HG Contouring product!

I bought this a few weeks ago, and have used it everyday since! The palette is quite small, but as you only need to use a small amount of powder at a time, it will last forever. The shades of powders are great, as there is shades for those who are more fairer skinned, and for those who have darker skin. I personally like to use the middle contour shade as I think it is a bit more ashy toned therefore gives a more realistic contour. I use both the lightest highlight shade and the banan a shade to set undereye concealer. I think the powders are slightly chalky but they are quite easy to blend. I definitely recommend this kit!

Definitley something to give a go!

Amazing dupe for the Anastasia Beverly Hills contour kit. Great for a starter to experiment with and see if you like it, or someone who's really into their makeup. Gorgeous, matte black case is sleek, light and easy to travel with, there's instructions and how tos to make it as easy as possible to use. I've been waiting for this product for about 5 months now, I've had it on pre order and finally got my hands on it! Glad to say that it was definitley worth the hype, so pigmented! (You need to be careful when applying some to tap off the excess) beautiful colours, there are 3 highlighting shades at the top, one is shimmery and perfect for highlighting, the rest are matte, along with 3 matte contour shades at the bottom, both warm and cool shades that any skin tone will find colours to match them. Easy to blend and stays put all day :) the yellow powder is definitely my favourite for under eye brightening. The powders are slightly chalky but not noticable :)

Low end, great results

I'm not familiar with contouring products but this is an amazing starter. It comes in a lovely matte black compact and has instructions on the back (although i followed tutorials on youtube that are using this particular product in them)

The colours are really pigmented so be careful with the contouring ones as they are DARK on pale skin lol.

The highlight in the compact is amazing, the banana shade is great for under the eyes and the first shade is perfect as an all over face powder for my skin tone..

I loved how easy this was to use and the price. I was really happy with it i think i will be repurchasing when it runs out (and it will run out ;) )

ABH Dupe

I love this product. I was a little ambivalent about purchasing as I wasn't sure I would be able to use all of the shades. The top three are highlighters and are all different from each other, allowing for a range of looks to be created. I'm so glad Australis included the banana shade, I use this one to set my undereye concealer. The only colour I haven't been able to use successfully is the darkest contour shade, as it is too orange based for my skin tone. The other two work great to define my face. The contouring colours take a bit of work to blend out, but once they are they look perfect. They easily last all day.

Tips: You only need to use a light hand with the contour shades as they are super pigmented.

Absolutely Love

I really wasn’t too sure initially on this one part of me thought I would never use everything in the pallet & the other part of me really wanted to try it & it had such great reviews so when Lutece popped on the BR forum that it was back in stores I raced down to farmers and bought one. The packaging is a great size for a contour kit like this great for my gym bag/handbag. I did think the plastic casing is a bit on the cheap side but it snaps closed and keeps everything nice and safe. It did also have a set of instructions complete with diagrams on the back to help people with where to place the contours and highlighters which I thought was a great wee idea.

This kit comes with 3 highlighters and 3 contour shades. The first highlight shade is a matt pink base, the second is a light matt banana yellow type base and the third is a pinky shimmery type highlighter. Now the contours the first on the left is a neutral brown type colour, the middle contour is a grey based brown and the last one is a more orange based brown.

This definitely took a bit of playing around with to find which colours best suit me and where on my face they suit. You really don’t need a lot of product with these they are very pigmented and smooth. The contouring shades did take some time to blend in, a really light hand is needed here I used a contour brush and went with swiping the colour I wanted then tapping the excess off on top of the contour case and then tapping again on the back of my hand, this seemed to give me the right amount of product. Now we had a few disaster’s with the contouring the middle grey based brown made me look like I had been bruised or rolling around in the dirt and the last orange based brown was too orange for my skin tone it would be much better suited on a darker skin. However after much experimentation I actually found swiping my brush along all three gave me a great colour.

I absolutely loved these highlighters, I’ve become more and more obsessed with highlighters over the last few months and these really have tickled my fancy. I love that there is a matt and shimmery finish in these. I ended up using the middle banana yellow highlight under my eyes on top of my mineral powder it gives my under eyes a brighter healthier look (great for those like me with dark circles). I then swipe the matt pink highlight and the shimmer pink highlight and tap off the excess on top of the kit and apply to my cheekbones, nose, cupids bone and tip of my chin. This gives a really subtle highlightling finish. It gives my skin a wonderful healthy shine/glow to it. These are just as pigmented and smooth as the contours.

This lastest my entire work day easily without any need for a touch up.

I would most definatley recommend to anyone to give this kit a go and if it ever runs out (you don’t need a lot of product so this kit should last a long time) I will be repurchasing.

Tips: Only a very light hand needed when applying the contours

Fantastic review, I too am finding the middle contour colour is too muddy for me so will try mixing all three of the colours and see how I get on!

Worth The Money

I never thought I would ever get this contour kit any time soon because of how anticipated it was. I got lucky and found it at my local Farmers so obviously I had to buy it immediately!

I really liked the packaging, its quite small which is perfect for travelling with. As for the actual product Im sure everyone knows it comes with 3 highlight shades and 3 contour shades.

The first highlight shade is a matte cream colour and I'm really not sure what the purpose of it is. I use it to set my whole face because it does not add any colour but it does mattify my face. The next highlight shade is the yellow shade which I've seen people use under the eyes. I've heard some people say they find the yellow shade a bit too yellow but I don't have that problem, that could be because I use very little at a time. I do find that it does highlight slightly under my eyes. The last highlight shade is a shimmery version of the first highlight shade and I used this on the tops of my cheekbones, bridge of my nose, cupids bow and chin. This is a very subtle highlight that leaves a slight sheen and I actually love it because I love subtle highlights. Overall these 3 shades are very pigmented and soft but they feel quite powdery which wasn't a huge problem for me because it was so pigmented.

Now for the 3 contour shades: The lightest colour (the middle one in the kit) has a grey tone to it so I thought it would be prefect for contouring but once I tried it on my cheeks I found it to be a bit too grey for my skin tone and it looked like I had dirt on my face! The next darkest colour is a lot warmer and suited my skin tone way better. The darkest colour which was slightly warmer looked almost identical on my skin compared to the middle shade. These contour shades are extremely pigmented so a little goes a long way. I also find that if you put too much it starts to look muddy.

A major downfall for me was the fact that I found all the contour shades really hard to blend. It takes me double the time to blend this out compared to a cream contour which I was really disappointed about.

Overall I really like the contour kit because it is extremely affordable and at the same time its decent quality.

Tips: I would recommend using a slightly more stiff brush to contour to make it easier to blend. I use the Artiste contour brush which is a very dense, stiff brush which makes blending a lot easier.

4.8 out of 5!

This was the hardest review to write so far, As soon as Australis released this palette everyone was lusting over it and the ones that didn't have this were searching high and low for this, even paying $50-60 for this on trade me! Lucky for me I was able to pick one up when I was in Gisborne over christmas. It was smaller than I had imagined it to be so that came as a shock to me. I also have the Anastasia Beverly hills contour palette so I was able to compare these 2.

Firstly I like how this palette comes with a secure clip to close the lid, the plastic looks and feels cheap so I am overly cautious on where I place this as I can imagine how fragile this would be if this was dropped.

On the back there is a diagram on how to contour and highlight which I thought was such a clever idea especially for people that don't know how to contour or need a little help with the placement.

This palette comes with 3 highlighting shades and 3 contouring shades. The first 2 highlighting shades are matte finishes, the third looks the same as the first highlighting shade but with shimmer in it. The 3 contouring shades are all matte finishes.

The formula of these are buttery and pigmented, you only need a small amount of product on your brush, I find lightly swiping my brush into the palette is enough product for me, if you have a heavy hand you will lose alot of product.

The first highlighting shade comes out too chalky on my medium toned skin, the second highlighting shade is the same unless I use it lightly over my under eyes, I use the third highlighting shade for everything, highlighting my brow bone, on top of my cheek bones, above my cupids bow and above my forehead.

The first shade of the contouring shade comes off too muddy for my skin so I normally use this shade as an eyeshadow. The second and third contouring shades I mix between the 2 for contouring my face depending on what I'm going for. The second shade is slightly darker and the third shade is warmer.

Comparing this with the Anastasia Beverly hills contour palette it is an affordable dupe, the colors are very similar but a lower quality version, but for the price it is an absolute bargain. I will definitely repurchase this again when I have the chance.

Tips: I also use this palette as eye shadow to contour my hooded eyes, I like to use the contouring shades to add a matte finish to some of my shimmery lipsticks.

Australis AC On Tour Kit

People have been going MAD for this kit ever since word of it's release hit the net. A drugstore contour palette that was a dupe for the much-loved Anastasia Beverly Hills Cotour Palette had the beauty-world in a spin and it sold out everywhere, so when I managed to spot one on sale at Priceline when I was on holiday I had to see what the fuss was.

The kit itself contains 3six shades in total, three to highlight and three to contour. The highlighting shades were: - a matte, pink-toned beige. I have medium, warm-toned skin so I found this shade a little on the light side for me but have used it as a brow-bone highlight. - a matte banana shade, I used this for setting under-eye concealer as I found it brightened the eye area nicely. - a warm beige shade with a slight shimmer through it. I really wanted to like this as colour-wise it was perfect for my skin tone but I found the consistency a little chalky for my taste so I haven't been using it as often as my baked highlighter.

The contouring shades all had a matte finish and consisted of: - A medium, warm-toned brown. Great for warmer skin tones and would suit fairer girls. - A cool-toned cocoa brown, I didn't really use this as it didn't suit my skin. - A warm-toned earthy brown. I naturally gravitated to this shade most out of the contour colours as it was the most similar to other contours I have.

I found all of the powders had quite a bit of fall-out so do make a fair bit of mess in the palette. It's better to pick up a little powder at a time and work from there. The contour shades are very pigmented so you really only need a light hand. I found them quite hard to blend in and if you had been too heavy-handed they can have more of a streaky, muddy effect that's hard to salvage. I've been told such effects make it look like I've been 'punched in the face'.

Regarding the packaging the slimline plastic case suits it well, it's simple but functional and the catch holds the case closed well. I love bronzer but I'm definately a contouring novice so was glad to see the back of the palette had a step-by-step contouring and highlighting how-to.

Would I buy it again? Not personally, I do think it's a good product and would suit those better at contouring but despite really wanting to love this I haven't been able to get the hang of using it. The contour shades are just a bit too hard to master and blend in for a novice like me and while the highlight shades are okay, particularly the banana for concealing, I still reach for other products more often.

Tips: Use a light hand and experiment with the contour shades to see which looks most natural on you.

The banana shade is perfect for brightening up the eye area!

One great Kit.

I adore the highlight shades in this - so pigmented! The banana shade is great for setting concealer, and the others are amazing for highlighting. The contour shades are a bit harder to blend, but the middle shade is a great cool toned brown which is perfect for contouring. I'm a beginner and I don't have to much trouble blending these - I don't find them too muddy at all.

Tips: Apply with a light hand and build!
