MAC Prep + Prime Fix + Review

I had been dying to try this spray for the last few years but because of the price I never did until 4 months ago. The amount of youtubers that loved this spray made me want it even more and I finally got my hands on some in duty free, for $50 NZ. The packaging is plain and simple, I like how its a see thru bottle so you can see how much your using. When you spray it on your face you feel so refreshed and regenerated from the spray and it smells really good! 'With all the tips and tricks I had read and seen I tried to give them all a go, this was my experience with the Mac fix spray.

I tried spraying my sponge with Mac Fix spray before applying my foundation and it just makes my foundation cakey and doesn't blend well, the same as if I leave the spray until last and spray it after Ive done a full face of makeup. It looks like the 2 separate from each other and every time Ive either used it on a sponge or afterwards Ive had to wipe it all off and start again because it looked horrible. I use Mac prep and prime with Mac pro longwear foundation so I would have thought that because they are from the same company they would work together.

This spray only works if im using NYX HD foundation or wearing BB cream with powder, but the 1 thing I always use this for is turning my eye shadows into liquid liner, it works a treat and you get the right amount of spray out.

I am very disappointed in this spray but I have made it work for other things, it could've been that I got a bad one? I don't know, I still wont give up hope, Im still a big Mac fan!

I love this product and use it most days I apply makeup.

I don't think (for me) Fix + really works as a setting spray and I don't feel it helps my makeup last longer - but that isn't why I use it.

I use Fix + to finish off my makeup and get rid of any excess powder and avoid that 'powdery' look that sometimes happens. It really helps everything to settle down nicely and adds a bit more of a dewy look and adds hydration. I also really like using this after touch ups - e.g come home and do a quick powder and blush touch up before going out for dinner, then add a quick spritz of Fix +. It helps to make my makeup look more refreshed.

I really like the packaging and feel despite it being a plastic container it is still quite sleek and doesn't look or feel cheap. I like the clear bottle as well so I can tell how much is left and repurchase before running out!

I was so excited to buy this spray as I've heard so many youtubers raving about it. Also, I did know that it wasn't really designed to make you makeup last longer, so thankfully that wasn't something I was expecting for it as I have found that it doesn't make any difference to the length of wear. However, it works wonderfully to set down my powder and leave my skin looking more natural and less powdery and dry. It also feels amazing, very hydrating and refreshing, so I do find it to be a luxury product in that it just feels so lovely to use. I also spray it on my brushes if I want to apply eyeshadows wet, and it works exactly as it is supposed to in the regard. I also find it helps stop eyeshadows applied wet from creasing or smudging, which is an issue I have had with other sprays. However, Fix+ is pretty pricey, and I do think there are probably sprays the work just as well for a much more reasonable price. I would buy this again if I couldn't find a more afforable dupe, but it isn't a holy grail product. It's also more of a luxury item than something I need as a staple in my collection.

I never considered trying this product even though I saw it hyped up all over YouTube and blogs. But when I went to a MAC counter for a colour match consult the MAC girl used this and I found it quite nice, refreshing and I could tell it gave a little extra something to the general finish of my makeup. So the next time I did an online MAC order I popped a full size bottle to my order.

The bottle is great as it's plastic and sturdy with a good lid. It spritzes quite finely which is a necessity for this kind of product but you do need to hold it back. The clear bottle is great for keeping track of the amount left.

I like to use mine many ways. I will spritze my face prior to applying my foundation. If my skin is feeling stressed (which it has lately due to pollen allergies) it seems to calm it. I also spritze after applying my makeup, mostly before I start my eye makeup. It's great at bringing all my products together and creating a flawless finish.

It's also magical when I do spray my eye brushes before applying eyeshadow. It creates a pretty foiled look and is great for shimmery shadows. Would be fantastic if you love pigment shadows.

Overall I think it's well worth a try if your in the market for this kind of product. While it doesn't prolong my makeup what it does do makes me very happy! I would repurchase (MAC US site is very affordable)

I am in love with this! Perfect for anyone who wants a quick refresh. I first bought this a few years back for my professional kit and have not regretted paying the hefty price for this in the slightest.

The reason for me purchasing this was that I was looking for something I could use on clients faces sort of in place of a toner. I was recommended to give this a go, and was told it can act as a refresher and a fixing spray.

Best way to test it out was on myself, so I started using it in the morning after cleansing. I really felt like the mist helped to brighten my face up, perfect for an early morning start. I then applied my makeup and sprayed the Fix+ over top to set my face. The spray was beautiful and lightweight, so didn't feel like I was adding anything to my face. Initially it gives a dewy appearance but soaks into the skin beautifully.

This has been a lifesaver in my kit, and I cannot see myself without the Fix+ as it has been one of the most versatile products I own. Best thing is that the scent is very non-intrusive, so good for any type of client.

I purchased this a while ago and used it occasionally but I have used this everyday on my recent trip to Fiji. I use this before and after applying my makeup and it set my make up in place for hours. It has no smell which is great; the last thing you want is spraying your face with something that has a strong scent. It doesn’t feel sticky or stiff on your face but leaves your skin feeling hydrated and fresh. It dries quick so there’s no need to wait around, just spray after applying your moisturiser and primer wait a few seconds then do the rest of your makeup foundation etc. Once you’ve finished your face spray again to set it all in place. I also use this with my loose pigments and eye shadows and it works wonders.

Love my fix+ I use it before using my primer/foundation to lock in extra moisture and again to set my powder. It leaves a fresh finish and keeps everything in place for ages. The scent is quite light and pleasant. Packaging wise this product is awesome, the lid twists to lock for easy traveling.

I use my fix+ after toning and before moisturizing to lock in some extra moisture. I love the feeling on my skin and feel as f it gives my makeup a more dewey look. I also use it as a setting spray and it makes my makeup last all day, even if i use oil blotting paper on my T zone my foundation will still be in place. Its a great product and i will definitely continue to buy it.

Im not sure how i lived without this before. I haven't even had my bottle for a couple months and I'm already halfway. I guess that should be a con to it. Anyways, this is a refresher than can be used to intensify an eyeshadow, hydrate the skin which eliminates that unflattering powdery look.

I have dry skin, and i don't like using a powder on my face but i do need to set my foundation and concealer, so before and after powdering, i spray this on my face and it just masks my face with flawlessness.

Its not a very fine mist, but it is fine enough that it doesn't spray big chunks of water droplets. My makeup never looks good when i forget to spray this on my face.

However, this does not prolong your makeup. I suggest the UD all nighter spray for that which is another one of my faves. Also, as i mentioned, i go through this quite quickly. I wish it came in a gallon size.

This product can be used in so many different ways and that it why I love it! It lasts quite along time, two sprays will cover the face, it is a nice applicator (fine mist), smells good, feels super hydrating, and finishes make up beautifully. I use this to lock in moisture before I apply a moisturizer, finish my make up, and application of eye shadow.

For someone like myself with dry skin, this is a must have! My favorite thing about this is that I can use a powder over my foundation without it looking unnatural and dry. It also gives my face a dewy look, but this of course is not for everyone.
