i love this!!

this is my holy grail high lighter!! i have this in both lightscapade and soft and gentle and i find that gives a beautiful glow when put on the tops of my cheek bones. it is very long wearing highlighter with extreme pigmentation.

Tips: only dab your brush as it is very pigmented. lightscapade is better for yellow tones soft and gentle is better for pink tones

Highlighting Goodness!

I have this in Lightscapade and I absolutely love it! It is very subtle but beautiful. No glitter just a natural 'lit from within' glow. I have to actually control myself from applying this too much! I like to apply on the tops of my cheekbones, down my nose and Cupid's bow. I use a Real Techniques Setting brush.

I also had Soft and Gentle but passed it on as it wasn't right for me. While very pretty it was too glittery for me.

I love the new packaging MAC gave recently changed to. It has a magnetic lid which I much prefer to the old lid.

Light Flush and Blonde

I have already completed an individual review for my Mineralize Skinfinish in Soft and Gentle but I also own Light Flush, and Blonde. Both of these are limited edition products but MAC often comes out with new ones so overall it is best to have a look at them in person before purchasing (they are quite expensive after all).

The packaging for these is the usual black outer with a clear lid so that you can see the product below. They snap nicely closed so there is no risk of getting your product damaged. I have however squished the lid too much once which made the clear top pop down, but that isn't anything that can't be solved with glue.

The product is a domed baked mineral powder. I have many of the MAC mineralize products as I love their finish. These are very finely milled so you only need a soft touch with your brush to pick up some of the product, because of this I find they last forever. To use these you can either use them as a eyeshadow or blush/highlight depending on the shade. Most of the mineralize skinfinishes are extremely shiny/glittery so I like to use them as a highlight or to change a matte blush to a more glittery one.

Light flush - light peachy shade with a copper sheen running through it. I like to use in Summer as it adds a nice bronzey sort of blush and highlight to the face.

Blonde - this is one of my favourites that I don't use nearly enough. This is four stripes of colour in a ombre sort of fashion. They range from a reddened rosey peach to a light golden shade. I love that you can use the darker shade as a blush then the lighter as a highlight or if like me you can't be bothered you can just swirl the whole thing together.

Bare in mind these work as blush/highlighter on me but that is because of my super pale skin. If you are slightly olive or darker in skintone then you will probably only be able to use as a highlight.

The reason I only voted 3/5 for recommending to a friend is that although they are fantastic products there are probably other things I would recommend first that are cheaper before splashing out on Mineralize Skinfinishes other than Soft and Gentle.

Top setting powder.

I have 3 of these, lightscapade, stereo rose and a natural one in Light. I love lightscapade as a not too intense highlight and it looks lovely on paler skin. I use stereo rose as either a blush or a blush topper and it gives a nice flush to the cheeks as well as a healthy glow. My favourite however, are the mineralize skinfinish naturals. I have the colour light and I love it for setting my face as its very fine and doesn't look powdery or cake up on the face. These would get a five out of five, except I hate the clunky new packaging and the pricetag.

A heavenly glow!

I was so excited to purchase this product in the shade Light Flush. I have heard wonderful things about these skin finishes from you tubers who rave about these all the time. I wanted to know what all the fuss is all about, after all it's made by MAC, who could resist a MAC product? Not Me! That's for sure.

First of all, I love the packaging! It has a compact packaging which looks professional and sleek like other MAC products. It's my fave packaging. The shade Light Flush is a coral colour with gold flecks in it. So gorgeous! I do think this shade would look amazing on someone with darker skin than me. I tried using this as a highlighter but it isn't the right colour for me. I ended up using this as a blusher and it looks completely stunning. It lasts all day and the colour doesn't fade at all like other blushers. A little bit of this product on a brush goes a very long way and it is super super easy to blend! I have fallen in love with skin finishes and I intend to purchase more shades, particularly the shade Soft & Gentle. I recommend this product to all :)

Best powder for a dewy finish

So since I have oily skin and I love a dewy finish, I'm always torn about what powders to use, because I don't want to look like a grease ball, but I still want to look like i'm glowing. And I feel like the powder itself is so soft and buttery. I can't say enough good things about it, It adds a little bit of coverage on top of a regular foundation too. And it's super light on the skin, you really can't tell that you're wearing it at all. They come in heaps of colours too, I use light plus on top of my foundation and give me sun as a daily bronzer because it's super warm and makes me look sunkissed. I feel like even though they're really quite expensive, there is heaps in the container because the powder itself is domed so it lasts ages!

The light of my life

I picked up Lightscapade with a MAC voucher I was gifted at Christmas time. I wasn't entirely sure what I wanted, but from the moment she sprinkled this fairy dust on my face I had to have it. I have quite a fair complexion and find a lot of highlighters appear too gold, pink or silvery on my skin, but this one is literally the perfect shade. It looks like a really cool shade in the pan, but when applied to the skin it's more of a faint neutral-ish champagne colour that gives the most spectacular glow.

I reach for this more than any other highlighter as I just love the healthy sheen it gives. You can definitely choose to go in with a light hand and have this as a more subtle highlight, or layer it up to disco ball status. There's no chunks of glitter, the texture is amazingly soft and smooth. It's also the perfect shade for my inner corner highlight so I use it daily for this.

Mine came in the new packaging, which looks sleek and feels well made, it can be a bit of a pain to try and open, but this doesn't stop me using it! I've had it about 5months now and you can barely even tell it's been used, so I suspect this will last a lifetime, however, if I ever needed to repurchase, I absolutely would!

Tips: Use it as a matte blush topper if you're wanting that extra bit of glow!

great for dry skin

this powder isn't matte, its gives a healthy finish to it, it doesn't cake up bb cream or foundation and adds a tiny bit of coverage, it is perfect to touch up in the day because you know it isn't going to turn you orange or make you look powdery!

Tips: i wouldn't recommend for oily skin

My go to face powder

I absolutely love this product! It is the only product I have ever repurchased. Ever. Just like the name suggests, when applied it really blends well and looks super natural - just like skin only better. Also, it is super versatile, as I use it on top of foundation for a full coverage look, to set my under eye area, or on it's own if I am only looking for light coverage (or running out of time in the morning). This is a really great product for beginners as it provides a variety of coverages and uses to experiment with, and is really hard to mess up (unless you haven't been matched correctly of course!). Apparently you can also use it with a wet brush for a more liquid/cake foundation look, but I am yet to try this because I love my foundation too much! Just a great all round product, and totally worth the price.

Tips: Layer up the amount of coverage you like on your face and set with MAC Fix+ for a quick flawless medium coverage base that looks really natural and stays all day.

Favourite face powder!

This is my favourite face powder, and I use it almost every single day; still no visible dent in the product, because it is apparently magical. It's great to set the face over foundation, or just over bare skin for a bit of evening and glow. Slightly more concentrated, it also works as a very subtle highlight. I also use this as an all-over lid colour on those don't really-give-a-damn-but-I-still-want-to-look-human days.

Tips: Use as a subtle highlight on neutral makeup days both on the cheekbone and the browbone, or all over for a lovely natural looking glow.
