Great affordable contour kit

As someone with super fair skin, I find it hard to get good contouring and highlighting products.

The matte highlights are perfect on my fair skin, providing some coverage and are actually brightens my under eye area without giving it a weird yellowish cast.

The shimmer highlight is a nice colour, a slightly peachy pink, with a good amount of sheen, without being too over the top (great for every day wear, not a BAM in your face highlight). On my fair, yellow toned skin though, I would have liked for it to be a little more pale and golden toned.

The contour colours are okay, I used the middle one to contour, which is a nice cool colour, just a little too dark for my personal skin tone. If I just touch my brush in it and really buff that out, I can get away with it. I tried the warmer colours for bronzing, but again, they were really too deep for my skin tone, and made me look a little too warm/muddy (although again, with a very light hand I can get away with them at a push).

In terms of texture, the colours are pigmented, and blend relatively well. Because of the contrast in colour between them and my skin, they weren't the most bendable powders, but I could make it work.

Its great for the price, and mid-deep skintones may love this, if you have fair skin, you can make it work, but it takes more work, as the shades aren't that great for pale skin.

Tips: Use a light hand because the colours are pigmented, but can be finicky to blend out (especially the contour colours on fair skin)

Didn't like it

I got this contour kit as a beginner learning how to contour. It's terrible. Even only slightly dipping your brush in, you get too much product and it looks very muddy and patchy on the face. I found the products very powdery and hard to blend. The banana powder was okay to use under the eyes but I don't really reach for the palette at all. I wouldn't recommended this to a pale person as the shades are just too dark to use

Wasn't my cup of tea

Let's be honest I am not the greatest fan of contouring, I do however apply it to my clients if they want a more defined look, but generally I tend to opt for a more natural glow by adding a light dusting of bronzer to warm a face up over a the jutty lines of contour.

These powders were not the worse I have ever tried but are far from perfect, they seem to be very patchy when placed over the foundation, and has dragged up a perfect base from trying to blend out. The highlights are nice though and have a very subtle light reflective gentle quality to them which makes a face glow.

The shades are a little murky for my liking, but as a starter contouring kit I suppose it would work. For those with dry skin though the best route would be a cream contour as these powders are far too powdery and found it created quite a mess when applying.

Good palette for Beginners

I first purchased this palette when I first got into contouring and highlighting. I love the sleek packaging and the fantastic mirror that it comes in that I use on a daily basis.

My favourite things about this palette (I have mine in the shade Light and in the Powder form) apart from the mirror is the highlighting powders especially the banana/yellow one! It's honestly one of the best under eye setting powders that I have tried! It's so brightening and light and helps to lock your concealer in all day. The actual shimmery "highlighter" isn't my favourite as personally I prefer highlighters that are more 'bam' in your face and the pinkness of it didn't really suit my skin tone.

The palette has the right amount of pigmentation and I think is a great buy for a beginner to play and experiment around with.

Now the things I didn't like about the palette. The actual bronzing colours weren't amazing, some were too orange and one was too 'muddy' looking for me. Also I found that they were a bit hard to blend and can look harsh on your skin. I only ever use one of the shades, the other two I use as eyeshadow crease colours which they are really good for!

Overall I think that this palette is awesome for the price and for someone who's new to makeup or contouring :)

Tips: Use a light hand when applying the contouring colours! They can be tricky to blend

Must Practice More!

I have tried the (powder) australis-ac-on-tour-kit and would like to purchase the (cream) australis-ac-on-tour-kit. It is a great contouring palette and definitely have used a few times but I need more practice. Love the photo that I took which shows my contour. Would definitely recommend the australis-ac-on-tour-kit but would prefer the cream kit to beginners. The (powder) australis-ac-on-tour-kit is very hard to blend out.

Tips: Use a little bit at a time and add more as you go.

It's OK

I'd seen this palette around a lot and had been eyeing it up for a while before finally deciding to buy it. I did notice that it doesn't have a high rating on BR, but for the price, I didn't worry about that and wanted to try it anyway. I wasn't too sure whether to choose the light or medium shades, as my skin tone is inbetween light and medium. I decided on light, and i'm really glad that I did..

The contouring shades in this palette are super pigmented and quite dark for a light skinned person, jeeze you've got to be careful! All of the powders are super powdery, so your brush picks up a lot, way too much. Make sure you tap off the excess powder or you're going to be in a hot mess with these contouring powders, and once it's on it won't budge so again you have to be super careful, using little product and dusting very lightly.

In contrast to the contouring shades in this palette, the highlighting shades are not very pigmented. The effect is quite mild and natural looking with all of the highlighting shades.

As I said before about all of the powders being very powder/dusty, it makes this palette quite messy. After using it I always blow off the excess outside.

I don't mind this palette for the price, however I would have been extremely disappointed and annoyed had it been more expensive than it is. It's okay, I wouldn't say that it's good, but you know how it is if the price point is right, it'll do, you can make it work.

AC On Tour

I use this kit daily. It is fantastic, however it is quite muddy and hard to blend. The shades are great, and it's in such compact packaging it's easy to store. Can't wait to try the cream one out.

Highlighters useless for pale people

First of all, I quite like the contour shades, or more specifically; The middle contour shade. It seems to work as a good contour shade on my very pale skin and on many of my various skin-toned friends (The other two contour shades have been much too warm for everyone I know who has tried them). The big issue for me and many of my pale friends was the highlighters. The highlight shades are not highlighters at all as they either match, or are even slightly darker than our skintones, this is definitely not what you want in a highlighter. The upsides to this pallet are the middle contour shade and the banana powder, also the product is very pigmented. Overall this pallet has two good shades, which do not make up for the fact the product is hard to blend, highlighters are terrible for pale skin, and two contour shades are way too warm to look natural.

not that great

Very chalky consistency, a little goes a very long way and is very pigmented especially the contour shades, banana powder is very good. Would recommend for a beginner.

Tips: Dont put straight on top of liquid foundation, powder the face then use other wise it is hard to blend

Not the best contour palette.

When I first started to get into contouring and highlighting this was my first contour palette I used. It seemed to do the job just fine to me as I didnt really know any better but once I had purchased the Kat Von D shade and light contour palette there was no turning back... the australis contour palette is alright if you are on a budget and dont have the money to fork out. This would just be my last product to recommend for a contour palette. I just found that the contour shades are very muddy looking on my skin and found it hard to blend them out, however the banana coloured highlight shade is the only thing I would use from this palette if I had to use it. And australis now have made a seperate compact for this banana shade highlight powder which seems to be very popular!
