Garnier Miracle Skin Perfector BB cream

The BB cream is an OK entry level BB cream for the makeup novice.

It went on smoothly, but after an hour or two, it didn't stay on to cover much more than the lightest tinted moisturiser.

It smelt heavily of sunscreen.

If you have very clear skin, this product would suit you as a cheap BB cream alternative.

If you have blemished, pigmented or uneven skintone, this product is not for you.

My skin did feel moisturised, however the wetness of the product diminished any lasting power this product had, and it is definitely not "24 hour" or long lasting.

Tips: For extra coverage, layer the product as needed, and finish with a light dusting of powder.

Garnier Miracle Skin BB Cream

As a mum, I don't always have time to put make up on, and I have been looking for simple products that are quick and easy to use. I'm very happy to be a part of this trial, I've often wondered how effective this product was.

I found you didn't need to much and a little went a long way, However I also found it came off very easily onto clothing and phones.

It is Easy to apply and easy to wash off. I will defiantly recommend this product.

Tips: Wash and dry your face thoroughly before you use.

Below Average Produce

This BB cream has a good texture and has a very pleasant scent which I enjoy. It also feels really nice on the skin and isnt too matte or shiny. However, the coverage of this BB cream isn't very good. It doesnt really even out skin tone or have any noticeable coverage at all. I personally wouldnt recommend this BB cream to a friend. The product was good for my sensitive skin and didnt irritate it at all.

Tips: Adding lots of concealer over the top gives a more desired look

its okay.

So I recieved this and have been using it for about a week now and can say im not a big fan I was using it under my foundation but by the end of the day it made my foundation go all cakey looking and parchy, I love it for a light wear by it self if im just staying home. Other then that I cant say much about it other than its good by it self and light weight but not good under the foundation I use which is (super stay from maybelline) also with my sensitive skin I can put this on and it doesnt make my skin sting. It was very easy to apply which was great .

Garnier Miracle Skin Perfector BB Cream..

I'd not used a BB cream before. I have dry sensitive skin, so it made sense to try the sensitive skin type, I also chose the colour light. Packaging is pretty basic – the box is typical of supermarket packaging with a lot of text plastered over it, and the tube itself is a regular plastic tube, easy enough to use and control flow. The consistency is nice – looks quite thick and creamy yet when applied to the skin (I used fingers) it easily blends out like your moisturiser would. The coverage is definitely sheer – remember this is by no means a foundation, even though at first glance before applied to skin it looks like one. The finish to me was nor matte or dewy – an in between if you can imagine. I then used my bronzer on top - this was easily applied and sat well over the BB Cream, and gave me the extra colour that I needed.

Verdict.. Yes it definitely worked well re the sensitive skin, it did not irritate at all. And yes it did feel hydrating and illuminating on applying, also great that it contains UV protection. It did even my skin out to a certain degree – but not to the point where I thought wow - this stuff is amazing! I found the end result after a few hours of wear was my face felt greasy and shiny – I wanted to either smooth it out or just wash it off. I personally feel that BB Creams actually are not designed to correct a blemished skin.. I think they suit and look perfect on an already perfect skin.

Tips: If I had a teenage daughter, I would buy this for her. Affordable, light coverage that looks great on already perfect skin.

Garnier Micacle Skin Perfector

Loved this Product. I have dry skin which is generally worse in winter but this product did not dry my skin out. It dries matte which I would usually hate as I need more of a dewy finish but I didn't get the really dry patches that I usually would with a matte product. My sister inlaw said my skin was looking really good and id only used the product twice and she didn't know about the review so that was awesome. I got the medium shade and it was perfect for me and blended in really well. It has a really thick, creamy consistency that glides on smoothly. I always put a moisturiser on under any products because of my dry skin. I only got a couple of tiny dry spots over a dried pimple (I need to stop popping them) and with exfoliation that would take that problem away. The gold packaging oozes class and high end. All I all a really good product and I would definitely use again and recommend to others. it has a Price tag of $17.49 and is currently on special for $10 as at 17/6/14.

Tips: I always put on some moisturiser, and this would make it perfect as a primer.

Garnier BB Cream -Sensitive (Medium) LOVE

I love this product! It's an easy product to apply and you don't need much because it is quite thick and goes far. A tube will last you awhile. You have to remember that it is a "Perfector" not a foundation. So it does what it says and reduces redness etc on the face but is not a heavy cover. I love this because I like the natural look. But a warning -Do not over apply as I've stated below! If you over apply trying to use it like a foundation you will go orange. I wish it did have slightly more coverage though. I found the sensitive has more of an orange tinge than the normal BB Cream. I've tried both the normal BB cream and now the sensitive. I have found the sensitive better for my skin as I have semi oily to dry skin. This product doesn't dry my skin like a lot of other products do. And I don't have to moisturize before applying it which is a huge bonus for me!! Even though this product does leave your skin with a slight shine -I don't mind it as it's better than having dry patches on my face. I've also found that my skin has been a lot smoother and softer since using this! I'm someone that is prone to the odd pimple with different products. -I never got any breakouts with this. It's light and doesn't block my pores which I'm stoked with! I find it easy to apply and easy to remove. I don't find the smell overpowering and think it would be fine for anyone who has a perfume allergy. This product that can been worn for either day or night. The box also has helpful ways to apply this product which is helpful to first time uses. This product does what it says it will do! "Skin Perfector". If your someone who wants a light natural looking coverage then this product is for you!

Tips: Don't over apply!!

Probably Not

I wanted to love this product. I really did. The regular Garnier BB cream was the first BB cream I tried and I genuinely loved it - until I realised my skin was reacting to it.

I love BB cream, I really do. And I love that they have a formula for sensitive skin.

As with the regular stuff, the tube is a generous 50ml - which is great for a BB cream. You usually get a stingy 20-30ml. It has a very very faint aroma that vaguely reminds me of sunblock, but this is more reassuring than anything as they haven't added any extra fragrance to cover this smell, something which is important when you are dealing with sensitive skin.

When I put it on the back of my hand it felt quite light, and went on quite smoothly. But when it came to applying it to my face - that was another story.

On my first attempt I must have put it on too thick because it ended up being a very bizarre experience. It was like it it went all thick and clumpy, especially around my temples. Like the sort of goopy chunks you get when you've kept a foundation for many many years past its use-by date. I wondered if maybe it was because the BB cream didn't mix too well with the moisturiser I was already wearing. So I wiped everything off my face and started again.

This time I applied it sparingly and worked it in with my hands (I tend to use my hands for BB cream, rather than a brush. It just works better for me). It turned out to one of those products that, once it gets into your eyebrows, is really difficult to smooth out.

I have a couple of patches of very mild contact dermatitis on my face (above my eyebrow and on my cheek) at the moment. This is left over from the last product that I reacted adversely to and a this BB cream really stuck in these areas and emphasized them, rather than hiding them. This was unfortunate, given that such rough patches are quite common amongst people with sensitive skin, and thus the exact target audience of this product.

I did note that the aforementioned dermatitises did not become any more inflammed or itchy when I used this product - so it would probably usually be quite good for my sensitive skin.

On the plus side, the rest of my face looks quite nice from a distance. And the rest of my skin feels quite smooth, which is always a plus. And because I applied the product with my hands, it is all over my fingertips and is proving quite difficult to scrape off. In fact, the product has remained all over my fingers whilst I typed this whole review, which is more wear-and-tear than I would ever expect my face to go through on the average work day - so I am going to go ahead and say that the longevity for this product is excellent.

The colour of this product is also lovely. Nice and matte.

Tips: Try having relatively flawless skin before applying this product, and you will find that it beautifully moisturises and mattifies your face. Also - avoid getting it in your eyebrows.

Coverage and sun protection are both minimal.

I found this product to be quite disappointing - I'll go through the things that Garnier says it does, and say what I thought of those claims.

Reduces redness - you can still see the redness in my cheeks, unless you try and apply it so heavily that it looks greasy. It doesn't really conceal blemishes either, I have had to wear concealer with this as well, so I definitely wouldn't say that it's an all-in-one product either. In terms of the UV protection, I don't think it's really adequate. No one would apply the 1/4tsp or so that you need to get the SPF 15, when I tried to the BB cream was sliding all over my face - and surely they must know that no one is doing that. So realistically it's more like an SPF of 3 or 4, which is in no way enough for the strong UV rays in NZ. Because it's a chemical sunscreen, it'd need to be reapplied every 2-3 hours, which you can't do if you're wearing other make up over this, so the sun protection element is basically worthless in my opinion. People who do not understand the science of sunscreen will be assuming that they are adequately protected while wearing this BB cream when they really aren't, so I actually think it'd be better to have left it out of the formula.

I also didn't find this to be particularly hydrating, I still wore moisturiser with it. It says it's for sensitive skin, and I didn't have any irritation from it, so that's good. I got this in the shade light and it matched well - I wear NW 20 in MAC foundations, for context.

Compared to the excellent BB creams available from Korea, Garnier has really missed the boat with this in my opinion. It's neither particularly moisturising, nor does it give good coverage. I'll hang onto it and use it for days when I just want a very light coverage but I'll still use a proper sunscreen with it.

Tips: Use an SPF 30 sunscreen underneath this if you want good protection from the sun.

I like it

Applied just like moisturiser so quick and easy to use. Gives a natural feel with light coverage. Colour blended in with my skin colour really well. Great to use on its own, at the gym, or out at the beach as you don't feel like your face is sweating and your makeup is melting off. I like it.

Tips: I used my normal powder over the top for more coverage, works great as a base :)
