Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation Review

I have really oily skin and this is the first foundation that I've ever used that keeps me matte all day. It also has really good coverage and I only need a small amount to cover my whole face, so the bottle should last for ages. However, it does tend to cling to any dry spots quite badly so I have to be careful where I put it.

After trying numerous foundations and finding that I would have to touch then up while I work I decided to give double wear a go after hearing so much about it! I was matched and given samples to try and fell in love! I love a fuller coverage foundation as my skin can have quite a red undertone so this foundation is perfect for me and it stays put all day with nearly any touch up required if you wish to wear it during the night.

I have a love hate relationship with this foundation.

Love - because it stays on all day, it almost looks flawless and its full coverage, not sticky

Hate - can look cakey, you need the exact amount or less to make it look flawless, it can take a tiny dab of this to make you look cakey, it feels heavy, i can just feel it on my skin, its not a natural finish, you can definitely tell you're wearing foundation, can't find a spot on match to my skin tone, price is expensive

It seems like i have more cons than pros but i really do like this foundation but only on days I'm out and about all day, and you need a refresher like mac fix + or something to make it look less heavy and cakey

This foundation offers long staying power as well as medium / build able coverage. I would only recommended to people who have oily / combo skin as I think it would be too drying for other skin types !

I love this foundation. It is very light weight and goes out easily with a brush. Lasts for quite a while but not as long as it says. Only problem is it's price-is very expensive. I'd probably pay $55 for it regularly, not $75.

This foundation does everything it says it does it just wasn't right for me. I have quite dry skin and this unfortunately just did not work for me. If you are slightly dry applying with a beauty blender does help. I would also recommend that you apply your foundation and where possible wait 10 minutes before deciding if you need touch ups. This foundation does need a bit of time to settle in to your skin and if you are too quick to apply another layer you may have wasted product you didn't need to. It's a beautiful finish and l would recommend it but just not for me & my dry skin.

... I've found a foundation that I am really, really please with. I too took advantage of the 10-day trial and after a few days I knew I had found a product that really suited me. The lady at the pharmacy was fantastic, really helpful and patient. I think a good foundation brush is always the best way to apply for good coverage; this goes on easily, lasts all day and doesn't slide off. My favourite blusher looks amazing too. As for cleansing - perfect, easy to take off with my trusted Nivea cleanser. I'm going to bed with a clean face, no residue at all. It is reasonably expensive, however a little goes a long way and my foundation will last a long time. I'm altogether very happy with this and will keep using it.

This foundation is one of my favorites altho it is not for everyone . I love having full coverage so works well for me it is quite a thick heavy foundation but when it drys it is quite light. It stays put quite well compared to cheaper brands. It is worth the price I feel as you don't need as much of this foundation to get the full coverage

Love this foundation. Gives great coverage medium to full. The consistency seems thick and heavy but when applied properly doesn't fell cakey and heavy on your skin. Minor faults I found 1.Removing it at the end of the day is a huge job. I tried many things but what worked the best was coconut oil. 2. Foundation lays on top of any small hair you have making them stand out a little. Regardless awesome foundation!

I can't say that i own this personally but i will admit to sneakily 'borrowing' my flatmates every now and then! I first used this when Estee Lauder were advertising their 10-day trial. This foundation stays on ALL day. No lies. You can wear this all day, go to the gym, sweat and it will not budge. Honest. It gives such a flawless complexion and doesn't look cakey if applied right. If only this wasn't so expensive I would be using this every day!
