

This is my favourite powder. It comes in a firm sturdy compact that shuts nice and tight (so it doesn't pop open in my bag or makeup bag) and has a nice big mirror.

The powder matches my skin colour really well, and has a lovely soft matte finish. It is really easy to apply with a brush or mostly I use a sponge. Goes on my skin evenly and smoothly and blends well. The powder lasts well throughout the day with my shiny/oily skin, only needing one or two touch ups.

The only downside is the price. So I only use this when I am treating myself or if I can get it from duty free.

I brought this at a MAC event night and was one of my first powder products from them. The packaging I got was the new packaging which is different from picture above. It is very sleek and feels sturdy it also has a small mirror on the inside.

The product itself is easy to pick up on a brush and I use it to set my foundation or to give a light coverage when I don't want to use foundation. It smooths out my skin and gives a soft matte finish rather than a flat matte finish, which I love as I feel it gives a much more natural look.

I find that it wears well and helps to make my foundation last throughout the day. Also a little product does go a long way! I do have slightly dry skin and if I use too much it can cling to drier patches but with use you work out how much you need.

This product is now my go to powder. My foundations I use often don't need to have a powder over top, but I find this powder seems to smooth out my appearance just a bit and most certainly helps with the wear all day long.

When I saw this at the MAC counter in Duty Free, I knew I had to try it. I swatched it and it was such a beautiful multi dimensional shimmer. I have this in Lightscapade, a beautiful light beige with streaks of blue, peach and pink running through it.

I have this with the 'new' packaging, and while it looks very sleek the magnetic clasp can sometimes be annoying. However the packaging does not feel cheap at all, very sturdy and I would be fine with chucking it in a bag on the go.

This comes with a lot of product, 10 grams and since you only need the smallest amount I know this will last me ages. I apply this using a small stipple brush, MAC recommends the 188 but I use e.l.f's one as it is far cheaper. I apply it along my cheekbones, brow bone, nose and cupid's bow and it gives my face such a nice subtle glow. It can be built up or intensified by wetting your brush slightly, or layering it.

This has such a nice formula, very finely milled and smooth to the touch. There's no chunks of glitter, or any gritty particles which is what gives it such a nice glow and good texture.

I would definitely recommend this, it's a very nice highlighter for fair skin and super unique too! I will probably buy this again, that is if I ever finish it in the first place!

This is one of my favourite powders!! It is very good coverage, sometimes if I don't feel like liquid foundation I just wear some concealer on red spots and thus over top and it looks really good! it definitely does what it says it does and I will defiantly buy this again.

I'm a long-term wearer of MAC's Studio Fix Powder + which is my go-to for powder perfection, then about a year ago I discovered MAC Mineralize Skin Finish Natural powder and it drew me in.

I had not used any of MAC's Mineralize range before but gave this a swatch instore and loved how lightweight it was. I have combination skin which is fair to medium (NW20/NC25ish) and am Medium Plus in this.

It comes in the newer powder compact with sponge and mirror in your classic black, sleek and sturdy so good for chucking in the handbag for touch-ups.

I apply this using a kabuki brush to set my foundation and love how natural and glowy it makes my skin look, The mineral formula seems just enough to set my foundation and add a little coverage without masking my skin or giving it a heavy, cakey look. My skin has previously been oily while now it's more combo so this is a good option for keeping any shine that comes through at bay without clinging to the dry patches.

This might not be the best option for girls with very oily skin as it's not overly mattifying but I would happily repurchase.

The packaging of this product is classic MAC, durable yet stylish. There is a good amount of product in there and lasts me a while.

It swatches well onto the brush and applies nicely! It really gives an extra boost of coverage on top of my foundation, and helps it set meaning my foundation lasts so much longer. When applied over a light BB cream/tinted moisturiser it evens out my skin tone and gives a light coverage look which can be worn casually every day.

My skin has a tendency to be quite dry, and too much powder can feel like a dessert on my skin so good hydration is key.

Use it everyday! Really good for my everyday needs. I use it to even out my skin tone, just by itself and it's all I need.

It's perfect to set my face on top of foundation, it stays all night.

I never have issues panning these powders - Back 2 MAC? - easy! I absolutely love them because I feel they do all the work for me; all I have to do is apply it and off I go about my day.  They are the most light-weight natural looking powders to grace my big face - you just need to find the ones that work for you.

I use the powders to set and bronze my face.   Medium Tan in winter and Medium Dark in summer to set my foundation OR wear alone as "foundation" whereas I use Medium Deep as a  bronzer.  If I use them every day in some shape or form I can go through a compact in 1 month or 2 so from a financial perspective it's not the best. But it doesn't bother me too much when my face is happily covered in chocolate fairy dust.

I'm not a fan of the new packaging - gone are the see-through lids and hello to covered compacts with mirrors.  Personally I like to see the product before I pick it up especially if you have more than one covered MAC compact.  But clearly it hasn't stopped me from buying them.

There's a slight kick up of powder when I swirl my brush in the compact but I've seen worse.  I have oily sensitive skin and my skin doesn't react or break out - a bit of shine comes through closer to the end of the day but by then I would have got a lot of good natural coverage from it so I can't complain. It's important to note these powders don't cover spots or imperfections but they definitely help to blur the appearance when you wear them on their own.

 What I love most about these powders is that you can easily blend them out so there's no risk of looking muddy, having harsh lines or worse the appearance of powder that has been caked on - I just don't think it's possible with these powders.  I highly recommend them to anyone who is looking for a light weight powder with a natural finish.

Am absolutely in L.O.V.E with this product.

The first powder I have found that doesn't dry out my skin but covers.

I have two shades that I use differently, Skinfinish SOFT AND GENTLE, which I use as a highlighter and light bronzer for my cheeks for a subtle daytime look, this colour also doubles as a nice shimmery eye shade if needed. Skinfinish Natural in LIGHT which I use as a setting powder over my Mac Mineralize Foundation or just as a light powder over a fresh face if I want a light cover.

So easy to apply and a little goes a long way.
