L’Oréal True Match Plumping Tinted Serum (vault shade 'medium')

First impressions of this product were pleasing. I love products in glass bottles so that was an instant tick for me. It is sleek, tidy and doesn't take up too much room on the bench. It has a different applicator than what I have ever used for a foundation. The wee pipette I found to be more annoying than anything else. You would actually have to consciously squeeze before using so that you could drip it from it. I did however find that just pulling it out it would have quite a lot dripping at that point so I just used it off that and on to my fingers. I guess the plus would be that you don't actually need to touch the foundation and the bottle so as not to contaminate the whole bottle. You do have to be a little careful not to bump the edges as you pop it back into the bottle otherwise you will end up with product all over the bottle itself. I would love to see this in some sort of pump bottle. The consistency of the formula is very runny so you need to quickly pop on your face. I found the coverage to be quite sheer as I guess is to be expected with a tinted serum. I initially used my finger tips to spread it over my face but had better results using a brush. It looked great on my cheeks and around my eyes but I noticed that you could see it quite easily in my pores around my nose. Adding a little powder seemed to help in these areas. I'm not sure I noticed huge results with the serum itself. Perhaps if I use it for a longer period of time I will. I think this product would be good for everyday wear and something you can quickly pop on. You would definitely need some extra cover if you chose to wear this all the time. The fragrance wasn't too overpowering and I didn't have any issues with it. I think this would be an excellent foundation for someone wanting to just even out their skin tone slightly but perhaps if there are bigger issues with coverage then a slightly heavier foundation may be better. It is a great cost effective product and I'm sure there are much more expensive products performing similarly. I will definitely continue to use this, but only if my skin is pretty good, as I think I'd need a little more if I have any blemishes.

I'm a big fan of BB Creams, more so the older I've become. They glide over the skin better and blur fine lines. L'Oreal's True Match Serum sounded perfect for me, especially as it promised to help keep my complexion plumped with moisture. I'm all for that and was very excited to take part in this trial.

Like all L'Oreal products, the packaging is simple and well-designed. I really liked the size of the bottle and appreciated the gently squared shape. It makes it easy to grip and open, and just looks classy in my bathroom cabinet :) The instructions on the bottle are absolutely tiny, though, and I had to squint to read them, but that could just be my aging eyes.

The dropper application was a little hit and miss for me. The consistency of the serum is quite runny, meaning a lot of product gathered and dripped off from the outside of the applicator along with what I'd squeezed out of the dropper. You're meant to shake the bottle before each application, so the product tends to coat the applicator more so because of this. But on the plus side, having such a light consistency also meant that it was really nice to apply over my face. It glided on effortlessly and blended well. I just used my finger tips, but I could imagine a soft sponge would be even better.

The finish is nice and natural and dries quickly to give a pleasant and subtle glow. It is lighter than the BB Creams I've used so doesn't seem to cover the uneven skin tone as well. I was a little disappointed with its lack of coverage.

It's a little too early yet to see what happens with continued use, but I will be interested to see if it delivers on its plumping promise.

The price indicator is around $40-45 (from Farmers) which I think is steep considering a standard BB Cream gives a better coverage, so I'm not tempted to give up my BB Cream just yet.

Love love love, Hands down my new fave. Gives such a beautiful glow to the skin with some seriously gorgeousness. Soft build able coverage that let's my skin breathe. It also has amazing lasting power for such a light weight foundation. The eye dropper style applicator can get a little messy if trying to apply directly to the face as the consistency is really liquidy so I have found popping some on the back of my hand and using a brush to apply has been working really well.

Have had so many complaints since using this, it just makes me feel so glory and no so....errrrrr.....ummmmm old.

I liked it because it was so light weight on my skin which was nice cause i have pretty oily skin so try not wear too heavy products. It was different to what i usually use because i tend to wear more coverage foundations. I had tried a serum foundation but didn't particularly like it but i was open to try this and see how it went.

The coverage is light but it makes your skin look so healthy and glowy. I love that it has hyaluronic acid in it which we all know is so good for our skin. It's an easy step to put this on daily. I personally applied it with a brush and followed up with powder and other makeup because i do have to wear makeup for my job but i definitely think you could apply it with your hands instead and no powder and it would still look lovely.

I am so use to not wearing foundation (after being a gal who always wore it), I had to remind myself to try this stuff out. I chose the Shade 2-3 light, even though I'm more a 0.5-2 very light, as I like to pretend I'm Tanned. The shade is actually a really nice natural shade on my skin. It didn't look ridiculous. The product comes in a square bottle with a dropper. I applied this in 2 different ways, to see if application made a difference. First I dropped a few drops onto my finger tips, and applied to my face in circular motion like you would a serum - seeing as that is what this product is. Then I put a few drops on a wet beauty blender and lightly tapped and blended. Both applications gave the same results and coverage in my opinion. The beauty blender application was alot faster to apply though. For a tinted serum, I am really pleased with the foundation like coverage. I wouldn't say it completely hides blemishes but it does help disguise them. And helps even out skin tone - goodbye red cheeks. And when I say foundation like coverage, it really is. It is like wearing a foundation, a nice light weight foundation with coverage. Plumped? Well I'm not sure if I feel plumped, but my skin looks nice and healthy and dewy, so that's always a good thing right? The fact that this product has Hyaluronic Acid in it, is definitely a plus in my books. If I can wear a product that acts like a foundation but with added skin health benefits, then I'll definitely be wanting to use it more. There are no negatives from me about this amazing serum/foundation.

What a great idea! A skin care product and a foundation in one. Shake well before applying. Use either finger tips or a sponge to blend for a natural finish. The serum has the added ease of a squeeze dropper to aid application which helps as the liquid is quite thin and runny although has a creamy consistency with little to no fragrance. Easy to apply, for light coverage that lasts well. I was unable to confirm if it plumped my wrinkles however skin did look smoother. Recommend for light natural looking cover.

I have always been a fan of the loreal true match foundation, so was super excited to see a trial pop up for the new true match plumping serum. My skin is older now compared to when i first started using true match, so there is pigmentation to try and cover. The packaging is beautiful, a lovely glass bottle with a dropper on top. The foundation itself is very runny and no real smell to it. The dropper will be extremly useful once the product is running low. I find only a small amount is needed to apply, and blends beautifully with anything, i tried brush, blender and fingers. This finish is a great medium coverage i would say, perfect if you dont like anything too heavy. And its cut down my makeup application time to 10mins! Great for adding a lovely glow to your skin for errands in the weekend, kids school drop offs, or glam work and weekends. I wouldnt say i noticed 'plumping' but the overall look of my skin was healthier. Will definitely keep using.

I was excited to be able to trial this serum as Hyaluronic acid is one of my most favorite ingredients. This tinted serum is lightweight foundation at the same time with 1% pure HA and it's available in 9 shades. It comes in glass bottle with dropper and looks elegant. The consistency is more of a serum than foundation, it's runny and sometimes gets messy to apply. The scent is strong and not the nicest however you need to smell the dropper to feel it otherwise it is not overwhelming during application.

I use around 7-8 drops to cover my face. I love how lightweight it feels on the skin and non greasy. I got 2-3 light shade and it matches my skin perfectly. I don't like when it's very obvious that I am wearing foundation so it's a great plus that it looks so natural on my skin.

The serum absorbs fast and gives the skin dewy finish. It lasts for 2-3 hours and then I need to reapply again.

To be honest I don't feel much difference from other foundations regarding hydration (because of added HA).

Overall I am really loving this product, the shade is perfect for my skin, it's lightweight and looks natural on the skin.

The only thing I would change is the dropper, it would be easier to use in pump bottle.

My first impression was with the bottle and wand inside. Its rather messy to use as the wand collects lots of product on the outside and easily dripped all over the place. I imagine this will become a blessing at the end of the product with it being super easy to get as much product out of the bottle as possible. It has a slight chemical scent to it, but definitely not and offensive smell. This smooths over the skin and blends in awesome. I really like the amount of cover it offers also. My skin had a nice radiance to it once applied. I haven't noticed any plumping of the skin as promised, but perhaps it was just so subtle I didn't notice over the time using this. Not sure I would spend $43 on it (Farmers price) but would 100% purchase it at Chemist Warehouse price of $25. This is for sure worth a try.
