MAC Mineralize Concealer Review

Ok so i have been a day 1 lover of this concealer! It comes in a variety of shades both warm and cooler tones i give just the right amounts of coverage when applied to almost any foundation so its very versatile! I love the application wand it makes for easy applications. The formula is nice and creamy and with a small stipple sets well into the skin. By far one of my favourite concealers.

I purchased Mineralize Concealer while looking for under-eye concealers suitable for mature skin. I have used this on a variety of clients over wedding season and found that it is easy to apply and doesn't crease in the fine lines under eyes. The formulation is light enough to allow for it be layered when needed. Personally I use it for my day to day makeup when I want a light, glowy and natural looking makeup.

I generally go for the Pro Longwear Concealer but I was talked into purchasing this concealer by the salesperson. I struggle to recall the points that they sold this to me on, but they convinced me.

In actually using this product, it's safe to say that I was unfortunately, disappointed with a lot of qualities of this concealer.

PROS: This is a hydrating concealer, so would be good for people with dryer skin, especially under the eyes. It did brighten the eyes somewhat (but nothing particularly dramatic).

CONS: Coverage was minimal to none, as mentioned above it did brighten the eyes ever so slightly but it just didn't do what I would expect a concealer to do... it was quite a watery, sheer consistency which is perhaps why the coverage failed to be there. It didn't last, I felt as though it was just absorbed into the skin and disappeared.

CONCLUSION: This concealer failed to have the properties you expect in a concealer. It promises to 'cover and perfect' while moisturizing the skin... I agree with moisturising but not covering and perfecting. It also states to be long wearing and that it provides medium coverage which I definitely disagree with.

Perhaps this would be a good suit for someone with quite dramatically dry skin but I was seriously disappointed with this product.

this was the worst concealer I've ever used, haven't had the best luck with MAC products recently, the shade was good, but the product was just watery goo and it slid off the face, concealed nothing and just looked like i had nothing on, wasted $40 and has put me off mac products a bit.

I have tried many concealers and I like a lot of them. At the moment I dont have a Holy Grail concealer but this one comes pretty close.

I love the rich and creamy texture of this concealer. I didnt find it drying and the colour match is amazing.

This concealer goes on nicely and hides a multitude of issues. I do find that if I blend it well you dont know it is there, which is all we want in a concealer. It is nice in the fact that it dosent feel gluggy on your skin

I have had this for what seems like an age and it is still going strong. This will be a concealer that I will purchase again.

So I kind of bought this product by accident... I was under the impression that I was purchasing MAC Prolongwear concealer, but I'm glad I didn't. I use this concealer for everyday highlighting and it works really well. Super easy to blend and not too thick, natural skin finish. However, it is definitely not a full coverage concealer and it settles in the fine lines around my eyes, on my forehead and around my mouth, even when I set it with powder (trust me I've tried all the tricks). But for everyday use or for someone starting out it is great because it isn't heavy duty. I personally think this is more of a general concealer rather than a spot concealer but each to their own!

I loveee this concealer! I bought it while I was in South Africa (much much cheaper!) and I am in love!! I use it under my eyes, around my nose and any spots that pop up and I think it has great coverage! I usually put it over top of my foundation and set it with a powder and I think it covers up impurities beautifully!

I started using this concealer a couple of months ago, and find it overall - OK. It is a medium coverage and as such won't cover pimple blemishes that well, but it does cover enough for under eye circles. I find it does settle into creases, no matter how well blended it is. In saying that it, it does go on the skin very smoothly and is a nice product to use, although I'm not sure if I would buy this again.
